Rise of the Resistance BOARDING GROUPS Superthread Part 2 *No Ride Spoilers Please* *PLEASE READ POSTS 1-3*

Got group 50 this morning! I’m thinking WS is having a positive effect on being able to get RotR in the morning, even if they still go quickly.
Maybe, but there's still a capacity for DL that's being reached daily, so same number of people starting in the park trying for Rise. Only thing different is people going to DCA that day have something to try for at 7am now too. I could see that happening a bit more for the noon drop though as people that started in DCA and didn't get a WS bg would try again rather than looking at hopping and going for RotR.

Got the whole family to practice for the first time today. We'll do it for real in two weeks!

We all got as far as selecting your tickets but then we all got the red "Something went wrong message." I haven't seen this before. Is that just because we don't have reservations today? Or would we have been shut out?

It means the boarding groups were all gone. When practicing outside of your reservation days, after selecting your tickets, it would have taken you to a page that said you don't have park reservations today and an option to de-select people.

Re: atomic clocks… it’s going to be just me, solo, trying for BGs in two weeks. I just checked on my Fitbit watch and the time isn’t exact! What app can I use where I can keep an eye on the atomic clock up in the corner of my phone so as to click right at 6:59:59?

So I was back to work today for the first time in 15 months and used my phone’s cellular connection to practice. Failed at both 7am and 12pm. That has never happened to me before using my home wifi. Now I am worried for my trip if I have to use my cell data. I will have my husband trying at home since he’s not coming, and it looks like I’ll have to rely on him.

I'm sure someone here will know.

I currently have two sets of tickets loaded onto my app. One park per day, 2- day tickets for me and my husband and park reservations for July, and 3 day PHs for me and my son and reservations for October.

Is there anyone who has had two different sets of tickets like that and still successfully gotten a BG? (I am reading about not having to "check" any boxes at 0700).

Oh and I also have my "legacy pass" barcode on there too (not that it does me any good as it expires before we go, but....)

I had different tickets for different weeks & different people groups last month, along with a legacy code. I got a RotR BG each day. The app looks for both tickets and park reservations in the BG process. It picked the right tickets and people each day based on my park reservations.

I've been meaning to post about this. We were in the park for 2 days over Memorial Day weekend. We couldn't get a BG on Sunday because the ride was closed completely that day. On Monday, we didn't get a BG at 7:00am because 1) my Legacy pass was in the app, and 2) someone else in my party had tickets and reservations for a future date in addition to that day's tickets.

Unlike the report above from Mathmagicland, we found that the Legacy Pass and the future tickets completely eliminated the chance of getting a BG. When we went thru the process, the app took me to a screen that showed my Legacy Pass, and asked if I wanted that person removed from the group. I honestly do not know the exact verbiage because I was trying to click it away as fast as humanly possible so that I could still try for a BG. But no luck.

Our group had practiced for days, and had always gotten to the Join Group button successfully. But the Legacy Pass and those future tickets for sure messed us up.

Edit: Also wanted to add that there was a happy ending to the story, as the CM at Guest Services took care of us! Amazing ride, and totally worth the hassle that we went through to ride it.

Just curious about additional information, did you check any boxes while on the ticket screen or did you immediately click join thinking it selected the right tickets for you?

I had selected all (which is what I had practiced doing at home). However, on Sunday (the 1st day in the parks, when the ride was closed)...I had gone to Guest Services to add my Legacy Pass so I could get discounts on mobile food orders. I realized that this was going to be a problem, but once it was added, I had no way to unlink it (unless someone knows something I don't). I was going to do a separate post about this...maybe I still will.

I also had two sets of tickets, one set for 2 people in May and one set for 5 people in June. When we went in May it automatically selected the 2 tickets that were valid that day.

I didn't personally have the additional tickets -- someone else in my group did, and I'm reporting what she told me. But I didn't see it for myself, so who knows.

But I personally had the problem with the Legacy Pass. It took me to a screen that asked if I wanted to remove that from the group since it wasn't valid (again, I don't remember the exact wording since I was in a panic and was trying to quickly bypass that screen). By the time I did that, the BGs were gone.

So you clicked select all? On the day you are trying for a boarding group, there is no reason to hit “select all” as this will indeed select all available tickets plus the Legacy Passes attached to your account. All you need to do when you reach the screen that lists your tickets is click join, as the system will automatically recognize and select only your valid tickets and not your Legacy pass.

Hmm. It all happened so quickly :-) If there was an option to select all, then I did it. So maybe I messed it up? I know that I practiced by selecting all, so if that option was still there on the real day...then I probably still selected all.

Select all will definitely cause problems if you have other tickets or a Legacy Pass. I don’t understand why that select all button is even there. It’s nice to use to quickly click through when practicing from home, but serves no purpose except to cause errors for people when actually trying to get a boarding pass.

This is a really good point!
