READ POST 1 & 2 FIRST-Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group Planning and Information-*No Spoilers*

This may have been addressed before but when I don't have a trip planned, I tend to not read the boards. Our family decided to postpone our August 2020 (after several reservation changes) until January or February 2022. However, DH and I are now going in September 2021. My husband wants very much to ride ROTR. We are going to follow whatever routine is in place come September. I have 4 day tickets. Is it a good strategy to book my first park day for DHS, then change to another park if we don't get a boarding group? I figured we may just drop our reservation for DHS on the first day and pick up say, Epcot, then try for ROTR for day number 2 and so on. I'm also figuring that the parks won't be "sold out" in September. Do you think this is a good strategy, and if not, what would be the pitfalls? Thank you all in advance.

Yes, many people have done the same - reserve DHS for more than one day, then cancel and book a different park if unsuccessful in getting a BG at 7 AM. Keep in mind, though, that you can try again at 1:00 PM if you keep that DHS pass and enter the park that day. And if you’re successful on day 1, you may find you like RotR so much you want to try again on your “extra” DHS day!

I'll do you one better I just took some screen shots.

On the home page I positioned the join button so the second one was in the same spot. See how you need to position it on your phone but it should be similar then at 7 AM or 2 PM immediately touch join and keep touching the same spot as fast as you can that way when the second page loads you hit join faster than if you were waiting for the page to load.


Here is where the join button is on the second page. Like i said on the first page don't wait for this page to load keep touching the spot from the first page.

This is the final page. After the second page move to the bottom and touch as fast as you can. Don't worry about checking your party. Anyone with a park pass will be auto checked.



If you're practicing and you get a page that asks if everyone has a park pass you would have been successful. If all groups are full you'll get a red error on the page with your party.

I just wanted to say how helpful this post was. I didn't even practice and because of the accuracy of your screen shots, I was able to score a RotR boarding group (#33) on my first attempt. Easy peazy. Thank you so much.

To others that are trying to get a boarding group, go to page 865 and lookup Isutigers screen shots. They are invaluable in getting you where you want to go.

Ok so I’m an idiot and spent more time researching and prepping for COVID than getting on this attraction. It’s 11:30am and we’re supposed to be in HS today. My husband didn’t even wake me before 7 and tried to get a BG himself at the right time. He got to F&F and got either a red full screen or a blue error he said. We didn’t practice at home or anything . He used data (AT&T, iPhone 12, yada yada..).

Now we’re sitting here at the Riviera like idiots wondering if it’s worth it to try for 1pm at the park or rearrange our schedule if possible. Is there somewhere I can get BG number info or status today? 40+ trips to WDW and you get freakin lazy over the years. Ugh, so stupid. Now we know how to line up our buttons at least .

Duh, thank you! That page was staring at me on my phone and I didn’t even notice. I just checked park availability and for the rest of my trip there is no HS available anyway. So off we go... This might make a good excuse to come back to WDW sooner than originally planned .
I haven’t read enough to know if those BG numbers portend favorable availability at 1pm, but I guess we’ll soon find out!

it might open up "day of" once everyone tries for their BGs at 7....if folks don't get one, many will drop their DHS and go elsewhere that day.

We’re boarding right now . Husband was the one who hit it, I just got errors . I assume it will be worth the Pepcid he grabbed out of my bag right after. I’ve avoided all spoilers. Thanks all for bearing with me and good luck to the rest!

Exactly! I can attest from experience that this is the way it works. Not only have DH and I gotten several BGs for the two of us this way, our family of 9 got two BGs in December doing precisely that. Just hit Join, Join, Join, and if you get a BG but someone was left out, visit with a CM in a blue shirt, and they'll add them to your BG (as long as they had the necessary park ticket and park pass, of course).

For those curious how the rider swap process works: your entire group goes to the entrance when your boarding group is called and everyone is verified, then you get sent to another CM off to the side who sets up the rider swap entitlement. The portion of your group that waits then returns to that CM when they are ready to ride and they are let in on the side.

Boarding groups are now broken on Android phones...The newest update doesnt allow any access to boarding groups...I even went on multiple phones.

Yes I get an error message...I unistalled on both android phones and reinstalled same error. Was working up until the 2/11 Android app update...I emailed the techincal support after going through the basic troubleshooting steps. We will see!

I have Android 11 with Samsung One UI 3.0 and haven't seen this issue on my Samsung 20+. I have been practicing all week. Which phone and Android version are you on? Screen shots attached.
