I'm watching ABC's "Outsiders". They had a couple on that are blood related brother and sister. They want to marry but I think it's illegal in all states. They also want to have children.

The man made an interesting point regarding the creation of man. Adam and Eve had children. Where did the grandchildren come from? And so on...

If you voted yes, please elaborate.

who can look at their brother/sister and think "Oh theyre hot" :scared:

This is a tough one for me

I don't feel I should be able to make personal choices for other people, especially when they don't effect me in anyway.

However a part of me is just going eeewwwwww:scared: I can't even imagine wanting to marry my brother, I can barely stand to spend more than a few minutes with him as it is.

I think I will just stay out of this decision........

I remember a story about a brother and sister who met and did not know they were brother and sister and fell in love, got married, and then found out. I don't remember the exact details but I think there was a big age difference and they were either adopted out or in foster care, so they never knew each other. Now that's got to be rare, but they did love each other.

If there is not a history of genetic problems then their kids would probably be okay. With all the babies born from sperm donors, how do you know you aren't marrying a half sibling?

Generally I would be against it, but there are always exceptions.

No. I worry about the mental status of people who want to marry a sibling. It seems like there would have to be some sort of a traumatic event in a persons life to even consider being with a brother or sister.

Yeah...and look how well Adam & Eve's first two kids turned out. One of them murdered the other one.

agnes!

LMAO!!:lmao: :lmao: Just like Sugarpie, I seriously question the mental status of anyone wanting to marry a sibling...that is beyond sick.

Absolutely not.

Also, I can't remember what this is called, but there is a circumstance (for lack of better word) where people who have been given up for adoption meet up with biological parents or siblings and find themselves in these intense emotional feelings that lead to affairs. Most end disastrously, but sometimes the couples leave their old lives behind to make it work.

I found this out when I was researching adoption issues of my own. I read numerous articles on it and it was really interesting. Creepy, but interesting.

I remember the one mentioned above.

It hapened in australia, both had been put up for adoption at seperate times and files sealed. they met and went for the marraige license and was denied, they had to go through a bunch of stuff and finally found out they were bro and sis, and were denied marraige and told never to have children.
