~Snowbird Chat 2~

Good morning everyone! It's finally supossed to get back into the 20's and 30's this weekend. It has been bitterly cold here the past few days.

Tonight, Tony and I are going out to dinner to celebrate Valentine's Day a little early. Gotta beat the rush!!! Madison is off to my parents house overnight and my mom is even taking her to the musical at the middle school I used to go to. They're doing Guys & Dolls Junior....a mini sized version of the real musical. She should have a lot of fun!

Hooray for a heat wave! We are expected to climb into the upper 40s overmthe next few days! So excited about that.

Enjoy your dinner Meghan!

Hey Snow buddies!!! :goodvibes

I have decided that I am NOT going to do a PTR cause I just don't have enough time to devote to one right now. However... I would like your input on a few things!!! So.... I am going to share "the current plan" with you all and you can help me out with a few things... I make ADRS in 13 days and I am totally stressed out!!:scared: I am second guessing EVERYTHING!!!

Need to go and make dinner right now but I will come back and post my itinerary in a bit!! :)

Pixie Dust for everyone looking for reasonable airfare!!!!!
pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Ours went by much too quickly but it was a fun family weekend. We had a birthday party Friday night, the kids had playdate with friends on Saturday followed by my niece's soccer game (they won 8 to 0!!!). Today we visited Jason's dad and then hung out at home relaxing.

I'm looking more at our October plans and thinking of switching from the 3rd week to the last week. I've heard that the 3rd week is sometimes blacked out from free dining for some reason. Then I heard you can't downgrade to the QSDDP if you are staying moderate so we might not even be taking that deal if it comes out and will hope for a room discount. I hate the not knowing. October discounts probably won't be out until July so I've got a lot of not knowing to look forward to unfortunately. :headache:

Kim- patiently awaiting your mini PTR :goodvibes

Sorry about that! The weekend seemed to get away on me!!! It was a great one though!!! Had Friday evening all to myself as DH took the girls to a University Basketball game! Saturday we spent most of the day in our jammies just lazing around. Nat went with the hubs to another game that night and em and i stayed home, baked cookies and watched a movie!!! Yesterday the girls and I went to our local Historical Site - "Fort William Historical Park" with our Girl Guide groups and did snowshoeing, and all kinds of fun stuff! A GREAT weekend!!!

Here is Day one of my little PTR - tell me what you think.....

Wednesday August 24th -

arrive MCO ~ 1115am
DME to Poly (possibly arrive ~ 1230??)
check in, settle in, swim, RELAX (maybe even nap!!)
Spirit of Aloha Luau 8pm

The girls keep talking about getting pails and shovels and playing on the beach while Mommy and Daddy have a "Fun drink" - sounds GREAT to me!!! :cloud9:

Be back later with Day 2!!!!! :)

Kim - your first day sounds good. Nice and easy!

My Mother-in-law (via my email address) just got a PIN email today for free dining for "most nights" July 1, 2011 through August 13, 2011. Not your normal free dining time is it? She gets more offers than me. Jeez.

Funny, they should know I have a trip booked (using that email) and haven't even gone yet!!

I had a great weekend scrapbooking and laughing, drinking and eating. I'm SOOOO tired! Oh but it was worth it!!!

That isn't normal free dining time at all! I've never received a pin in someone else's name before. How does that happen?

Thanks Sheree! I reread your posts on your experience of the SoA - but you really didn't comment on the Heat much. Did you find the 515pm show to be VERY hot?? That is one of the reasons we are considering the later show. The sun will have gone down and it should be a teensy bit less hot then the earlier show. Also, it will be dark - better to see the fire dancers I think! The reason why the earlier show would be better is we could watch the EWP from the beach at 9 then head to bed a bit sooner! Still weighing my options on which would be better! :)

Anybody else have any thoughts??

Because we've made reservations for her using our email address, or have linked reservations with her. That's the only reason I can think of.

I think because the seating area is shaded, the heat didn't bother us much. The stage was in the sun a bit but it was going behind the seating pavilion. I would guess as it gets darker, the stage will have lighting anyway, but they might dim them for the fire dancers. Once the sun goes down, it will definitely cool down. Might still be humid though!

Maybe since you will have been up so early, you might prefer to get to bed earlier. Do you have an early morning planned the next day?

Sorry for posting this here but I wanted to get in touch with Northern Disney Girl and can't PM or email her until I've had X number of posts.

I saw in another thread that you were quite willing to help someone else who was considering moving to TB (I joined this forum just to contact you), so I'm hoping that you could help me. I'm also hoping that you might know of some online communities for TB so I could pick some other people's brains. If you're willing to help, please contact me either through email (preferred) or PM - I'm pretty sure the board will allow me to respond if you initiate contact. Thanks.

Hey Birdies,
SO I caved and bought my airfare for April...oy that hurt, was so expensive!!! Thankfully my trip at the end of May will be free so I can just say I made two trips for the price of 300.00 which isn't that bad!!! Now to secure accomodations, anyone have a guess when AP rates for late spring/early summer will be released. This might be another thing I have to cave and do now so I have a room!!!

So what is going all with all of you!!!

Kim I'm loving your plans!!! Think you have a great first day!!!

Thanks Jenny! Sorry you had to pay so much for your airfare! Although $300 would be a DEADLY price for me to fly to MCO from Thunder Bay! Our silly Canadian taxes make EVERYTHING so much more expensive - thus the biggest reason why we drive to MSP to fly anywhere outside of Canada! :goodvibes

Day 2 plans coming up soon! :)

We really liked the UK mission, but Germany and Japan were fun too. Those are my top 3 missions for sure. Mexico is also nice because you're inside the whole time. The "finale" in Mexico is neat too!

Thanks Meghan!!! :thumbsup2 About how long would it take to do a mission? Does it vary by country? Could we do 2-3 in a couple of hours?

Hey Kim, your plans sound fabulous so far!!! I don't know if we were slow or what, but we burned several hrs with only 2 KP missions! We did UK, Japan, Germany and Norway at different times and liked them all. We spent 2 long days at Epcot and I didn't even get to spend any time in the countries exploring as much as I'd like becuase we were running around doing missions. Next trip I'm slowing down and shopping!! ;)
But, you can stop anytime you want-there are a few different "missions" in each country before completing it, so you can really stop at any time if you've got things to do.
Keep filling us in on the plans...

I liked the Germany KP mission too. We haven't done the UK one, that's on the list for next time! We've done Mexico, Norway, Germany and China. I don't recall doing Japan. They all have something cool to discover and it's nice to look closer at the pavillions.

Northern Disney Girl, as per your request, I've started a new thread.

The thread is in Global Neighbours > Canadian Trip Planning & Community Board

Unfortunately, even though you PM'ed me, I still don't have rights to PM back. I don't have rights to post a URL either.

Thanks for relying!
