Riddling today?

Thanks, Glo. I'd like to thing that this morning's riddle is a hug.

Regardless of what your political beliefs are, and regardless of what you think of this war, all of you are DIS friends of mine - and of ALL of us here on the riddle.

Reading that back, I sense that it sounds a bit cliquish, that's not the intent - I guess that I really mean to say that there are no judgements being made here, about anyone. That has always felt very good to me.

So yeah.......{{hugs}} to all of you. :)

Laura, go. The die is cast and nothing is going to change that. But at the same time, we will all continue to live our lives. You have 2 more weeks to see the world situation. If at the end of that time, you are unhappy with the way things are progressing, then cancel.

Hugs to you. I was in that situation after 9/11 and we went on our cruise. It was the best thing we could have done. We all needed a break from reality.

Laura - I saw you mention your friend on another thread last night and I can understand your thoughts. We went to WDW in October, 2001 and wondered if we should. Just as others have said in this thread, it's important that we maintain our lives. You should go.

I'd go, Laura.

I think that those who are serving would expect us to carry on with our lives. It is exactly that reason that they are fighting. :)

I have a girlfriend who is trying to talk me out of going to WDW as scheduled. She doesn't seem to think it will be safe. I am still going! I refuse to live my life in fear.....I will feel safe there. DH & I discussed it last night & we both feel like we need to go on as planned. What do you guys think..........would you go?
Absolutely, :ARS! We talked about it too last night. We went to the MOA last night, and that is what got the discussion started. I think that will be as much or more of a target than WDW, because it smacks of American capitalism.

I think of the riddle as a (HUG) everyday, Bern!

Oh, shoot. You mean I've been hugging all of you all this time without brushing my teeth?? ;)

Thanks guys! Yesterday at breakfast I was looking at a table of blank faces when I said I was still going. I needed to hear that it was the right thing to do. The children have been sooooo excited about it I don't want to disappoint them either. They will be confused & worried enough about the war & will enjoy the escpe too.

Yeah, and some of us have coffee breath too!:p

Thanks for such thought provoking words this morning Bernie. Last night at scouts it was the webelos-scout crossover so I presented a slide show of the past 5 years for the boys and the leaders who were moving on.....it was immediately followed by an announcement that two of our families had dads leaving today for the war effort. Very sad and very emotional, knowing we won't see these guys for at least another year.

officially, there were 20 alternate answers to yesterday's riddle...my own ERROR was using a riddle with so many alternates...but it was fun none-the-less.

Now, as for the riddle today, I believe what they have in common, is that I cannot spell any of them!!!!

Another cup of coffee and I'll be human again.....

Oh Laura, YOU HAVE TO GO....

The way I look at it, we can't control things that are bigger than us, and you're all going to be together in the happiest place on earth....besides....you got my underwear order to fill....bawahahaaha

seriously GF, you gotta go!!!!!!!

Stephanie - I hope that those dads are home again soon.

Sometimes it's hard to see all tose alternate answers coming! The riddle bunch can be very creative. :)

Thanks again for filling in. :)

God Bless the USA! I am praying for a quick resolution to all of this mess and for the safety of our troops.

I agree - it's important to carry on with our lives to maintain a sense of normalcy. So Laura, go on that trip and Bernie, keep those riddles coming!

Stephanie, your slide show sounds wonderful. I would love to put something like that together for my son's group who will be crossing over next year. Are you still humming "Teach Your Children Well"?;) :p

Prayers for all the kids whose dads are away at war. I think we forget to pray for those left behind sometimes.

LK, the first half was "Teach your children well" and the second half was "Time in a bottle" which was the leader portion...the poem that we ended with was:

For all your time and trouble,
Dedication to the cause,
For your care and understanding,
Selfless giving without pause;

You have set the best example
For our Scouters and each boy,
You have always stood to help us
Through both tragedy and joy;

We may not have given credit
Each time that it was due,
But we hope you know our feelings
As we give our thanks to you;

Though good-byes are now upon us,
May we wish for you, our friend,
That our time apart be shortened,
And our paths may cross again.

I'm going to take out the boys names and then post it on our district web-site, I'll send you the address when I do that.

I just heard we have SNOW coming again tonight!!!:mad: We had rain all last night, and I was hoping it would help to get rid of the ground frost, but snow doesn't help at all!

That poem is just wonderful, Stephanie.

Oh, shoot. You mean I've been hugging all of you all this time without brushing my teeth??....and in my jammies, too!....and coffee breath...

And bedhead!

Haven't a clue on the riddle, but thanks for posting, Bernie.

(((((HUGS))))) to everyone, along with prayers that this will be over soon. May all the moms and dads, sons and daughters be brought back safely to the waiting arms and hugs of their families.

Laura, we do need to keep the normalcy in our lives. Go, enjoy, and I, for one, will be envying you as you are there! :p :D I'm planning on taking my 2-maybe 3-daughters in the summer.

Have a good day, everyone. Spring arrives at tonight! YEAH!!!
