*Cue shriek of excitement* I have the opportunity to go down to Orlando for work next month and will be taking an extra day to go to the parks!! I've been to WDW a few times before so I know my way around - but this will be my first time going completely alone! I am so excited!

So what would YOU do with a whole day to yourself? I do have a Hopper ticket for the day (which I believe requires a park reservation - so I just need to reserve my first park correct? And can hop at any time after that?)

I'll be there on May 4th - so will be avoiding Hollywood Studios for sure (it's my least favorite park anyway). Was thinking of starting at AK, then finishing the day at MK?

So many possibilities!!

There are so many possibilities open to you!! It really depends on your personal touring preferences. I would enjoy a mixture of rides (Guardians for sure) plus leisurely strolling through the Flower and Garden Festival in Epcot. I would purchase LL for that day as starting in AK means I would pay the least amount of money for it but throughout the day I could use it in all the parks.

May I ask when you purchased your ticket? Very few tickets require park admission these days unless it’s possibly linked to the work event you are attending? If so, please ensure to read all the potential restrictions to such tickets.

So happy for you! My ideal solo day would include a good chunk in AK, because my family never wants to go there and it used to be my favorite park. I would love to stroll and soak up the details, watch the animals, and enjoy a stop at Nomad Lounge, in addition to riding Flight of Passage and the Safari. I like the idea of hopping to MK later. I'm kind of EPCOT'ed out at the moment, haha, but I do love Flower and Garden.

That seems like a great plan, especially starting at Animal Kingdom when it is cooler and less crowded. A solo day gives you the freedom to move at your own pace, enjoy shows, and revisit favourite rides. Ending at Magic Kingdom for the evening atmosphere and fireworks can make the day feel very special and memorable.

ONE DAY? I'd buy whatever ticket is cheapest, add hopper to it, and start there. That would probably be AK, which is fine by me, it's my favorite park. I am not at all into the big rides that have long lines but my family is, so we never get to do the low-key things (costs too much for tickets to ask folks to 'waste' their admission just wandering around). I'd wander the trails that surround the Tree of Life, checking out the animals. I'd ride the Safari and see the Lion King show. I'd have a bloody mary at Dawa Bar. I might stop at Nomad for lunch noshing, but I am not as much in love with it now that it's so popular and packed with families/kids. I miss the old days when it was mostly empty, a quiet oasis where you could have a drink at the bar and chat with the bartenders. After my AK excursion, I'd go to either Epcot to experience whatever festival is happening, or to MK to do my favorite rides... Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder, Buzz Lightyear, PeopleMover. I'd finish the day with either the parade/fireworks at MK, fireworks at Epcot, or hop over for a late showing of Fantasmic! at DHS. THEN off to one of my favorite bars for a nightcap (Ale&Compass? Polite Pig?) if there is time!

Rope Drop HS, walk on ToT, single rider MFSR, $LL RotR, Ronto Wrap, LL TSM.
Hop to Epcot. single rider TT, walk about World of Water.
Hop to MK. Tron, Buzz, BTMRR, HM, Tiana's, 7 Dwarfs. (use whatever LLMP selections I can get or use $LL if needed) Liberty Tree Tavern supper,
Hop back to HS for LL Slinky, Villains, Fantasmic

Plan is to see the new and do the upgraded (along with a couple favorites)

You've got a good outline for me! I'd buy MPLL AK. Start AK for the Safari, maybe gorilla trail, definitely tiger trail, Everest. WL for lunch at Geyser Point or CR for lunch at S71 bar. MK and then hop to EP for the evening having dinner there, LL GOTG, end the evening at Geo 82 & enjoy fireworks there.

Reality modifications- LLs and Geo 82 res. That ADR is hard to get, especially 7:30 or later so prob not happening but I'd stalk it up until afternoon of just in case! The actual plan would be AK tap into the first LL I can to unlock the MK stuff, LL safari if morning hours available and stack MK LLs. If nothing good was available in the morning at AK for LLs I'd buy MKLL instead and lock down 3 rides I knew I'd like. GOTG LL would be the first thing I check when booking LLs but would likely be booked that late even at night so I'd end up skipping it, I'm not waiting in that line. I'd still hop to EP for a late dinner, and meander my way to France so I can get a flute of champagne at the end of the evening to enjoy while I watch fireworks somewhere slightly removed from crowds, hopefully where I could sit on something because my feet would be ready to divorce me and I don't care about the water stuff or somewhat obstructed views.

