How much is your 2025 vacation going to cost you?

The big question - Why do 4 people visit Italy for a week on a beach, as lovely as it is?
Are you kidding? I'd visit Italy, just for the food! I love it there! I would stay in a crappy hotel and just wander around, eating at different places. Luckily for me, I can afford to actually do things while there. Unluckily, I'm not going back any time soon.

It really depends on where I go and what I’m doing, but I’m budgeting around $2k–$3k for a week away. I’m looking at flights, decent accommodations, and having some extra for things like food and maybe a few activities. If I decide to splurge on nicer places or add some tours, it could be a bit more, but I think that’s a reasonable ballpark.

Beginning of July, 2 adults, one child
6 nights at Coronado, park hopper tickets, free qs dining...but paid extra to add sit down. 4700. Haven't bought flights yet

Nov. 30-Dec. 5 -
2 Adults (Mom & I) at Port Orleans French Quarter Standard Room with 3 Day Park Hoppers for both of us & travel insurance: $3234.16
No dining plan so we're budgeting around $765 for food
Total Cost to go to WDW: $4000

We're using Disney credit card rewards and discounted gift cards purchased with other credit card rewards, cash back programs, etc. to give us "Free" money....girl math ;)

As of right now, we're looking to pay less than $1000 per person of actual cash!! Big thanks to everybody on the Budget Board for all the tips on how to save :)

This year’s budget is 10K. No firm plans yet besides a 4 night spring trip to WDW. Part of it is being comped so I’m not really counting it until I return.

We have a week cruise on Royal Caribbean out of NJ.

Cruise fare for 2 (balcony room) with tips, insurance, and port fees. $2700
Parking $100 (driving with friends and splitting parking garage cost)
Drink package $900
Unlimited dining $450
Gas and tolls $50
Total $4200.

We are not planning any excursions but will bring extra cash for tipping and we’ll get a Christmas ornament and maybe a tshirt.

We are skipping our summer Disney trip this year and replacing it with a Christmas-time trip.
2 adults, 3 kids (10, 7, 4)

Dec 16 - 23
Flights for 5 (NC - MCO) ~$1200 (will have points to bring this down)
Rental car (~$200)
7 nights 1 bedroom Old Key West, DVC Rental ($3700)
5 day base tickets for 5, may come down a tad with UT purchase ($3900)
Christmas Party Tickets (~$1200)
Sit down meals: Topolino Breakfast, Jiko Dinner, Spice Road Table Candlelight Processional (~$900)
Other groceries for the week ($250)
Incidental spending/Kids purchases (Disney points)

Approximately ~$11,500K

Things no one warns you when you have a bunch of kids, trips become $$$ 🤪

My niece (DN) works for the DCP, and she's asked me to come down one weekend. It would only be for 2 nights. DN is willing to pay for the room since she gets half price. And she's gifted me 2 guest passes for the parks. So, all I'd pay for is meals since I'd use airline miles to fly down. Not sure I want to go, but I've told her if I do, then I'd buy her and her boyfriend a meal one night to say thank you.

Forgot to add, I'd have to pay uBer or Mears to get from OIA to the resort. She works as a lifeguard and could possibly come get me. But I don't want her to have to drive all the way to OIA.

Taking a quick Spring Break trip to Disneyland with my mom and my son (under 3 years old):
Flights: round trip via Southwest (DEN-LGB)- $300
Hotel: 4 nights at the Grand Legacy at the Park- $945

We have no set budget on food and misc. shopping, but I currently have about $130 in Disney gift cards saved for that alone.

My mom and I are splitting the cost, so ultimately we're both budgeting about $1,300-$1,400 for this trip.

This is similar to our budget for our 10-day August HAL Land and Sea trip with 2 pre-trip days in Anchorage and 2 post trip days in Vancouver. Thankfully, we now have lots of miles with Alaska Airlines (and a free companion seat) so maybe will visit Disneyland next year.

Edited our completed trips/costs and added in a quick Disney trip. We dropped down to the FL resident weekday AP because we rarely go on the weekend. With the free water park promo we may do a few overnight stays this summer.

For just me, it is about $3000. A week at the Swan with my sister (so that cost is split) in a balcony room. Plus and 8 day hopper and air. Add in a few LLs and maybe 1 day of the extra special magical quick pass at MK and it will easy be $3000 before food.

I wound up making the trip to see my niece, who is a cast member. Flew out Sunday and flew home Wednesday. I used miles for flights, DN gave me 2 of her guest pass tickets to the parks, so I didn't have to pay for those. And she took care of the rooms since she got such a steep discount. Her boyfriend, who is also a cast member, paid for dinner Sunday night, I paid for dinner Monday night for all 3 of us (as a thank you) and we each paid our own way on Tuesday night. Costs for the 3 nights broke down to:

Mears, $32;
Parking Spot in Dallas, $66;
Napoli's dinner, $71 (we split a large pizza, an order of bread and drank waters);
Other food, $120;
(Lunch at Columbia Harbour House, my own dinner at Steakhouse 71 and snacks at parks/airport)
Souvenirs, $76 (bought a Cinderella Pandora charm for my wife);

That's all I bought. So spent $365 all in on the 3-night trip. I was nervous about going by myself (traveling alone mainly), but I am absolutely glad I did it. Once of the best trips I've had.

My family is going in November this year to Disney World, so it's another Christmas themed trip for us. All of the adults are paying for their own trip and those with the children are paying for them.

November 12 - 16, Disney World
November 16 - 21, Very Merrytime Cruise on Disney Fantasy

Travel Party: 8 adults, 3 children (10, 6, ~8months)

Miscellaneous
Roundtrip flight cost
Estimated total: $4,570 (haven't booked yet)

Mears Connect to Disney World
Estimated total: $173 (haven't booked yet)

Disney World
2 Art of Animation Family Suites - Finding Nemo Theme
Package with 2-day single park tickets (might change to Park Hopper) and Quick Service Dining Plan
Total: $11,243.08

Memory Maker
Total: $185

Very Merry Christmas Party
Estimated total: $1,675 (estimated from last year's prices of similar dates)

Disney Fantasy
3 Deluxe Family Oceanview Staterooms with Verandah (booked 2 staterooms with a placeholder)
Total: $17,372.01

Pre-paid gratuity
Total: $880

Disney Cruise Line Transportation from Art of Animation to Port and Port to Airport
Total: $900

Grand (estimated) total: $36,998.09
Per adult estimate: $3,900

The estimate doesn't include any additional snacks, since we believe we'll be there during Food and Wine, as well as any souvenirs since everyone will have their own estimates on what they'll spend. For me personally, I'll probably be budgeting for about $1,000 more for those items at least. Here's to 9 months of saving!
