Please forgive me if there is a thread on this somewhere but I'd love to see Disney in the "rain"!!!

Ok,... Our whole week was rain.

The day Tara and I went to MK when schools were closed due to Ernesto was a great day when we arrived - no crowds, no rain... then we went into LTT for dinner and came out to RAIN! I actually had remembered the PONCHOS that day - Tropical Storm/Ponchos - good idea to make room in the bag!!

Here is Tara in her $1.00 Target Poncho...

and here she is a bit later in a VERY EMPTY Jungle Cruise queue in another version of the $1.00 Target poncho... the first one didn't hold up very well on her eleven rides on Big Thunder Mountain!

A very empty and wet Main Street - this was about 7:30pm

It was a steady rain, not too heavy to mind it...until we were midway through the KS. The wind suddenly increased and the rain fell harder. The roof of the safari vehicle wasn't enough to protect us from the rain blowing through the truck sideways.

Sporting the finest Dollar Tree ponchos. They actually were quite resilient. We wore them almost the entire day at AK. We folded and stowed them in a plastic zipper-close bag while not wearing them and hung them on the hangers in the room to dry.

Me either... they look to be on Kodak's site, and that for some reason does not work on the board.

Wow, that place does look empty. I guess that was a good day to go, until the rains hit. Haha. Hey, wait a minute, isn't a rainy day at WDW better than a dry day at home? LOL. What is the weather like in early December?

It was an AWESOME day to be there... we got there around 2:30, watched the parade with almost no one on Main Street, and did a few other things before an early dinner at 4:00. It was raining when we came out - we did Haunted Mansion, and then DD rode BTMRR eleven times in the rain. We also did POTC, Jungle Cruise & she did the Magic Carpets all with no wait. We were wet, but had a wonderful time. We left when the lightning started, as some more severe weather was moving in.... other than that it was nothing more than a rainstorm!

December is normally very nice. My Dsis comes the first week every year. It can get chilly in the early morning/evening, but most days are still very warm. There is an occasional rainy day....

This one is from a few years ago but is still one of my favorites. MK was flooded from a huge downpour. My girls had a great time playing in the rain!

Great pic. Isn't that what Disney is all about... having fun. So what if you get a little wet!!!! It dries!

People thought we were nuts running barefoot in the rain! It is still one of my girls favorite memories from all of our trips. I love it when it rains because so many people leave!

ETA: Hurricane days are great too! We went 2 years ago during a lull between all the hurricanes. It was deserted! We had innoventions to ourselves and a bunch of CMs to play with. Great time!

Am I the only person who doesn't feel the need for a poncho in the rain? It's only water, people! Especially if you have a hat with a brim all around (like a painter's cap or "bucket" hat) so your face/glasses stay more or less dry.

I've been lucky, I haven't seen rain in a Disney park in over 15 years... not a drop over 8 days in January, none during a 2-day Disneyland trip last year, none during four days around Thanksgiving in 2003, none in any of the trips before then until at least 1989... I guess it helps not going right in the summer months, of course that's when I'd really want some rain, to cool things down!

If it rains on the next trip, I'll be sure to take pictures. :)

When you are lucky enough to go almost every month the way we do your luck with the weather runs out eventually.

As for the ponchos, its better then walking around with wet clothes. Yuck! I hate that.

Thanks Martha...and wow 11 times!!! I take it that is her favorite ride?? How cute!

These are from Sunday, after my Keys To The Kingdom tour I met up with the family for lunch at the Crystal Palace and just as we finished up, rain! :teeth:
We sat on the patio and watched the down pour and how quickly main street and the castle forecourt emptied out, oh and I snapped a few pics.
