Hi all

Finally trying to catch up on here. Funeral yesterday was hard as expected and exams were awful but hey there's always resits next year.

I also finally paid in full today - cutting it fine I know but I've kept forgetting all week.

We get to book excursions from the 6th June I think so not long to wait. Anyway going to go back over posts now so will have a few posts off me catching up.

Welcome back Sarah, you have been missed! So sorry that you have had a rough time of it, hopefully life will be kinder and gentler to you now.

June 6 is right around the corner, and before you know it you will be on the Magic!!

Sue

Mum and I went to London for the day on Saturday and we went for afternoon tea at the Radisson Edwardian on Bloomsbury St, at the moment there are two for one offers on so it was very reasonable. Plenty of sandwiches, scones and cakes, in a lovely enviroment  we will do it again!

We also went to see the Art & Love exibtion at the Queens Gallery. It has many of the items that Queen Victoria and Prince Albert brought each other during their courtship and marriage. We spent a fantastic morning and througly enjoyed it.

Then it was over to the London eye this was 2 for 1 so check out the offers.

Captain Jack pirate: was in Covent Garden, took a picture with my phone but haven't got the technology to up load it :rolleyes1

PM me if you want any of the web addresses we used.

Sarah

Oh have a look at Last Minute as they do really good Afternoon tea offers. We did the Afternoon Tea and Buckingham palace tour and it was fab!

Lauren and I are officially PAID IN FULL!!!! :cool1:

Here is what we were told about theme nights: Nights 2 & 7 are Formal. Night 13 is Semi-Formal. Night 11 is Pirate Night. Night 8 is "Theme" Night. They told us to check back at a later date to find out what "Theme" Night is. :confused3 They said that the EBTA did not have this "Theme" Night. So, I guess we'll eventually find out what that is all about.

Daniel

Oh interesting! I wonder if this will be Party Paradiso again?

I have still not paid for the cruise, and my deadline is tomorrow. We have not sat down and gone over shore excursions either. I am normally over planning and this time I am not. I need some pixie dust to get my act together because my sister and DBIL are doing their vow renewal on the cruise and my birthday is while we are on the cruise. Maybe tonight I will bite the bullet and just pay it off and then get the shore excursions done.

I bit the bullet and I am offically PIF

Now to book my shore excursions.

Glad you got it sorted

I'm confused! What type of currency do we need in the ports starting in Barcelona? Euros, GBP? Please help!

Barcelona - Euro
Gibraltar - Euro or GBP but I would go with GBP as they tend to be priced on everything unless of course you aren't going near the UK pre trip in which case stick to Euro as then its just 1 currency you need
Madiera - Euro
St Maarten - Dollars
Tortula - Dollars

WAHOO!!

Becca is registered for the kids clubs!!
Palo is booked!!
Spa is booked!!

I can now go to bed. Excursions will have to wait until tomorrow... In other words - we still haven't decided about some of them... UUGH!

Congrats!

Ok, Question group...what quarter is our cruise considered?

Third quarter 2010? If yes the date for the Fuel Surcharge to OBC conversion would be June 17th. And we have to be under $70 a barrel of Light Sweet Crude ( or WTI) on that date at close of market.

If we are 4th quarter the date would be September 17th, which doesn't make sense for a September 18th cruise, right?

Right now it is flirting with $70 a barrel, fingers crossed that it sits steady and even wants to drop a little more.

Pj

We're June definately!

Glad you managed to get through the funeral and your exams. So hard for you.

Now, I have my reservation booking date for 5th June. I don't want to get up for 5am for 2 mornings running:scared1:, so better find out before then.

Nope my bad! Its the 5th! Just checked my ressie again just incase!

well done for getting through it all Sarah

Thank you!:)

Thanks both!

Ok...just to clarify.....you mean that the spa villas are already all booked up for the days at sea?! Wow! Jason and I always do one of the couples villa on a Sea Day and we have NEVER had a problem getting a reservation in one!! We don't get to make ressies for this cruise until June 5th like many others....but if we go online that night to book and they're all taken I'm gonna be really disappointed. We were really planning on doing our spa day on THIS cruise, because with the Adventures by Disney package on our Med cruise we figured we'll have tons to do and so the TA cruise would be more relaxing-----but the Med Cruise is a lot less crowded apparently and so maybe we shoudl try to get our spa day for that trip instead (we can make that booking next week on the 26th).

Hmmmm......can anyone who is able to book online look and see if the are couples spa villas still available for the sea days?

It actually looked more llike they were not released. The times all show but EVERY SINGLE one was grayed out. I was in there riht at Midnight and tried to do spa first - and nothing until 4:30pm.

