There is no logic behind how Disney gives people free upgrades. I received our Cruise Docs yesterday and we were not upgraded. If you really want an upgrade, you can pay for an upgrade at the port. I'm still hoping for an upgrade when we check in at the port, but I'm not holding my breath for it.

I haven't got my docs yet I am so jealous Seriously, I am glad you have your docs, because I know mine are coming soon.

I'm sure that your docs will be arrving soon. We booked directly through DCL, so that's probably why we got our docs before you.

I don't remember ever getting my docs before the 2 week mark. I am mad that I didn't get anything on the excursions, though. I haven't bothered calling b/c we don't plan on doing any. Thanks for the countdown clock. 38 days sounds so much better than 5 weeks.

I am sure your 6 yo. ds will have a magical time on this cruise. It will be so special for you all.
I have never been on DCL either, so we are waiting with great anticipation. I just read where one of the nicest posters got a verandah from a cat. 9. I am so happy for him.

We faxed in our Excursion Request Form already and DCL has confirmed that we will be on all the excursions that we requested!

What excursions are everyone going on?

We are doing everything on our own. Been to both islands a few times before and prefer the flexibility to go and do what we want when we want.

I may have to parasail on Castaway Cay though - always wanted to try that.

Also, for the questions regaring what there is for kids to do, there are nagivators which list the daily activities for every age group posted at the site www.castawayclub.com, along with a ton of other helpful information.

Still waiting on the cruise docs, I think they should be arriving any day.

Also, as far as upgrades go, they really are rare. It seems they happen to those in Cat 11 and Cat 10, when they are sold out they bump people up to other cats to try and fill the ship. Having the balcony is a nice perk for sure, but there really is nothing wrong with the inside cabins.

We're doing our own thing too. Our kids are too young for DCL excursions, so we'll just hit some beaches w/our sand toys. I think I'd like to try Coral World, Coki Beach and a bit of shopping. Hopefully ther will be enough time for all of it. We've been on 2 previos DCLs (both 4 days). We were fortunate enough to get an upgrade the last time. Since my mom will be w/us this time, I hope to spend even less time in the cabin, so an outside cabin would be nice, but no biggie. I'm just psyched to see a part of the ship we've never seen (the clubs/nightlife).

Do you get your money back if the weather is bad on the day we order our excursions if we order them through DCL?

I think you will only get your money back if the excursion is cancelled. I'm not 100% sure on this.

Many of the excursions involve some form of boat ride. I know that if the seas are rough enough for them to almost cancel, they usually give you the option of passing and obtaining a refund.

I don't know if they cancel for rain, but we are not going to have rain on our cruise so don't worry about it.

I second the motion for no rain. After being on DCL during Hurricane Floyd, the sun better shine the whole cruise.

I haven't even gotten my docs yet At least I am happy for you all. Upgraded yet? I doubt if I will get an upgrade, because we had a set room, not guaranteed. Oh well, still happy to be going in a month.

We were not upgraded. Maybe at check-in, they will upgrade us.

Hey guys,

Just wanted to stop back by and say hello.

Scott and I are doing no excursions, the only plans we have is to meet a former CM that is now with Empress of the Sea at St Martin. To us this is just a warm up cruise-we cruise again with my family October 11th.
