Remembering "Live From the 8/19/06 Magic"

Yes, Pikey and three others will be switching to the Wonder in November. But I believe he said he will be returning to the Magic for the Med cruises.

At some point he will be taking time off for vacation. So hopefully he'll be on the Wonder in March and then take a break shortly thereafter and be back in May.

That's just my guess.

Well, if he ain't on the wonder when I got in March if I go I'll be lookin for a new cruise staff person like I thought I was going to before but then someone said he was going on the wonder in november, so who knows, but hope he is on there when I go, the last two times I've been wearing a The Early November(a band) shirt and he is like it's not the early november in a joking way and asked me who they were the first cruise in 2006 and last week he talked about them with me.

my wife asked him. he declined.

Ha. Slash was in our dining room and my sister (she's 16 but looks at least 18 or 19, thin, and got all the looks in the family) goes up to him and asks, "Can I ask you a question?" He rudely replies, "No." and continues walking away. He goes and sits at his table with his wife, who was inappropriately dressed the ENTIRE cruise (let's put it this way: she sat next to us during the Welcome Aboard show and we weren't too sure if her breast was going to pop out one side of her halter dress or the other  and the males in our group were quite disgusted by her appearance to say the least), at least one small child who was his son, a nanny, some other woman who we couldn't quite determine who she was, and another young child. This has my sister's attention now for the entire rest of dinner, how rude he was. She is not pleased. So as Slash is leaving the dining room, my sister, with the large set of cajones she has, shouts, "I just wanted to say thanks!" at him. Well he kinda smirks and comes over to the table and says, "Look, I'm sorry but I had my kids and they were getting out of control and I wanted to get them to the table for dinner." My sister says, "Oh ok, I just wanted to ask you a question." He was all, "Yeah..." And she says, "I just wanted to know if you were Slash from Guns n Roses." He just smiled at her but never really confirmed or denied. My whole table was hysterically laughing that it took a 16 year old girl to put some has-been rocker in his place. But he was still rude the rest of the cruise. In passing, my father said, "Hey, how're you?" and all he got was a gutteral response from Slash. Umm, hello? Without people like us, the lowly serfs that we are, he woulda never had a career right? Psh.

However, the guy from Boys II Men was supposedly really nice and my sister and her friend had a bunch of conversations with him without knowing who he was. Never saw the crown prince of Saudia Arabia, but our waiter said he got off the ship in one of the stops in Mexico because of some emergency :confused3 .

Go figure. It was an intersting cruise nonetheless and we all had a great time.

Oh and I did see Colin Mockery from Who's Line Is It Anyway? in World of Disney and the Pin Pavilion after the cruise. I just smiled at him to let him know I knew who he was, but didn't go up to him. However, some young people (ha I'm 20 and calling other people young!) were taking a picture with him later on and he seemed really nice about it.

It's weird. I've never seen celebrities in Disney before, and now this vacation was full of them. Weird...

Well, while we're sharing Slash stories. We were in the same dining rotation and I'll agree that when that party walked in, everyone stopped to stare who saw them, mostly because of the outrageous outfits (primarily of his wife!) Anyhow, the next day, my DS3 was running up the stairs at top speed not looking at where he's going and runs square into Slash (we didn't know who he was at this point.) I apologized to him and admonished DS to slow down and watch where he's going, and made him to apologize himself to the man he ran into. DS was a little taken aback at Slash's appearance, but he apologized - Slash told me it was no problem and said "that's alright Little Dude - things happen". My daughter had her mouth hanging open and wanted to ask about the tatoos and hoop earrings! Fast forward to formal night - DH and I had booked the Couples Spa Villa after we decided to skip out on formal night. Slash and his wife were waiting in the spa lobby to be escorted to their spa villa, too. He said hello and gave me a head nod, like he recognized me from DS running into him. (I guess that's how they avoided formal night, too!) I kept running into him everywhere for the next 3 days, and each time he met eyes and was as cordial as anyone else. The funniest time was when he was leaving the Pirate show with his video camera after taping his family - his wife was giving him a hard time about not shimmying it up with everyone and was ribbing him big-time. He was laughing it off, and checking out the video he made of their DS. Anyhow, my point is, I see both sides. They probably just want to have a family vacation, but then again, dressing the way they both dress, it obviously invites attention so they can't be "surprised" that people stare or want to figure out who they are.

He and his wife also went to Palo on Formal Night. Aaaaaand he got kicked out of the Adult Pool one day because he was smoking in it!

Thanks for sharing the pics.....

One of the things I remember from our cruise is how cloudy it was Sunday-Wednesday. When I look at all my CC pictures I can immediately tell if its the first or the second day by just looking at the sky.

During the trip I mentioned the cloudy weather to cruise director Andy. He said he would send the assistant cruise director up to deck 9 to do a sun-dance. It worked.

Hi Andy :wave2:

EXCELLENT pictures!! Your DD Angelina is one beautiful young lady with two wonderful parents! :grouphug:

Thanks for sharing the pictures... the saddest picture was at the end, the picture of the Magic from the window, as you were driving away, but I know you'll be back again! :teeth:

I just finished adding a few more "Lifestyle" photos to my Webshots account, my DD was a real ham this year having photos taken, LOL!!!

Here is a copy of the "group" photo we had taken during the cruise. I had to reduce the size to make it fit on the page, LOL!!!

Great pics Andy. It's hard to believe it'll be a month since we cruised already. (Aug. 5) Just looking at your pics reminds me of how much I don't remember about dinner. Trying to keep our 21moDD occupied, REALLY took away from the special occasion that dinner has always been to us. DH just suggested that next time (oh goodie...there will be a next time :goodvibes ) We should just rotate our dinners, I eat at the table one night, he the next. Hopefully by then DD will be a little more patient. She's at the "I've gotta be moving stage!! :yay: :yay:
