Grateful for crispy bacon with breakfast, especially when we go out.

Grateful for bacon bits that I put on egg sandwiches I make when we're home.

Grateful for the running gag DH and one of our nieces have around bacon - they buy each other bacon-flavored things, cards with bacon on them, etc. I don't even remember how it started, but the funniest one has been bacon-flavored chapstick.

Bacon I love that bacon commercial with the dog and he wants his little bacon treats and he’d get them himself but he doesn’t have thumbs 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Happy Tuesday Friends

I like bacon a lot, but I don’t eat it very often. Not because I have anything against it, I just don’t. I wrap a pork tenderloin in bacon sometimes and that’s always so good! Because I don’t eat it often, I’m going to go with B things today.

#1 - BEIGNETS - As in those heavenly pillowy fried dough of wonderfulness at Scat Cats at POFQ. I’m grateful for the wonderful memories they’ve given me of having them with my DD22. We always make a special trip for them. We were just talking about them last night.

#2 - BANKS - I’m very grateful for our banks, but especially our local family owned bank that we’ve been using since we were kids. They are awesome to work with.

#3 - BROOKS GYM SHOES - I’ve had a rough time with finding shoes that are good for my bad feet. I wish I could find a cute pair of shoes and wear them, but it doesn’t work that way for me. I discovered my current Brooks shoes this year and I love them. They’ve been great to wear during this whole ongoing foot issue for the last year and a half.

Salad Bacon - I usually buy one of those bags of crumbled bacon and I add it to any number of things for a little bit of flavor. I know bacon gets a bad rap on the health angle, but one serving of real crumbled bacon is only 25 calories and that smoky flavor goes a long way. Yesterday, I added some to my broccoli slaw with high protein cottage cheese.

Bacon Grease - I wasn't introduced to this until moving south, but most people I know add a tablespoon or two of bacon grease to their green beans while cooking. We keep a jar of it in our fridge. I know some people add actual chunks of bacon, but the grease does so much more to flavor the beans than the physical chunks. I had tasted beans like this in my earlier days but didn't know the secret. So, if you get a really rich tasting side of basic looking green beans, I am fairly certain they were cooked with bacon grease. Thank you, humble pig! 🐷🐖🐽

The smell - The smell of cooking bacon triggers so many positive memories...from vacations to early morning breakfasts with family where the aroma practically beckons you to leave the coziness of your bed covers. These days, I usually go walking in the morning and my route is often dotted with the scent of cooking bacon...especially on the weekends. It's tempting to knock on people's doors and ask for a slice, but that would be weird...right!?!?! 🤣

Evening all,

1. Bacon sandwiches - a breakfast staple, and I loved how I could genuinely get away with eating these on a slimming world diet.

2. Bacon medallions - the type of bacon I was allowed on the SW diet and still eat to this day.

3. Full English breakfast - not something I eat often as it's usually seen as a treat, but I love it and can't have one without bacon.
