Bonnie how are you feeling this morning with so little sleep?

Judi I've got a whole pot of coffee, are you still around? Bonnie are you a coffee drinker? Never mind, I remembered you like a Diet Coke from Mickey D's.

Happy Friday Sassys! Its hot, hot, hot here today almost 90. For us thats hot! Needless to say, the air is back on.

Bonnie, we are going to see that movie this evening at an earlier time. I can't do midnight movies any longer. I'm old you know. Hope you get a nap later!
Judi, is it hot up there too? I may need to come up for some relief this weekend. Surely someone else will paint the shed for me right?

I don't even like to go to the 9 PM movies. I'm falling asleep by 11:00. That's probably because I'm older than both of you.

I am quite tired, but I'm off in an hour and 45 minutes and then I'll take a big fat nap! Yep, I'm slurping down my Diet Coke as I write. Nothing beats a diet coke fountain drink. Plus a coworker brought me big fat package of bite-sized Dove chocolates! How can that be beat?

It's overcast here, rain again

I took Mom to the Dr. yesterday. She has gained 8lb. so I checked her feet and hands this morning and it's not fluid.

Then out of the blue she starts *****in about me not feeding her enough protein. So I'm in lovely tears again this morning. She went back to sleep, so all is quiet again. I took my meds. so soon I will be happy, happy, joy, joy

Sorry, I just need to get this out.

An opened bag of chocolates! There is no way I would have any left in that bag by the time work ended.

Bonnie I just saw your thread on Landcaster (Amish Country). We went there a few years ago. I remember taking a tour of a pretzel factory, we rode in one of those little buggies, played mini golf and went to Hershey World. It's such a beautiful area. When do you leave?

Judi 8 lbs. is wonderful. Hang in there my friend. I'm sure she really doesn't mean what she is saying. We know what great care you give your mom.

Judi, I just saw this post on another board and thought I'd share:

I lost my mom at the end of May and I just discovered this book, "Designated Daughter: The Bonus Years with Mom" and wish I'd found it a long time ago.

For all of you "designated daughters" out there, you might want to look for this. I've just started it and it's pretty hard for me to read at times without crying, but it's also been a comfort reading it so far. My situation wasn't exactly like the situation in their story, but that doesn't really matter. The sentiments are the same. And I'm still in the role of "DD" with my dad. And I'm honored to be there for him just as I was honored to be there for my mom, even when I'd complain and show my impatience or frustration, I was still honored to be there for her. I can only hope that she knew that as I probably wasn't that great at letting her know as much as I should have.

Anyway, I thought someone else might be blessed by this book and I just wanted to share the info."

Have an appt. with a new oncol. in August. Reviewed paper work yesterday from the last one and he didn't think at her age it would help. I had just spoke to her surgeon on Wednesday evening and even at stage 3 all other bios were coming back neg. He is certain he got it all this time around. Will it be the last time, no, but this isn't her first rodeo with cancer to begin with.

What does age have to do with anything. You're only as old as you feel.

We sure as hell know, I'm not trying to starve her. 8 lbs in a week is far from it. It just hurt my feelings this morning.

It's actually RAINING here!! WOO HOO! Of course it feels like a swamp outside. We're just not used to any humidity here.

Judi~please feel free to vent any time. That's what are friends for. 8 lbs is fanastic!! I will gladly donate any of my excess lbs to your mom whenever she needs it!

Bonnie~WTH are you doing going to a midnight movie?? I would've fallen asleep in the middle of the movie; I usually don't even make it to 10:00 even on weekends! It sucks getting old!

Becca~you're painting the shed today? What fun-NOT! Isn't that supposed to be what husband's are for?

Found the same image on bucket. The first site I found it on wanted payment, permission slip, credit stated etc. etc. etc. Changed the image and I was very lucky it was a "G" rated change.

Judi chocolate covered strawberries are my favorite!

I'm just getting back from WalMart. I got all of Kendall's supplies today. Everything except the Kleenex and Paper Towels. I just didn't go down that row. I remember as a kid always having cute stuff to start the school year and Kendall enjoys picking out her supplies. Colin on the other hand doesn't really care. Just don't give him anything pink.

Ever notice how cute the composition notebooks are now? When I was little they only came in black and white marble. Now the marble is colored, stripped, shapes and all kinds of cute designs. I just bought Kendall a pink, brown, orange and lime green stripped one. CUTE!

Next week we'll tackle all of Kelsie's stuff. In High School we get no supply list. You just buy what you want or think you might need. The teachers aren't picky or maybe just don't care what you write on. Loose leaf, notebook, keep it in a binder or folder...........whatever.

Becca we rented Boom Blox at the video store. I really like that game and it's one I'll put on the list to buy. Colin is setting up the game now so I'm off to beat that little guy.
