~Snowbird Chat 2~

I did the UK mission on my last trip and it was so much fun!! I know the girls would really enjoy it Kim!! I also found out that when you go to the KP fast pass, you can ask for a specific mission first and they will make sure you get that one!! So don't hesitate to ask for the mission you would like for them to do first!!!!!

Kim - we did the late showing of SoA. DD and I fell asleep... :laughing:We were exhausted. That was during January, the weather was cooler, but not freezing like it has been in January.

Our family has agreed, we did it once, but would not do it again.

I did not enjoy the food and our seats were not great, and the show was long. That's my genuine opinion, if it helps.

I enjoyed the China one, but since it was just me - no kids - I'm not sure I'd do it again.

I thought about SOA since we are staying at the Poly for part of our trip, but these are the exact things I was worried about -- poor seats, just okay food, and the show being too long. Oh, and the heat in Aug/Sept. :faint:

I think we'll skip it.

Thanks for all the info and opinions on SoA and the KP missions!

It is excellent to know that we can request specific missions! I think that perhaps since we are planning to eat in the UK that we will do that one first!

SoA was a specific request by the girls and since we are staying there I figured it was a nice thing to do on our arrival night! I am leaning now towards the earlier show as we will have been up so early and are planning to do am emh at MK the following morning!

We are most definitely NOT picky eaters so I don't think the food will be an issue - we have never had a bad meal at WDW!!! I have never been to Hawaii or anywhere in the tropics so the show will be something new to me as wel! We will be paying OOP for the best seats so I don't forsee us having a bad seat!

We thought about doing HDDR as well but I think we will save that one for another trip! :) It looks really fun too and the food sounds like it is right up our alley!

Here are our Day 3 Plans.....

Friday August 26th

am emh @ Epcot 8-12ish
lunch @ Sunshine Seasons
swimming etc @ Poly 1-5
MK 6-10
supper @ The Plaza 630pm
there is pm emh @ MK that night but I don't think we will stay too late

as you can see, we will be taking it VERY slowly, little chunks of park time interspersed with lots of pool time!!

Kim- Your plans sound fantastic. We loved that we took it at a slower pace this last trip. It really made a difference and everyone was much happier.

Jason had his job interview yesterday and it seemed to go well he said. :goodvibes He interviewed with 2 bosses. One is in charge of the whole thing and the other is in charge of the building Jason would be working in if he gets the job. When he stepped out of the office with just the guy that's in charge of the building he told him they are interviewing 10 people total and that they have already eliminated 5 of those 10 so he's got a 1 in 5 shot. He should hear something by Friday or Tuesday at the latest. They are closed Monday so we are really hoping that they make their decision by Friday so it's not a long weekend of waiting. I'm so anxious!!!! God is probably tired of hearing from me about it :lmao:

I am on a business trip in the UK this week, so I have been fully entrenched in work and stress! I took a break and dissed, looking up discount codes etc. We did get a room discount pin, but we wanted FD. DH and I chatted today about "life" and then he texts me and lets me know he booked a Disney Trip! Yes my DH booked the trip! What did he pick....

POR
November 13th - 19th
Park Hopper with Water Parks and More
DDP

He used our pin and the CM (he said) was very helpful to be sure we got the best deal available!

I am so excited!
I have learnt things can happen and this trip may not come to be... we had to cancel our October 2010 trip, but then ended up going in January 2011.

I think it's the booked trip and ticker that keep us going... so I am no longer tickerless!

I am also excited to see if we like POR... hesitant, but it's always nice to try something new.

Kim -- Your plans look great! :thumbsup2

Kim -- Good Luck to Jason! :wizard:

Joanne -- Congrats!! :cool1: That is so awesome! YAY for a wonderful DH!! POR is a fantastic resort. :goodvibes

Thanks Shelly, I was just over at the CSR... it looks very nice... but I have heard it is big and I don;t like the added gratuity for the Pepper Market... I am just happy he booked... no convincing... :yay:

We have stayed at both and I would definitely pick POR of the two of them! We didn't care for Pepper Market at all.

I can't believe your DH booked all by himself! :cool1: Did he pick the resort by himself or had you talked about it previously?

