Same-sex weddings in DLR?

One of my good friends (gay male) was wondering if DLR will allow same sex wedding ceremonies now that it is legal in the state of CA. I figured someone on here might know? His partner and him are moving to CA next year, and I'm guessing would be legal CA residence by the time they decided to do this.

Anyone know the answer? Thanks!

Well I know Disney performs commitment ceremonies for same-sex couples through DFTW...so I would assume with the proper officiant it would be legal and such...at least I would hope so!!!

Since this is new in CA I would have him call DL. It has to do with the marriage license I would think. Have him call and find out for sure.

I would imagine it has nothing to do with the marriage license considering Florida doesn't recognize same sex marriage, but Disney allows it to be held at their facilities as a committment ceremony.... I would imagine DL would allow an actual marriage ceremony considering it is now legal... but of course, it's always helpful to call! They'll give you a direct answer!

If you go to the DL Wedding FAQ sticky there is a link to a PJ for a gay couple that is getting married at the DLR. Alhtough, he and his (now husband) already got married just in case this Nov elections change things.

Oh Good point! I had forgotten about that.... I would hate for come November our country takes a step backwards instead of forward...
