Hey Snowbirds!

It seems that our chat has reached 250 pages and we are ready for a new one!! (Snowbird Chat 1 -- http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2223607 )

Welcome to our new home! Come on in and make yourselves comfortable. This is a place we can all keep in touch and talk about our lives and our upcoming Disney trips (even if we aren't all going to WDW in January again)!

To those of you who might be new -- this group was a January Countdown thread for Jan 2009. We called ourselves the Snowbirds! After our trips a lot of us still wanted to keep in touch, so we started a 'Snowbird Chat' thread. And it still continues!!

I would have thought we'd get tp Part 2 alot sooner as we can be quite chatty.... but we do extend out chatiness to our PTR and TR

Today looks to be my 41 day mark, and I have to admit I am a teeny bit stressed.

On Thursday I picked up glow stick, necklaces etc from the dollar store. I have my Disney Shirts centralized in a Disney closet tote. i have my packing list and the family laughed at me... I made it into a spreadsheet by "type" clothes, toiletries, paperwork,electronics, miscellaneous, and then a park bag list all on it's own. I said I wasn't planning on packing all that into a park bag as some things we have never used in our past trips... I got "looks", therefore we agreed the reason we did not need them was because we had them.

I also have 2 pairs of sunglasses now... I lost my Jones New York Sunglasses in DLRP on Pirates ! In the ride photo, there they are clipped on my shirt, when I got off the ride they were gone!

Well it appears my stress has caused some rambling... so I think I may go off and make use of this energy.

My work Christmas party is tonight, and I don't want to go, but I have to

Rather stay home with a fire and good disney movie.

Hey Snowbirds!!

WE ARE HAVING A BLIZZARD!!!
Holy Hannah - it is so windy - we can't even tell how much snow fell! DH went out this am and plowed, then went to work. They called all the mail carriers back in. A couple went out and the roads were not passable.

So that old saying about "through wind, rain, sleet snow and dark of night..." about the mail. Doesn't matter here. Nope, it doesn't actually say Blizzard, so they did not deliver.
DH came home and is trying to plow the driveway again. It just keeps blowing and drifting! I THINK it's still coming down from the sky too.

I baked some cookies and am thinking, what a great day to sit and DIS!! I don't have anything much else to do but laundry anyway! The girls are watching Mulan.

Maybe I'll try to finish up my TR.

Joanne - don't stress! You have plenty of time!! Too bad you have to go to a work party that you don't want to. I'd rather stay home by the fire too. My work doesn't have parties outside of work. We have special lunches instead. Government...

Okay - any of you that haven't been to my TR lately - pop on over, I'm about done with it! All the WDW days are done.

Last night I went to a local hockey game and won a free Keg Party! My friends are very excited for this...especially after working the Holiday's in retail. The first thing I've ever won in my life and it's a Keg Party!

Hope everyone stays warm and safe during the storm. Thankfully doesn't look like we will see much of anything from the storm. So glad for that.

I'm here! Whew...glad I didn't get left behind!

Spent the day out shopping. spent way too much money, I had Very Little patience for crowds, it took me at leat 15 minutes to get in and 25 minutes tO get outbid the mall parking lot. And I was at 3 different Targets. I did get most everything I needed (I think), other than a few odds and ends I get pick up at walmart. now I just need to work on the Disney surprise box!

I am waiting on two things to come in the mail that I ordered and a couple of stocking stuffers. Then you can call me finished!! Now I just have to start the wrapping process. So much wrapping . . .

Thanks Sheree ... I think it's my nature to stress... I caught on last night that it was my "make everyone happyitis" kicking in
DH said "Let's wing it" , it made my stomach upset to even think that !

We have RAIN here instead of snow... we were to get snow, but I guess we're not below zero yet .

The christmas party was nice... and I am glad we went... I am a senior manager, so I "have " to go , we ended up winning 3 prizes, the centerpiece (a nice telefloral bouquet), a $50 KEG card, and a $10 Bon Appetitie card Not bad for not wanting to go! I also had a great table to sit with the other senior executives, and actually got some disney talk in , one couple just returned from Disney - they went the week after thanksgiving (the week we're looking at going) and stayed at the BC ! It was nice to hear their perscpective on things and I got to ask questions about my happy place !

