Bonnie: You plan way too much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take it easy, you are on vacation!

I tried posting this morning, but all I got was "server not found", plus it was incredibly slow!!!!!!!

We leave 1 month from tomorrow!!!!!!

Not to worry Denine I am very flexible. Plans can change but the important thing to figure out was the dining rotation and Palo's so we wouldn't be doing it on a "special" night or when we are scheduled for Animator's (love that place).

Should we meet just after the DCL party so nobody misses the characters and the cast members dancing on the dock? I'm thinking of the kids. Last year we stayed up on deck 10 and watched from above that way we avoided the big crowd below.

We leave 1 month from tomorrow!!!!!!

We'll be thinking of you all that week Denine. And turning a little green with envy :bounce:

If I am this excited with still over a month to go, what am I going to be like a week or the day before the cruise?????????????

Poor Joyce. No one to defend her honor. She can't help it if she is under the table with one glass of wine. I can drink alot of beer but sometimes wine throws me for a loop too.

Just couldn't let a day go by without posting and reading.

Hey, I like to play volleyball! Man, I now see the error of my thinking. There is way too much fun stuff on DCL for adults to do, to be thinking that you must have kids at your knee to justify the price. Sandy tried to explain that to me a LONG time ago, but I'm slow:rolleyes: .

Who said they collected Walt pins? Dudette #1? I got the #99 Walt and Mickey pin (in "gold") and it's not what I expected. Do you have it already?

We could call it a "Tequila shooter's with beer chasers" party, but wine just sounds more Ladylike. :jester: Anyone who prefers another drink, bring it, just be sure and come!

Hey, I've lost TWO pounds!:bounce:
See ya:wave:

Guess what Lori--I found your two pounds. Congratulations!! (To you, not me.)

Bonnie, didn't get my new underwear like you yet but wanted you to know that I LOVE my over the door shoe thing. It works wonders in a small bathroom. Last time it really helped my DD and myself. This time it will be just my DH and me and still plan to bring it.

Who was it earlier (don't have time to scan posts) that talked about drunk door knocking...Haha.

I am so happy to know that you all are putting us on your official schedules for Sunday. Joyce and I are so fortunate to have friends like you. Now...the tequila shooter folks, well, I don't know...

I so love looking at the posts each day, it really gives me a laugh.

Am so excited now that I am hovering over DD every night to just, "pull off one more chain Clare, pull it off!!!" She is telling daddy that I am crazy. Nice, huh?!

I'm getting excited for docs. I know the first will post here.:Pinkbounc

Rambling now, maybe it was that glass of wine..........(trailing off)
Krista

I don't have an over-the-door shoe thingy, but have one that straps onto the closet rod. Is there enough room (about 7" across) to spare in the closets??

No other additions for the general itinerary?
Diana, you caught that the 'formal photo-op' would run into the prev. wine party time... any other must plan around shipboard events for me to consider?

Glad to here there is another volleyballer out there! I love to play and was so excited when I saw it on a navigator. Any others for volleyball?
So much fun so little time! With everything cramed in we may have to extend the wine party later in the week so we can catch up with all we've been doing on the cruise.

There isn't a lot of closet room. Of course your talking about 3 women sharing a room so it may be better for a couple. The ovre the door shoe holder was only about $6 in Wal Mart and I know we will be cruising again so worth the investment. Last year we didn't have one and it was tight in the bathroom.

No kids needed on the DCL! It is just as fun without them (maybe more so, no worries). I was able to get my kid fix last year at dinner. I had a wonderful 10 yr dinner companion named Robert. Although he did skip a night of dinner for the club one nite.

Krista, I may have to make a chain for myself. It sounds like great fun. Thanks for being such a sport and providing us with some good laughs! Poor Joyce has yet to defend her honor.

Weight loss: I am still shooting for the 75# goal before the cruise but I don't think I will make it. Oh well, at least I look better than last year.

Look forward to hearing from all of you! I even let the people at work read our posts. They get a kick out of them.

Aren't I the chatty one now! It's contagious

I am supposed to lose 10 pounds before the cruise. Guess what? It isn't working. How am I supposed to lose it when a co-worker keeps bringing in cake and brownies. It is just a good thing I don't like baklava, there was some homemade in the breakroom. Plus, they serve bacon with breakfast once a week. How can I feed it to the residents and smell it and not have any?
I didn't have any of the brownies today either.

