So when do YOU put your Christmas decorations/Tree up?

Our decorations and Christmas tree usually go up around the 10th Dec, whichever weekend falls around that time. Never before. We do the traditional 12 days of Christmas here, and take them down by twelth night, 5th Jan.

normally the first weekend in Dec. this year two of my dd's are in a Nutcracker performance the first weekend so we will start the Sunday after Thanksgiving

Our tree and decorations go up the weekend following Thanksgiving. I usually start on Friday, and hopefully by Sunday evening everything will be up and the tree will be decorated and lit.

Usually the long holiday Thanksgiving weekend. HOWEVER, this year I did put it up yesterday. I have 3 very, very hectic weekends coming up. So, I wanted to do it and still enjoy doing it.

My tree always went up on Thanksgiving - while the turkey was cooking.. The rest of the decorations took a few days because I decorated every room in the house..

well, I have my outside lights up. Tree is new and sitting here so It will go up today after work. Just to get it out of the way! I will decorate it on thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving weekend for the decorations. I am trying to talk DH into 2 trees this year, one real and our fake one. We used to do a real tree every year but 2 years ago we bought a fake one because we were going to be gone over Christmas proper and we used it again last year. The kids and I miss the real tree though so who knows what we will do this year. If we go with the real tree we will wait until the second weekend in Dec for that otherwise it gets too dried out. If not, the fake tree will go up Thanksgiving weekend.

Our tree goes up on Thanksgiving evening as soon as things have settled down. I tried to get it up earlier, but was DENIED by DH

All outdoor decorations, lights, etc., also go up on Thanksgiving.

RIGHT NOW. I have everything decorated, my mantle, all of DD's pics w/Santa, the garland on the stairs and around all the doorways, the bathrooms, and even DD's little tree and Snoopy Cmas village. Started yesterday and just finished. I still need to do the outside garland & wreathes and my tree. DH comes home on Tuesday nite and while DD is in school 1/2 day on Wednesday, we are going to get the outside done (and it's supposed to be 60 degrees) and get the tree up with the lights on. We will have family day on Saturday, after all the Thxgiving and shopping madness, and decorate our tree and then pop popcorn and watch Elf

We usually do ours on Black Friday but dd will only be home from college for four days so I wanted to get it all done early this year. Both trees are up and decorated. The It's a Wonderful Life village is up and so is the Mickey village. All I have left, really, are just a few odds and ends.

It was really relaxing to do it this way. I actually started a couple of weeks ago and, for the first time in years, sorted through everything and got rid of all the old, broken stuff.

That is the one part of Christmas I despise.....I don't so much mind the putting up, it's the taking down (3 kids....none want to help take down).

Too be honest, I would love to do a ceramic tree on a nice table. Doubt my wish will ever come true!