We did not stay out late, so when I got home I started re- reading the UG, and fell to sleep to disney dreams (not nightmares).

Sheree how ya doing over there!??! Still snowing here for a few hours but I need to go dig out my snowsuit. I actually haven't had to wear it for a few years (here's hoping it still fits). You'll like this...my sister in KY is in a Winter Weather Advisory because they are expecting 1-3".... She found that very funny!

I got my mom's "Christmas Present". My family decided that since we are all paying for our trip to Colorado (in 10 days ) that we aren't going to exchange gifts. Well I'm not doing anything for my brother or sister, but still doing something for my parents. They put up with a lot here and do a lot so I figured a little gift is Ok. So I got a really big box with Mickey on the side for a small present inside... I'll take some pics this afternoon and post them.

Time for breakfast, gotta keep my energy up to dig out today...

Yep, we got a blizzard today, too. Looks like about 1.5"! Of course the boys are dying to go out and play. I just went out to get their coats out of my car (and cover up the Christmas presents in case they peek in the windows, and my feet are FREEZING! It's windy and still snowing. Keaton decided he didn't want to go since his suit and boots were too small. Drew's boots are WAY to small but he squeezed his big feet in them just so Keaton couldn't wear them! And I definately woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I think another pot of coffee is in order!

My friend has a saying. "It's bone-a$$ cold!" It is true today. It finally stopped snowing last night and now it is about -5 and sunny. Our snowblower stopped working this morning, so I went to help shovel where the plow came and piled 3 feet of snow at the bottom of our driveway. Then a neighbor loaned us his blower. So we can get out if we have to. But everything is canceled - including the Vikings game!

The other team got stranded in KC last night, so the postponed the game until Monday night, and then the dome roof collapsed and leaked onto the field!!! So now we don't know when the game will be. DH usually works at them, and he would have had to go early this morning. Uh, no thanks. It was nice to sleep in!!

So I'm doing more cookies today! Nothing else to do!! Might wrap some gifts and do some
Then it's back to work tomorrow!

I had to laugh at those big 3" snowstorms! We don't stop anything for that much/little snow!!

Joanne - sounds like a nice evening - always helps to talk Disney - and what nice prizes!!!

I was finally having a better morning after the coffee kicked in. Fire roaring, baking cookies for Drew's Scout meeting today, then...the ominous sound...of a child wretching...Yep, got me a sick 4 yr old! Felt better after the "event" but has occassional tummy aches and false alarms. Poor baby! Guess I'm not sending him with Andy and Drew to the scout meeting! Time to snuggle on the couch with him and watch Disney channel!

my husband is SO excited about the game being here tomorrow - especially for FREE! He plans to be there, at 8am, to get in line for his free ticket(s). He wants me to go, but we're getting snow, I'm on crutches, blah blah.

Too bad about the BaggieDome, though!

(We're "only" getting 3-6" of snow - the real trouble is our street won't get plowed for awhile and we have to turn left on a busy road from an unplowed street to get to work)

My husband wants to use his snow blower for the 3" of fluffy snow.

I hope your DH enjoys the game! Someone should benefit from this mess! I guess it's the people of Detroit! They offered MN ticket holders prime 50 yd line seats. But it would cost $$$$ just to get there!! DH is losing a couple hundred $ by not working the game. Who knows what they'll do for next week's game?
If you weren't on crutches (the snow must be a pain to you!) I'd say go. Probably one of Favre's last games. If he plays at all. I think with his ego, he'll try to start so he can keep his stupid record going. Like ANYONE will ever come close to 300 starts. Whatever.

Hey girls!! we surely don't have a blizzard here! It was hot and shorts-wearing-weather yesterday. BUT,....as the evening wore on, the cold front moved in. Today is about 48-50 something. Tonight should be in the 20's, which is pretty cold for us! Sheree---I can not believe ya'll are at -5!!!! That's crazy!!!! The sun is shining here, but the wind is the kind that is slicing thru you...But, I do love it!!
I love our new 'home'!! Snowbirds Rock! Hope you are all enjoying your weekends and are having fun in spite of your weather conditions!
