Hi I have done both ways many times. Here's my personal opinion: it does not save you money, you can eat cheaper if that's what you are willing to do. But what I appreciate about the meal plans (I usually do Half not Full board as I prefer my lunch to be an opportunity to sample the seasonal snacks) is that I then only have to budget for merch shopping and any cocktails I might need! . As I book my holidays so far in advance, using 'girl maths' my meals are free by the time I get to my trip