I love going solo. Do whatever YOU want to do. If you enjoy planning things, plan what you want to do. If you prefer to see where the day takes you, do that! That's the thing - you can do whatever you want. It's the best.

I love wandering AK solo. It’s the most relaxing, I think. If there are no rides that are on your must-do list you could just play it by ear. AK in the morning, MK afternoon, then drink and snack around the monorail resorts. Or end the night with dinner at Epcot.

Lucky you!
I'd walk the trails at AK, ride Slinky Dog Dash, take in Flower and Garden focusing on the topiaries and landscaping. I would definitely make time for the butterfly experience too! I would get a bucket of maple popcorn and take it to MK to enjoy while I watched the fireworks and night parade.

Have a great day whatever you decide to do!!!

If you love AK - I would buy the LLMP for AK because it is the cheapest. Then I would ride Safari and see the Lion King Show. I would start planning to hop after first scanning in to unlock LL for MK later. TBH I'm not an AK fan - but you are so go for it!
I would wander World Showcase and explore the details of all of the countries that my family doesn't prioritize, since they love the rides more than I do. I would do all of the movies/shows. I would ride SE, GotG, LwtL, Nemo, Ratatouille, 3 Caballeros, and Test Track. I would get snacks and drinks at the festival booths.
I would hop to MK and slowly wander there, as well. I love PP, Pirates, Jungle, HM, I would ride the People Mover and soak it all in. I would probably eat at CHH and choose a second floor table by the window. Later, I would get a Dole Whip for dessert. I would watch the fireworks from behind the castle for a less crowded experience.

I would choose the SR line for the rides that have them!

You are going to have a wonderful time no matter what!

It partly depends on what type of person you are and your age. My first solo trip was more than 30 years ago, when I had kids at home and I could go all day. I spent it in MK opening to closing. Mid-day I ate in PVH, overlooking IASW, waving at all the boats. Then I took the monorail to the GF, got a cocktail and just sat in the lobby listening to the piano player for a while. Then I was recharged until park close. Now my ideal day involves Animal Kingdom (my favorite park), going to Rafiki's Planet Watch to see the veterinary procedures in the morning, wandering the trails around the Tree of Life, going on both Gorilla Falls and the trail in Asia, and hopefully staying until it gets dark to admire Pandora. And going on my favorite ride, Kilimanjaro Safari, a couple times. And stopping to eat whenever I'm hungry.

Thanks for the ideas friends! I think I might be super ambitious and attempt a 4 park 1 day ;)
I don't know when I'll be able to go to Disney alone again so this will be a good opportunity...

Just beware of something with your revised plan! You mentioned avoiding HS on May 4th. That was great advice. But now if you're planning all 4 parks that day, it is possible that HS will reach crowd capacity - I believe it has happened because that date is so popular. If you want to do all 4 parks, you might need to get a park reservation for HS and start your day early there. If you try to enter later, you might have to wait awhile due to capacity.

Have fun, however you decide to spend your day!

Yes good point! Thank you! :)

I'd walk all the trails in AK, do the safari, the bird show and have a leisurely lunch at Nomad lounge.
In MK I'd ride the People Mover until they kicked me off, especially during the fireworks.
I'd close out MK and leisurely check out any store are open while the crowd heading out dies down.

I love that-and I've done it! Another great one I really loved was in Epcot WS. I browsed in every shop in every country, with no one asking me every 2 minutes, "Can we go now?" or "Are you done yet?"

I personally would skip HS because it's May the 4th and that just sounds crazy to me. I would start at AK and do Flight of Passage, Na'vi, Safari and Expedition Everest single rider. Then I would hop to MK and do my favorite rides there. I would finish with Epcot because I absolutely LOVE their nighttime show and wandering World Showcase. I would definitely purchase LL and try to get some rides with shorter wait times!

My husband and I did this. Took a whole day to snack around World Showcase and enjoy the pavilions. We did the front of the park another day.
