Lots of prayers being said Becca. That's so awful.:sad2:

Hope everyone has a good day. I'm going to school with Riley again for "Make and Take a Shaker Day." We're making maracas with coffee cans, bottles, and dried corn. Don't be jealous!!!

Oh Becca that last sentence gave me goose bumps. Thank goodness they are home safe. I know their families must be so relieved. Prayers really do work.

I know, when I saw the news story this morning I had tears in my eyes. His wife called the pastor while they were praying and he put her on speaker phone. It was so powerful. I bet the boys school will be so excited today

I am jealous! I want to go do that...

Prayers work!!! They were found safe last night, they were snowed in and couldn't get out until last night. Here's a link to the story where they were found while their church was holding a prayer service for their safe return!

What a great way to start the day!! :teeth:

Becca~what a great story!! That was one of the bad things about living in Colorado-you heard those kind of stories all the time, and unfortunately they didn't always have such happy endings. :sad1: It's wonderful when it turns out like this!! :goodvibes

When is everyone putting up their Christmas decorations? I'm gonna start this weekend! But I'm not putting my tree up until next weekend. I just can't wait anymore, and Thanksgiving is so late this year I don't wanna wait that long!

Angie I agree that Thanksgiving is too late this year. I like it to be the third week of November not the fourth. We always put up our decorations the day after Thanksgiving. Really the whole weekend because it takes me a full day to do the inside. Even if I go shopping on Black Friday I'm home around lunchtime since I leave around 4 AM to go. The outside pretty much takes a day in itself as well. I think this year we may put our tree up the first day of the school break for my kids which is the Monday before Thanksgiving. That way we'll have the whole week to enjoy it.

Good morning Mel, how's the new job? I bet you're loving no the idea of no snow!

Angie or should I say Anige since thats the way I always type it. I bet there are lots of stories like that in Colorado. I'm so glad it turned out the way it did. I'm going to start putting up Christmas decorations this weekend too. Brian will be hunting all weekend so he won't be here to protest. Perfect time to get it started. I'll probably wait a little bit to put up the tree though.

Tricia, I'm always home by lunch time on black friday too, but I'm so tired that I don't want to put up my decorations. I figure if I have it all done before I will be so far ahead of the game!

Hey, Sassies! Becca, I am so glad the men were found! Prayer is an amazing thing, isn't it? Were they injured at all, or just stranded in the snow? You see now while I will never live in the north - that white stuff is dangerous, I tell ya!

Angie - Sadly, I had not considered my Christmas decorations. In fact, I must confess that I still have a few ghosts hanging in the trees from Halloween. I am going to be one of those neighbors all of the other neighbors talk about - "Hey, will someone tell Wilma to take her Christmas lights down? It's Arbor Day, for Pete's sake!". I am shooting for getting stuff up the day after Thanksgiving. Any earlier, and Mr. FofP will be at risk for ranting about how early Christmas comes every year. Scrooge.

Top Chef starts tonight - are you excited?

Shannon - I swear, I will never subject a parent to "Make your own Maraca Day" because it leads to "Parents Subjected to Loud and Random Noise Day". You just can't have one without the other, ya know!;)

Hi Tricia, Judi and Mel! Gotta run - Barney needs the computer for some educational-type activity. The nerve!;)

So I went to my Weight Watchers meeting today to just suck up my eating extravaganza and low and behold I only gained 1/2 pound. :woohoo: Not that I should be excited at all about gaining weight but I really thought it was going to be more like 2 or 3 pounds so 1/2 I'll take with a smile. :cutie:

I need to go shopping for Christmas decorations as I don't have any other than one ceramic scene and some random ornaments. Ekk...I'm not even sure we are going to do a Christmas tree this year though as we may wait until after Christmas to buy a nice fake one for cheap as they are on sale. I also think the puppies would lift their legs on a real tree in the house ;)

Good morning Mel, how's the new job? I bet you're loving no the idea of no snow!!
THe new job is good. Keeping me really busy though.

I am loving that idea!

I'm excited! I'm watching the marathon right now too :)

THats great!

Bon soir Sassies!

Checking in after a long, but fun day. "Make & Take a Shaker" (say that 5 times fast) went very well. I was shakered out after 3 hours of maracas, and roughly 5 performances of "Oats, Peas, Beans & Barley Grow." That song makes me extra-thankful for the Industrial Revolution.:thumbsup2

Funny anecdote: I was making small talk w/ the music teacher, who was also Reece's music teacher when he was in preschool 7 yrs ago, and I asked her if they still made the "rain sticks" that he had made when he was there. IN the most even-keel, non-chalant voice ever, she said "Oh no. We stopped that when one of the students stepped on it and got a nail in his foot." :scared1: I had no idea there were NAILS in that thing! Reece played with it every day for months. That would've been good to know.

Angie-- that is by far the hottest picture I have seen in a while. OMG. Is it just me, or is it warm in here?:confused3 And I'm seriously contemplating Christmas decorations, only my house is still torn up from the flood. May wait until repairs are finished. Which would require some ACTUAL workmen to ACTUALLY show up and do some ACTUAL repairs.

Bex-- You ARE going to decorate Chet, right? His antlers positively scream for ornamentation. And I am so happy those men were found. What a miracle.

Wilma-- I'm thanking you FOR those parents! Who knew a couple of handfuls of grain in a water bottle could be so irritating?

Mel-- Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like a little Yuletide puppy pee! I'm really glad you're settling in down there & like your job. Is DH missing Beantown though, or does he like it too?

Tricia-- congrats on the weigh-in. Sometimes, not gaining as much as you'd thought is as exciting as losing! Personally, I'm amazed my behind doesn't have its own Zip Code after the amount of Halloween candy I have sucked down.

This morning we shall revisit Toot's Family

Good Thursday Morning

Good for you Tricia. Parties are to enjoy. 1/2 lb. is nothing

Have fun, a lot of stores are already 30%. By Thanksgivings, 50% off they say.
Should I make you a tree skirt out of puppy pads?

Good Morning Sassy Ladies.

Today I'm going on a field trip with Colin's class. We are going to Young Chef's Academy. I'm not sure if they are all around the states are just here but it's where the kids do all the cooking. We went last year and it was a fun time. I wonder what's on the menu today.

Good morning, Sassies! Judi - It's good to see Bonnie's family again. Moose make such good pets! Easy to housebreak and exceptionally helpful when it comes to unloading dishwashers. It's true - look it up!

For your Thursday enjoyment, I am reviving that grand old tradition -- -- The question of the day! Sure, it is stolen from the front page of the CB but so what? Here goes!

What was your favorite book as a kid? For the early years, I would have to say "Best Friends for Frances" and when I was a teenager it was "Where the Red Fern Grows". Of course, I would be remiss if I didn't mention Morris the Moose, which I remember having my dad read to me nightly at my request. Still, Frances wins. She was a feisty little badger.:) What about you, Sassies?

Off to school we go. See you later!

Oohh, I saw that place on TV! I wish we had one around here. It looks like fun!

Good Morning Tricia & Mrs. FoP

No, Young chefs here. Now I know you find that as a suprise.

Wilma, I read all the Nancy Drew books when I was younger, but before that nothing is coming to mind.
