Rumoured 8/5 Date For Start Of VGF2 Sales

You’d be surprised what someone with a little talent and ingenuity can pull off. We did our first stay at the Poly studios in Sept 2020 after buying 100 resale points, most restaurants were closed or very limited at best. My wife pre-cooked a bunch of meals and froze them. Between the fridge, microwave, and a breakfast sandwich maker we took with us, we ate the whole week from that kitchenette, we didn’t buy a single meal from Disney. We love 1BR villas, but when we had to make do she pulled off some magic. It was pretty impressive, she’s a real artist!

This is pretty impressive! More than a little ingenuity I would say. Brava.

Anyone get the online add on tool to work for VGF2? I can't see the option yet.

I know some people use a crock pot too which can be great for a studio stay.

Not now, anyway!

We already bought them all!

Better luck next time.
C’mon man, spread them around. Kicking myself for not buying some resale ones back in 2017 when we joined DVC. I missed a 50 point resale contract one this year that was at a great price. Someone else on the Disboards got it. Saw it on the ROFR thread and it passed.

I hear you. I'm kicking myself for not buying more of them when I bought in a few years ago! I should have known 50 points was never going to satisfy us.

We've been talking about going up to 100. But just last night my wife started talking about how the kids had such an amazing time, maybe we should consider going even more often. How much more is 150?

And now I think I understand how Disney is eventually going to consume the vast majority of all of our vacation budgets.

I would never make it on 50 points!
This time last year, I owned none. If my most recent resale passes ROFR, I'll be at 530 points. And I wish I could have bought a few years ago.

If VGF2 is part of the original VGF association, the only way they can sell points is to dedicate rooms. Since they're not even close to finishing renovations on anything, I don't see them being able to sell points.

In addition, this is VGF we're talking about. They won't take shortcuts to put slightly updated hotel rooms without all the studio amenities into the association, even if listed as a separate studio category.

I think the official announcement will come about the same time they released the new Disneyland AP info a few days ago, around 1PM Pacific Time. Probably making last minute tweaks to the studio renderings right now!! Getting excited!
:)

We heard from a guide when we did a tour last month that they would be Resort Studios with no kitchenette.
Something tells me these comments are just as unreliable as the 8/5 rumor.

You're talking to a sales guide who is trying to sell you what's currently available. He/she wants to make the stuff that's not yet available seem as unappealing as possible.

Yeah, it was silly.

At the time we were just a couple with a little one on the way. We were extremely budget conscious and hadn't yet dipped our toes in the waters of DVC.

A 50 point contract was all I could get her comfortable with. And it allowed us to say "Look, we can stay a whole week at the VGF in a studio once every 3 years. That will be so nice for our little family!"

Then we got one taste of actually staying in the resort, in a 1-bedroom no less, and of course we now need a bunch more!
