Seven Dwarfs Mine Train FP+ Opening

I am still holding out chances for us as well, arrive in 2 days and would love to get on it at some point during our trip!

So, if there were a DVC or AP preview; how would I know about it. I never found the button recommended to "leave checked" as want to receive communication, so I don't seem to get AP or DVC emails. I will happily post any success I have through MDE, DVC, or AP; but I don't know what I'm doing. Seriously, does anyone here know how previous DVC or AP previews worked or know how to "check" the communications box - I have looked everywhere in my profile and can't find anything specific on passholder page either...:headache:

I arrive tomorrow for a week and I still haven't given up hope of riding.

It will be great to see Fantasyland without all the walls!

I just checked some old emails. On 11/2/12 I was notified that I got an AP preview time to see the New Fantasyland when Belle & Little Mermaid opened up for the afternoon of 11/14/12 - not a lot of advance notice. You were supposed to pick up wristbands to get in at the TTC. We were in the park for rope drop and they were letting everyone in. We never did go to the TTC to pickup our special wristbands.

I would love to know this also. I am an AP an never receive ap emails or information, not even the Mickey Monitor. How do you get on this exclusive list if you ARE an AP?

Wow now I wanna go back. Love what Disney can do.

Not sure which thread this belongs in. Someone I know says that the media credentials for tomorrow night have ride times. Hoping soft openings are soon. Fingers crossed!

We will be in the MK a week from Sunday, really really hope it's open or at least soft openings during that time. When is the media event again??

I believe tomorrow and Friday.

Here is an article with a little more details regarding the press event.

http://www.**************.net/2014/04/walt-disney-world-starts-summer-with-seven-dwarfs-mine-train-dedication-mymagic-disney-side-a-look-ahead/

Beginning tonight, Walt Disney World is celebrating the start of the summer season a bit early with their big annual press event, inviting media from all over the world to see what’s new across the resort.

Inside the Magic will be covering all the excitement beginning tonight and continuing through Friday morning. The vast majority of events are private, intended for the press to develop stories to share with their audiences – which is exactly what we intend to do!

Because of the private events, guests visiting the Magic Kingdom over the next couple of days will find some areas and attractions temporarily closed or roped off.

On Thursday, May 1 at 5pm, three attractions will close early: Ariel’s Grotto, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid. On Friday, May 2, The Barnstormer, Dumbo, Pete’s Silly Sideshow, and Tomorrowland Speedway won’t open until 11am and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor won’t open until 1pm.

“Rock Your Disney Side” Party

NIGHT: Disney has already announced another 24-hour day at the parks, this year calling it the “Rock Your Disney Side” party. But tonight a press event of the same name will take place, highlighting some of Walt Disney World’s newest offerings.

They’re encouraging press to use hashtag #RockYourDisneySide to share tonight’s entertainment, so don’t be surprised when it takes over your Twitter feed, featuring pictures from the Festival of Fantasy Parade, Frozen, Festival of the Lion King, and more.

Thursday, May 1
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and MyMagic+

MORNING: Disney will officially begin to roll out MyMagic+, describing to press the ins and outs of the new system, including FastPass+. We’ll have a chance to learn more about the development of MyMagic+ and its direction moving forward.

AFTERNOON: The highlight of the whole event is the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which will be unveiled to press tomorrow. Throughout the day, we’ll be sharing all of the fun from within this brand new attraction including interviews and special footage captured within the ride itself.

NIGHT: The day concludes with a special party in Fantasyland during which Disney promises “some surprises” worth bringing cameras to capture.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train dedication and a look ahead

MORNING: Though attention will be fixed firmly on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train opening, Disney has much more to share. An “Around Our World” presentation early in the morning will feature a look ahead to “ever-evolving theme park offerings” at Walt Disney World, plus updates from Disney Vacation Club, Adventures by Disney and Disney Cruise Line.

Following that, a small dedication ceremony will be held for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. It’s not a “grand opening,” so it’s unclear whether the ride will remain open after the ceremony or if Disney will announce an opening date there. It may or may not be accessible to the public after the dedication.

Lastly, a panel discussion will wrap up the 3-day press event, summarizing all of the topics including MyMagic+, the Rock Your Disney Side summer, and the completion of New Fantasyland.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Specific times and locations have been omitted from this schedule intentionally, by request of Walt Disney World, as the events listed here are not open to the public, intended only for the press to share the details of Disney’s latest entertainment offerings.

Notably absent from the schedule is any mention of the 25th anniversary celebration of Disney’s Hollywood Studios tomorrow, May 1. Though it’s not part of the press schedule, we’ll still be covering its evening events

I'll be in Disney June 7-12 so I'm thinking we'll definitely get a chance to ride it, but I'm really hoping for an AP preview. We'd definitely drive up for a day before our trip to be able to ride.

Thanks for the new information!!! Still have my fingers crossed for May 16th, but my hopes have gone from a FP to a soft opening chance.

I'm may 18-24th (last park day the 24 hour MK 23rd). I'm STILL holding out hope for a FP opportunity for my trip.

I think since you are there for the 24hr MK day you will have better luck with a FP. My guess is that will be the grand opening day.
