Hey Everybody - had some time with Erik and Jason at Animal Kingdom yesterday. A giraffe came right over to our safari vehicle - I LOVE THAT!!! It was hot, but tons of fun! Hope everyone is doing well.

I would love to see the "Making of..." the new ships but they will probably put that out a year or so after the ship is out. ha ha! You know Disney.

34 days till we leave for our WDW/DCL vaction!!!!

We switched to a CAT 12. It saved us $1500 off of the military rate we had on a CAT 11. Basically EVERYONE got upgraded to CAT 9's on Deck 2. There were others who got CAT 11's on Decks 5 & 6. We got side by side CAT 10's on deck 1! Anyone ever stayed down there before????

I stayed on Deck 1 for 1 night during the '07 Transtalantic. They had done some painting on Deck 4 I think, but the fumes were overwhelming in our room on Deck 2. They moved us for 1 night while they aired out our room.

We went from a big window to 2 small portholes. The room was darker because of this. Guess that wouldn't matter in an inside cabin. Walking down the hallway was a bit odd feeling because there's only a small portion that is public. The rest is restricted to crew. If we had been down there a few more days I'm sure we would have gotten used to it.

I have a friend who was on Deck 1 for the whole TA cruise and she didn't mind it. My normal response would be how much time do you really spend in the room? But then again I have not sailed with small children so I could see where you might spend more time in the cabin than I would. I guess it goes back to the saying I've seen here many times "I'd rather be in any cabin on DCL than sitting at home".

Thanks for the feedback! For what we paid I need to be thankful. I am jealous of all those who got the 9's on deck 2 for the same price as us but that is the game you play I guess with CAT 12's.

We do not spend much time in the room. I wish the floor connected to the aft elevators but at least it is right by the mid ship elevators.

Very true about being anywhere on the Magic vs being at home!

We were on last week 4/26 - 4/30, then we did 4 days at the Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal. I know. Traitors.

Tomorrow I leave to go to my moms for the weekend to continue to clean out her place and hopefully see her on mothers day. The facility where she is living is having an ice cream social for mothers day on saturday. My brothers are going, but i have other committments. I will see her sunday.

So I wanted to wish all the moms out there an early Happy Mothers Day on sunday.

So interestingly enough, they did get the island to themselves for the first day but they didn't actually sleep on the island but rather on a yacht. It had to have been a unique experience!

Oh hope the visit goes well for your brothers. Sounds like a nice event. It was UK mothers day last month and for the first time my Mum isn't over in the US this weekend so I don't have to celebrate twice! YEAH

Especially if you need to grocery shop anyway, or have extra non-perishables lying around, it's kind of cool and very convenient. Just leave a bag near your mailbox on Saturday, May 9th before your carrier comes, and the USPS will deliver the goods to local food banks.

We got a postcard for this last year and had never heard of it prior (though it's been happening for years, I hear!). We'll be participating again this year and thought I'd pass along the reminder when we got our card yesterday!

Hi Everyone - thanks for the advice on Closing the Thread. On the DVC disboards, you have to close the thread not the MODs, which had me confused, but I found it.

Hello everybody!

Whew! It seems like ages since I've been on this board. Luckily it didn't take too long for me to catch up on all the posts. You guys were kinda quiet while I was gone. I see that I wasn't the only one super busy these last few weeks.

My college's spring dance show is this weekend so I've had some seriously long evening rehearsals preparing for it. Last night was our first performance and tonight we have another. I'm in four dances: a japanese fan dance, a swing jazz piece, a smooth jazz piece, and a ballet piece. So, needless to say, I've been super busy! My sister and mom are in two dances too! It is so much fun being backstage with my family in the dressing room between numbers. It definitely calms my nerves!

I will try to stay better involved now that there aren't going to be rehearsals every night!
