Wow, checked in to see what others thought about the show last night only to find out I'm definitely in the minority. First of all, the dancer I thought was head and shoulders above the rest went home last week -- Jeannette. (Kind of ironic because I was aggravated when she made the top 20).
I also believe Jason shouldn't have left because I think he was the strongest guy this season. Sure, maybe Evan has been carefully handled in the sense of which dances he gets, but after the openly rude & nasty comments he's received, I say give the guy a break. I do believe he's got a future waiting for him on Broadway and that will be his reward, not winning.
I thought the standing ovation and comment last night was completely inappropriate after Brandon's solo. If the judges wanted to stand, so be it. Just don't put it on camera & then comment on its superiority when no other solos have been given critiques immediately after performance. During tonight's recap the judges could have definitely remarked how vastly superior they found his solo -- and Cat could have let us in on what the cameras didn't show us last night, the standing O.
I thought last night was a complete set-up for the finale final two -- Brandon#1, Kayla#2. I'm very disappointed in both. Kayla dances with the emotional depth of a teaspoon & Brandon isn't much better at relating emotionally to the music or the audience -- rippling muscles notwithstanding.
In my heart of hearts at this point I'd like to see Jeanine take the title, but once again she drew fairly short straws as far as which routines she got. At least the hip hop from Tabitha & Napoleon was finally a different energy than they've been giving with their choreography this entire season -- but who in the heck decided to dress them matchy matchy when they're roommates being evicted?
