Remembering "Live From the 8/19/06 Magic"

Tell Angelina to send Captain Jack my love...lol. He was one of the highlights of our cruise.

My kids and I cannot wait to meet Captain Jack. I keep showing them the pics of him on the boards. It will be great to talk with him. My DS 4 saw a pic and saw that he has a sword and got so excited!

Only 2 more weeks!

Love reading your Blog Verandah Man! Your daughter has grown up so much, I can't believe it! She is beautiful! She's turning into a gorgeous young lady.

I can't believe Slash is on your crush. Wonder if he'll jump on stage for pirate night :thumbsup2 pirate: Let us know if you get to the bridge and blow that Mickey horn again! Lucky you! :goodvibes :wizard:

Glad to hear that all went as you hoped!! Sounds like yall are having a great time.

We future cruisers have a question for those on a current cruise. It's being reported on Passporters that Disney is no longer doing the pillowcase signing. Is there anyway someone who is on a current cruise could let the rest of us know if this is true or not? TIA!

Sorry I'm a little slow in responding - I finally got a chance to sit down and read your live reports. Great job Veranda Man! We were on the July 22nd Double Dip - I feel like I'm still there! esp. with all the pictures! Hard to believe a month has gone by!
Amlee - about the pillowcases - I dropped off at guest services 4 pillowcases & 8 markers (I put them in the extra large ziplock bag - wrote all the instructions, name & cabin # on the front) - They were delivered to our cabin on friday - all done - they came out great! I haven't washed it yet - so I hope - the permanent markers are permanent. My DD embroidered the names on the pillowcases with my sewing/embroidery machine - we're giving them as gifts - to my nieces. Better than an autograph book!
Enjoy your cruise everyone. Say hi to Party Paul! :wave2: We loved playing Bingo with him!

OK, I haven't seen him yet, but the man at the table next to us, saw him on deck 10 yesterday afternoon. At least now I know who to be looking for.

Weather has not been very nice today, a lot of rain and thunderstorms in the area. I'm glad we stayed onboard today.

I have seen Slash several times (Yuuuuck!) He was at Topsiders the other day only wearing shorts so we could see every tattoo and body piercing (Well, who knows, maybe not everyone) ;) . Not really conducive to eating food. Sorry to be conservative, but it is far from attractive.

I filled out a slip and left it at the booking desk, I put down a fake date for the end of 2007 that I will be able to change for the summer of 2008 after those dates open up.

My DD is getting ready so she can get her photo with Captain Jack Sparrow before dinner tonight. It was cute, last night my DD was going to all the photo stations having her picture taken. Then she was upset because Shutters was closed today while we are docked at Cozumel. I guess I'll be buying some more pics later this evening, LOL!!!

Hey Andy - I called Jocelyn Robinson (DCL Sales Manager) and booked a fake date for 2008 too. I suspect we will do what the Crusin' Castaways want to do in 2008, but are leaning towards 08/23/08

We went to see "Cars" at the Walt Disney Theatre this evening and were surprised at the line of people trying to get their photo taken with Captain Jack. Since we are not huge fans of the POC movies we just kept going.

What date is everyone looking at in 2008?

I'm really enjoying your posts.

Buddy Bear, how is the suite---I'm sure you are really enjoying it. If you see Chuck Maida again tell him that Beth from Pittsburgh says hi. I keep hoping we cruise with him some time, but i have only talked to him on the phone and enjoyed great service from his company.

The end of the week is here and I know how hard that is on a cruise. Sigh

So you had a "celebrity" onboard--I wouldn't recognize him--I'm guessing he's there with family.

Enjoy the last few days.
Andy I'll have to look back for the link to your blog--haven't been able to check it out yet.

Hi all from deck 3

It was a sea day today, so we attended the cruise again and vacation club sales show.

Well to make a long story short,

We started the paperwork today and now are showing a new magnet on our door.

Its says, Welcome Home .

Yep we did it.

Catch you later.

Ed
Welcome home! (It's one of the best purchases I've ever made. :thumbsup2 )

I'm still on my laptop, so will make this quick, I just posted yesterday's blog report with some pics on my website(link below in siggie). I have to get back to our cabin as we have our Palo Brunch this morning. :wave2:

Andy, glad to read you are having a great time!!

Another great entry. Enjoying the reports! So glad you are having fun!

A quick thank you to all you cruis'in posters! Thanks for taking the time out to share your fun and MAGIC with us! You can tell by reading all of the posts how much joy you bring to us land lubbers!
Thank you! :grouphug:

O.k., now I'm obsessing about Slash, although as mentioned before, not even a fan. I'd LOVE to see his bar bill!!!! Also wondering what he's wearing to formal night etc. Is he posing for pics, can you buy them at Shutters!!!?? Boy wouldn't that be a good blackmail pic? Slash and Mickey! I'm just curious as to why he chose Disney. Probably because that would be the last place his fans would be!! lol! Is he with family, kids, etc.? DH saw him at a bar in Cleveland this winter and was standing right next to him. He said he's pretty little, about 5'5".

Anyhow, isn't Thurs. on the cruise a bummer? The day you get your tip envelopes!! Waaahhhh! That means it's almost over. We got them after the morning hostess service instead of at the evening turndown like we used to get them. I'll have to check out your blog for the day. Keep it coming! I REALLY need to finish us my trip report, but have been so busy since we got back.

Just finished our brunch at Palo and are not headed for the 2pm show of Disney Dreams, at 3:30 we will be having a group photo taken in front of the Mickey statue on deck three, the Angelina and I will be going to see the movie "Cars" followed by dinner. Tonight is Semi-Formal night with lobster tails and warm chocolate lava cake for desert, yum! yum!

Haven't heard when the 2008 dates will be announced, but it appears as half our group is looking at 8/16/08 and the other half is looking at 8/23/08 for their 2008 cruise.

Well, I'll check back in later. Bye for Now. :wave2:

At this point the talk is either 08/16/08 or 08/23/08. For some I think it will depend on itinerary. Many of us are booking fake dates to get the onboard credit and then we will change to one of the above dates.

We will probably do the 23rd since we like to go to WDW first and then finish with the cruise.

The only thing that may change that choice is if DCL comes out with some really cool itineraries that don't fall on the 16th or 23rd.

I have seen Chuck many times; he actually came up to the suite for a while to show his cousin Donna the room. Funny thing is I have run into Chuck more than just about any other passenger. I will tell him you said, "Hello".
