So when do YOU put your Christmas decorations/Tree up?

Our tradition is to put our tree up either Thanksgiving night or the day after Thanksgiving or the weekend following Thanksgiving, whichever is most convenient. We will probably put ours up the day after Thanksgiving this year. If not then, it will definitely go up the Saturday after Thanksgiving. My dd is so excited about it this year which is definitely getting me in the holiday spirit. :)

We generally take our tree/decorations down right after New Year's.

We used to do it after we eat on Thanksgiving, but now that DF is part of our family we graciously allow some leeway for HIS traditions lol..he likes to put it up the first weekend in December so that is what we will do from now on. I actually like this cause I am normally tired after all that food lol!

Trees and inside decorations are up. I'll be working on the outside decorations later today.

i will put up my tree the day after thanksgiving (black friday). we always try to do it that day. i'm really not a big shopper (i might buy 1-2 things online that day), so i don't have to worry about that day being hectic and not having time.

Usually aim for the first weekend in December. But our Christmas village is sort of up right now.

Guess I'll have to be the different one! We put up four large trees, two real, two artificial, and they ALL go up on Christmas Eve! Well, we might put them up a couple of days earlier to let the branches warm up and relax, but they aren't decorated until Christmas Eve. The rest of the house is done a few weeks before that though! And thank goodness for that because DH is a huge Christmas freak.....every bedroom has a mini decorated and lit tree and every door has a decorated wreath!

My son and I are putting the outside lights up today. We will put the tree up next weekend because I'm going to Disney World with a friend on
December 1st!

WooHoo!

Since we are staying home this Christmas, the decorations will go up later this week. I'll have it all done by Thanksgiving night, I guess.

we have always waited till the first weekend of december but this year i'm a little itchy to get it up.. i'm not really in the spirit yet and i think decorating will help.. dd did her village last nite (lemax, like you buy at michael's) and ds put his up today (fisher price, little people!!)

Day after Thanksgiving. But, since that is the day we are leaving for our WDW Trip the kids and I will be putting them up the day before Thanksgiving.

Our family celebrates 4 BD's the first week of Dec :goodvibes. So we ususally start decorating and do C'mas cards soon after. :thumbsup2

Just finished everything last night. Around 4,500 to 5,000 lights between the the inside and outside decorations. Loving it! :santa:

We stick to the traditional 12 days: the stuff goes up on Xmas Eve, and comes down on Ephiphany.

My tree always went up on Thanksgiving - while the turkey was cooking.. The rest of the decorations took a few days because I decorated every room in the house..:goodvibes
WOW! everyroom in the house!! My dad did the same thing when i was growing up! He loved Christmas so much!! I miss that sometimes! My DD20 must have inherited it!!:rotfl: Truly I love Christmas!! Happy Birthday Jesus!

:thumbsup2
Day after Thanksgiving. But, since that is the day we are leaving for our WDW Trip the kids and I will be putting them up the day before Thanksgiving.

We are going to WDW Dec. 8th-15th. We will be starting to put up everything Thanksgiving afternoon!!:thumbsup2

We put ours up this weekend. I lost my job 2 months ago and dh lost his last week. We really needed some Christmas joy around here for the kids and us.:santa:

I want to celebrate each holiday so it does not go up before Thanksgiving. I try to decorate before the 1st Sunday of Advent (which is a week from today this year!) which means I'm usually decorating right after Thanksgiving. Works fine since I'm off work anyways.

This year we aren't putting up a tree (since we'll be in WDW on Christmas!) but I'll decorate with the rest of the stuff. We keep it up until Epiphany.

It was be Thanksgiving weekend. I have the pneumonia so I don't when it will be.