Thanks Meghan!!! :thumbsup2 About how long would it take to do a mission? Does it vary by country? Could we do 2-3 in a couple of hours?

In Sept, I think we did Norway, France and the UK all in one day. It really does vary by country. Norway didn't take long at all, France took us FOREVER, and the UK was just right. Mexico doesn't take long either; China frustrated us just like France; Germany and Japan were just right as well.

Joanne - THAT IS AWESOME!!!!! 2 trips in one year!!! How exciting!!! :cool1: And you will get to see all the Christmas stuff too! :thumbsup2

Kim - I will keep that Job situation in my prayers my friend - God is most definitely NOT getting tired of hearing from you - you know that! :goodvibes

Thanks to everyone else for all the comments on my travel plans! I will try to post the next day tomorrow but not sure as it is my eldest daughters 10th birthday tomorrow and I have oodles to do while she is at school!!!

I guess that means it my 10th anniversary as a mommy! ;) Time to change my sigggie!! :upsidedow

YAY!!!!! What a great hubby you have! (Although the control-freak in me is not sure how I'd handle that)! :rotfl:
Is POR smaller than POFQ? I always get confused. And which one can sleep 5? (I'm thinking POR is 5 and bigger)? My MIL wants to go with us next time and I'm thinking that will be our cheapest option. then again, my younger sister wants to go, too, so I'm thinking if that happens, we'll stick with Pop and she and MIL can room together. :confused3

Ordered the boys' Crocs for our trip :) That's all . . . Carry on.

Sorry I don't know anything about the KP missions.

HAHA!! Mindy, your drive-by post literally made me laugh out loud! :rotfl:

Best of luck to Jason (and you)! As Tom Petty says, "The waaiiiiitttingggg is the hardest part." :rotfl2:

Okay, it's late, but I'll try to remember what I just read. (Oh I hate being so busy at work that I can't DIS) Maybe tomorrow...

Joanne- YAY for another trip!!! POR is awesome and kudos to your DH for doing it and getting a deal! :cool1:

Kim NDG- My DH and DD7 LOVED the ribs at SoA. I liked them, the salad and bread were good too. The show does drag at parts, but the fire dancing makes it worth it. OH Happy Mommy Anniversary and Happy Birthday to Emily (right? for some reason I always mix them up!!) Her present will be late (since I also forget that date too!). We'll get on it this weekend - I'll go write myself a note!

Kim - Monny - Fingers crossed for Jason!!! Keep praying!

Tomorrow will be 3 weeks until our cruise!!! :yay: and :scared1: I do not feel organized AT ALL!!! I think I need to make lists of the list I need! This weekend better not be busy. There's enough on the calendar, thank goodness I get Monday the holiday off!! Of course, so do DH and the kids. We'll see how much I can get accomplished.

Hello to all my birdies!! Well...I just realized that I haven't been getting notifications!! So...lets see

Well...my Saylor is sick....I am convinced he has the FLU!!!!! He came home from church Sunday and went to bed and hasn't hardly gotten up at all....Mon and Tues he slept almost all day. Fever, aches, all the typical junk...I think Mike is coming down with something now! And he is NEVER sick.Valentines day was great-I got a dozen of the most beautiful pink roses!!! If I get time I will post a picture.. been organizing some closet/toy areas in the kids room again. Mercy!! It does get junky in a hurry!!
Plan to do Disney in Nov again, but I am itchin' for a short spring trip...your TRs and PTRs are prompting me! LOL...I think I will call and see if I have any PINs attached to my name- I haven't gotten anything in the mail from them in quite some time.Well...it's off to try and get this train a'rollin'!!!!

Happy Birthday and Congrats!!

So my friend and I booked our airfare for March 15-22. Grand total of 634 and some odd cents:eek: I'm a little ticked because while I was doing the booking process they bumped up the price $30 per ticket.....I tried calling to explain what was going on and was so very nicely informed that there is nothing they can do about it. So I had to fork out an extra $60, plus we have baggage fees to pay for....GRRRR.

I'm still going to FL right....that's what counts! We got some of our spring training tickets too. I'll be booking the rental car today (with my discounts!) and then we just need hotels!

25 days.....25 days...25 days