It is a bit of a somber day. The caregivers dressed all the residents in red, white and blue. Everyone looked nice. They are having lunch with some firefighters today. I am wearing my DVC mickey flag pin.

Hopefully I will get my docs today!

Somber day here too. The kids and I all have on our USA shirts and the flag is flying. Would LOVE to say I was wearing MY Mickey pin from DVC but they REFUSED to send me one ("we only are sending them to people who LIVE in the US, it doesn't matter if you are a US citizen living in a different country we still can't send you one") :(

The good thing is we are watching PAST events and not NEW events!

Hi there everyone! I'm boardwalk Garry's wife and we JUST got our DOCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is 12:50pm in Ohio and the fed Ex man JUST LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see you all! I'm getting our wine ready! Hope everyone else will be getting there Docs today or very soon!

I'm a little excited! I was feeling a little blue today because of last year and my husband being a police officer, but this brightened up the day!

Yes, it is a somber day. I, too, am wearing a flag shirt w/my Mickey flag pin from WDW. Flying the flag outside the house. Went shopping and everyone seems to be "somewhere else".

Lori, I don't think that there is that much room in the closet. You might want to rethink.

Wildernessgirl--I was suppose to be the first with the docs and then run to the computer. It's just not fair. Oh well, at least we all know they are coming.

Denine, I know what you mean when you are around food at work. When we camp, the older women are always baking and sharing. Don't want to hurt feelings so you EAT. I always gain in the summer and lose in the winter. The opposite of most people. Oh well, I will still have a good time.

Krista, I KNOW who started the door knocking thing and it wasn't YOU. Just wanted to help you in your defense. Won't mention the name that did start it. Maybe she will come out of the closet.

Don't even read this. I'm just venting.

Still there, OK, here's the latest...
Yippee, I've just been named my daughter's "Room Mom". (Funny, I didn't even check off that box at registration. I think I volunteered for about 15 other jobs and committees, however.) So, I need to pull together a Halloween party and would like to have the ideas in place *before* the cruise. Anyone been there/done that? Any novel ideas of what to do with 4th graders in a cramped space with judgmental parents looking on. There's a few loud parents proclaiming that to celebrate Halloween is worshiping Satan, etc. Funny, I grew up trick-or-treating and never practiced that. So, I'm thinking I'd better leave out the human sacrifices and candle ceremonies. Maybe next year. ;) Oh, hey! If we don't finish off that Vampire wine, I'll bring it in and tell those parents that it's in the punch! .. Sorry, I'm drifting here. Can you tell I'm a little on edge about this? Katie's really happy that I'm doing it, so I'm going to try and do a really good job. I'd love it if I hadn't seen the abuse that previous Room Mom's have taken from parents already. That's probably why the job had to be assigned this time. It used to be a coveted job. Well, I feel better already, thanks for listening to me and for any input you might have.

Denine - that baklava would do me in. Love It.
"Hi" to Bonnie's co-workers.(.. does she get any work done? :smooth: )
Lori

Been there done that!!

I raised 4 kids and was a room Mom every year from kindergarden
to 6th grade For all the kids. It was a trick running numerous parties at the same time. I loved it. I was surprised that so many parents were so unwilling to help at all. I organized all the parties and had 2 girl scout troops to boot. I use to make cute little bags and fill them with candy. I bought cute little pumkin material and actually sewed the bags. (I am not a sewer) I am also not much into Halloween so I respect others parents feelings on it but as a kid I really loved dressing up and trick or treating so I also allowed my kids to partcipate in all it. We did the punch with dry ice thing and I usually found some other little trinket to make them. It was loads of fun!

At Christmas I would make stocking with their names on them and fill them to. Once year we made ginerbread men and put each kids name on them that was way to much work!

I also entered 2 floats in the Parade of Lights downtown. I loved being a parent can you tell. I guess I will always be a kid at heart which explains the Disney craze!!

Oops

Hope I didn't sound braggy. I didn't mean to come off that way
. :(

But the time and money I invested it those years was such a
reward in itself. I know you will love being room Mom. Especially when other kids tell your daughter how lucky she is to have such a great Mom.
