Sept 26 - Oct 5 - anything during this period i should worry about

Ok,

I have been thoroughly searching all posts for upcoming events but would like to know if The Amazing DISer's know of anything going on during this time that would make it busy or sell out the resort quickly.

1. Golf Tournament - when is it, when do people start loading up the resorts and when do they leave

2. Conventions - is there any during this time, anywhere i can find out if there is?

3. Anything else!!!!

Ahhh i plan too much, should just go!!!

Hurricanes..... or hurricane type weather. It is the season and it's usually peaking at that time.

Now, I think WDW has closed only twice and only once because of weather....However, I've personally dealt w/ three different hurricane type occasions in the Orlando area.

Once when one passed above the area and twice when they passed below but never direct. Each trip turned out to be a blast!

Last year there was a big pin event on the last weekend in Sept. at Epcot. Haven't heard if that will happen again this year or not.

Basically the attractions weren't too swamped, from what I understand, but that at different places you would see a lot of lines of people.

The Pin Event is from the 19th-21st of Sept. this year.

I think we're going the same week you're thinking of as well this year.

That's the exact week we went in 2001. Everything was perfect - the crowds (or lack of), the weather, etc. We experienced one very crowded day at MK on Monday, Oct. 1st - but it was the first day of the 100 Years of Magic Celebration, so that might have explained the crowd. By 11 am the lines were crazy, but we just park hopped to AK and spent the day there instead (no crowds; no lines).

The weather was perfect as well - we had a very little bit of rain on our first day there, but after that it was sunny and warm - about 85-90 each day.

Its hard to predict what the weather is going to be year after year, but Sept/Oct is our favorite time to go - actually, its the only time of year I've ever been there.
