In September, I'm visiting Uni for the first time in several years. I've ridden the Hulk several times (dislike it because of the way it rattles my head around). Reading and seeing things about Velocicoaster and Stardust Racers has made me increasingly nervous about riding either. What are your thoughts on those coasters?

I haven't done any of these but I have heard that Velocicoaster and Stardust are MUCH smoother than Hulk. Would like to get to the point where I can do the first two, zero expectation of trying Hulk due to what I've heard about how shaky it is.

Yes, it is quite the intense pair of coasters. Between both, I think Stardust isn’t going to be as bad as it sounds. VelociCoaster was very fast… as in right from the start fast. You’re going to be launched shortly after leaving the station. If you’re scared of speedy rides like this, it’s ok if you don’t want to go on it. At least it’s not as bumpy as Hulk.

If you do build up the courage to go on either coaster, I would recommend screaming the Loud House theme song when you get to the highest point of either ride. I did this when I went to Busch Gardens a few years ago, and it got me over that part of my life that couldn’t stand coasters like this. It may sound dumb and ridiculous, but believe me it gets you through the G forces much better.

Not sure this helps but...

I was somewhat the same - not so much the jerkiness as they fixed hulk a few years back IMO.
I was concerned about it being more intense.

Anyway spoke with someone from Universal who was a tour guide.

He was saying how he blacks out on Hulk. I know I get very dizzy on Hulk
He said he had no issues with Velocicoaster.

I rode it was much smoother than Hulk IMO and I did not have the same dizzy issues.

OMG I hated Hulk and I LOVE Velocicoaster. I can no longer ride Hulk, Space Mountain, Rockin Roller Coaster or any of the jerky roller coasters.

I'm not big on roller coasters in general. I don't seek them out and can take them or leave them.

I really like Mine Train because it's a smooth, fun ride. But Velocicoaster is my favorite roller coaster. It's VERY smooth.

Don't get me wrong, it is intense as far as a roller coaster goes, but a lot of fun.

My only recommendation is you make sure the harness, or whatever it's called, at your waist/lap is snug enough. The first time I rode it I felt there was too much room and literally thought I was going to be flung out of the ride. The next time was so much better. My absolute favorite roller coaster ever.

Oops. I also love Hagrid's. Just so you know what kinds of roller coasters I enjoy to compare to your likes...

I second this!

I've never done Rip Ride Rocket or Hulk, dislike Rockin' Rollercoaster, but I wanted to try Velocicoaster. If not for this bolded part happening to me as well, I would have LOVED this ride. Super smooth.

I'm still working up the nerve to try it again though LOL

For me, Velocicoaster is a smooth but it is a very intense coaster. You do feel the speed, the Gs but I don't get off feeling like I've been in a battle. I think a lot has to do with the type of restraints. It is a lapbar, so your head doesn't bang around. It is my favorite coaster.

Stardust Racers, OTOH I felt like the movements kept jamming the lap bar into my stomach to the point it hurt. I couldn't really concentrate on the ride. We rode each side once, and that was enough. We go back in September, and it will be DHs first visit so we will probably ride so he can try it. But I am a little apprehensive.