I just checked. The couples is available to book at 2:30, 3:00 and 5:15 everyday. The two morning slots are grayed out (except CC day when they are available) and not available to book. My guess is they are not all booked, but rather being held for those calls to concierge.

about the spa - there was a new treatment (at least I had never seen it before) on the EBTA and it was a couple thing - it was learn to massage - one of you got to be the massager and the other one getting the massage - there is a trained person in there showing you how to do it. There are two sessions - one is back/legs - other is front/head/foot - arms were on one of those but don't remember which as we did both. The cool thing is that the cost is like $60 (or something around that) and it INCLUDES a bottle of Muscle Ease or another kind of oil used for the massage - and not a little sample bottle - a full size bottle! The bottle of stuff costs $61 itself! we love muscle ease and this is one of the best deals I have found on the cruise.

So if any couple is looking for something different this is a fun one to do - it was not on the pre-booking but could be booked on board and we had no trouble getting a time for it. They even offer it like at 9 pm at night - after dinner and show but before bed - would make for a romatic evening ;)

Well, we finally hit the PIF status. Now it's on to packing up the house, dogs, puppies and other sundry things so we can move to the new digs. We won't be out of here until late June but there's so much to do!

Well, I guess Marc thought there wasn't enough to do as he booked a RCCl cruise out of LA down the MX Riviera in December. We're gonna hit the Mariner of the Seas and find out what RCCL is all about. It's been a few years since we've done another cruise line other than Disney, but, having worked for one of the "other lines" in the past, I'm intrigued to see what's gonna happen.

To those making their bookings tonight, take deep breaths and enjoy!

Michael

We did the Mariner of the seas and what a beautiful ship.

According to Disney we are third quater and it will be determined in June. Fingers crossed. A dollar saved is a dollar toward the drink of the day.:thumbsup2

OK cool. Thanks for looking. I think what Jason and I have decided to do is to book a couples villa for a sea day on the MED cruise when we can book next week (because our sense is that cruise is far less sold right now so it might be easier to get bookings, etc). Then on June 5th when it opens up for us to get bookings on the WBTA portion of our trip we'll try to get a date/time we like better on one of the relaxing sea days out on the Atlantic Ocean. If we CAN get a good date/time then we'll cancel the one on the Med, but if not then at least we'll have it somewhere during our adventure!

Oh this sound good! I can't really do massages as I have issues with people touching my neck but this could be fun!

Hey I'm up for this! How much do you think it would cost? Can you pick us up from South Wales on the way?

I like the idea of booking a coach. Might not be too expensive either.

Maybe we should look into it!:thumbsup2

oooooh Krisan, I do like the sound of that! Thanks for the heads up!:woohoo:

Change of topic (love the spa treatment lesson idea though) has anyone been able to have the fuel supplement charge removed or credited back to their account? When I called the rep. was very adamant that I am stuck with it. (She did say I could re-book, but cabins are no longer available in my cat.) Just wondering.

Oh wow!! Thanks for this info. We LOVE musclease and planned to buy a bottle onboard since we only have 2 half bottles left (one in the RV and one in the house). I looked online once and the cost was not less ordering so we just buy it onboard. It is the best stuff for aches and pains and lasts forever since it only takes a few drops.

Oh this sound good! I can't really do massages as I have issues with people touching my neck but this could be fun!

If you have issues with any specific area you can just tell them and they will avoid touching that area and you can still enjoy the rest of the body massage. Back, arms, feet, legs.....aaaahhhhhh!!

This is a touchy subject all around. Some people were able to get it removed the first day or two after they stopped adding it to reservations but many of us are still stuck with it. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will go below and thus we'll all get it back.

Otherwise, I will not be a happy camper with this extra charge. I understand that everyone has to pay the taxes and the port fees, etc. However, I don't see legally and morally how they can charge some people and not charge everyone for the same "extra" fee.

I guess we'll see.

The excursion booking - can I get on at midnight or do I have to wait till 8 AM? I thought it was midnight.

I think they still do this, but certain spa treatments are discounted if you go the day it is in port. I plan on doing mine in Gibralter. Every little bit helps!

GISMO1554 - glad to see your back and thanks for explaining the FE name - I do remember your parents from '07! Hopefully by September I will know everyone on the list!

It sounds like everyone had fun booking their stuff - I have never been able to book Palo online, so I am hoping this time I can get something - even though it is just me for dinner - that will be a first!!!:rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks Todd - appreciate it! Goofy Granny might want to do Tea, but she is only on in the morning. It might be too late by then.

Cannot wait to read the boards tomorrow and see what everyone booked!

I am thinking about Tea but can't book until 6/20.

It is def. supposed to be midnight. Doris (our TA---who is your TA, too, Sandi :lmao:) already emailed me and confirmed our booking dates for both cruises and that we could do it at 12:01 am.
