Morning ladies... (and I use that term loosely;) )

Favorite book(s) as a child, because I can't pick just one... Island of the Blue Dolphins, and also the Borrowers series.

Love that hillbilly montage Judi. Like Wilma said, it's good to see Bonnie's family in happier times.

Have a great field trip Tricia. Hope it's filet mignon and chocolate cake!:thumbsup2

On today's agenda (please, contain your jealousy):

Bathrooms
Vacuum
A little Christmas shopping if time permits

Hi Shannon

I danced with Mr. vacuum yesterday. You always get to lead ya know.

PTC for moi this evening.

Almost forgot... Requested by Bon, about 37 pages back, we are reviving the Word of the Day.

Today's word, one we probably all know but rarely work into our daily conversation is:

Extricate

1 : to distinguish from a related thing
2 : to free or remove from an entanglement or difficulty

Shannon has difficulty extricating herself from her red pleather boots after a long day "in Church."

Happy Friday Eve everybody!!

QOTD~when I was younger my faves were Charlotte's Web and Where the Sidewalk Ends. I also own almost the whole Trixie Belden series (a Nancy Drew type series). I have 2 books I just loved as a pre-teen that I still have in a box somewhere - they were about a group of kids who all became friends living on a military base. I can't remember the titles or the author! But I read those over and over. I also loved the Boxcar Children! :thumbsup2

Word of the day~I have difficulty extricating myself from the dining room table after eating too much on Thanksgiving. :sad2:

Wilma has been known to have trouble extricating herself from the enticing world of internet shopping, but her husband sorely wishes she would.

Hey, Angus - who do you like on Top Chef? I think I like the little ex-busboy dude. Here's hoping for a non-beet heavy season!

Look at this ticker I just swiped from someone on another thread. You think they are excited for Christmas or what? I could so have that ticker in my signature too. :lmao:

Thanks Tricia ;)

Becca, how is your MIL? I'm sorry I keep forgetting to ask.

Have fun, a lot of stores are already 30%. By Thanksgivings, 50% off they say.
Should I make you a tree skirt out of puppy pads?
Maybe I should start looking...
And I think you should :p

Good Morning Sassy Ladies.

Today I'm going on a field trip with Colin's class. We are going to Young Chef's Academy. I'm not sure if they are all around the states are just here but it's where the kids do all the cooking. We went last year and it was a fun time. I wonder what's on the menu today.

Oh that sounds like fun!

For your Thursday enjoyment, I am reviving that grand old tradition -- -- The question of the day! Sure, it is stolen from the front page of the CB but so what? Here goes!

What was your favorite book as a kid?
Song of the Lioness Series although I loved Island o the BLue Dolphins too!

On today's agenda (please, contain your jealousy):

Bathrooms
Vacuum
A little Christmas shopping if time permits
Sounds likes a day I'm glad I don't have :)

Hi Shannon

I danced with Mr. vacuum yesterday. You always get to lead ya know.

PTC for moi this evening.

I made my husband dance with mr. vacuum yesterday :)

Mel, the vacuum belongs to Mr. Judi. :santa: brought it to HIM last year :teeth:

Bex has a difficult time extricating the Goodwill donations from her children's bedrooms. It keeps making its way back to their closets.

QOTD: As a little kid my fave was Daisy Dogs Wake up Book. My mil even found a copy at an antique shop for me. I still love that book. As an older child I loved Black Beauty. As a teenager my favorite book was a collection of Longefellow poems.

Judi, my mil was in the hospital last week again. Her stomach was basically a big ulcer and she had a transfusion. She is looking much better this week and even came over for a visit yesterday. She's going to try to go to my grandma's to play bingo Saturday night. I think she's going a little stir crazy and I know my fil is makeing her cuckoo. If she doesn't get away from him for a bit she may commit murder.:rolleyes1

I kind of like this group on Top Chef. I don't have a favorite yet, but I have an unfavorite. Stephan can get off his European high horse or some will be a peein in his corn flakes.

Do you need some extra pee? I hear that Tricia drinks a lot of water on Wednesdays and could probably spare some pee. Just trying to be helpful.

I hope that Stephan comes back down to earth soon. What an arrogant so-and-so (to quote my mom!)

Prayers for your MIL, Becca. Poor thing! Tomorrow is a sad day at preschool. I am losing one of my favorite students as her parents are getting divorced and part of their divorce settlement requires that she goes to a full day care facility (we are just a half day preschool). Her mother is teary every time I talk to her. She didn't see it going this way, but her ex-husband doesn't want the kids home with her new boyfriend, so off they go. I will miss this little one. She's one of the sunniest students that I have and she really offsets some of the more challenging ones.:guilty:

See you in the morning, ladies!

Good Morning Ladies.

I forgot to answer the question of the day yesterday. In the corner I go. :guilty: My favorite books as a young child was the Clifford the Big Red Dog series. I just loved Emily Elizabeth and her small puppy.

So what's on the agenda today people? I've got a trip to Wally World in my future today after I drop off Gracie to the groomers to get all pretty.

Becca I'm glad to hear you MIL is starting to feel better. I'm sorry about the set back she had.

Judi I think I would get along fabulously with Mr. Judi. I don't mind vacuuming at all.

It's the date with the mop that I dread.

Good morning, Sassies! What's up? TGIF! I am sooooo looking forward to this weekend - we have very little to do. Platelet donation, swim practice and a soccer game on Saturday and nothing on Sunday. But, my mom, sister and I are going on an overnight shopping trip to Richmond on Sunday to bang out some of this Christmas shopping. As a bonus, I am skivving off of work Monday.

QOTD - Are you a Fig Newton fan? I have always thought that fig was an ambitious thing to put in a cookie. I do like them, however. Plus, it is fun to say the word "fig". Go ahead, try it! Repeat the word Fig 10 times fast, and see if you end up smiling!:goodvibes

Off to school I go. See you later!

I'm not a fan of the Fig Newton but I did partake in the Strawberry Newton once or twice. It reminds me of a strawberry poptart. I grew up with a Fig Tree in my backyard but never did eat those little buggers. Stepping on one barefoot isn't fun either.

Fig newtons ::yes::

My Granddaddy always saved me some from his lunch box when I was there.

Got an e-mail from Sears this morning. Kmart & Sears are now offering lay-a-way again. Been a long time since I heard that term.

Hopefully it will help some families this year. :thumbsup2

Happy Friday!!

QOTD~me no likey Fig Newtons. :sad2:

I finally watched Top Chef last night. Stephan is an arrogant PITA!! What a shame cuz he looks like he's going to be one of the best chefs this season. I don't have a favorite yet. I think that Hawaii dude will probably do really well.

This weekend I have a date to clean the house-woo hoo. And put up some Christmas decorations.

I have to say how disappointed I am with the Obama jokes going around. They are all making fun of him for being black! I don't care if you like him or not, this is 2008 not 1950. I can't believe how racist this country still is. I actually received an email with a bunch of pictures of him and his family next to pictures of monkeys! That is totally disgusting! :sad2:
