The moment it hits 7:00, start then. Any hesitation and you will not get a BG. Yesterday afternoon I was practicing from home and even though I did everything I have for the past 2 weeks, I still missed out. He who hesitates has lost his BG!

Update: Missed it again today. That's 2 days in a row missing the 1:00 practice BG. They're going FAST!! (I'm clicking as quickly as my screens load but they're both lagging just a bit and that's all it takes!) Hope those in the parks are having better success than I am.
I have also been successful every day (for the 1:00 window) for over a week- EXCEPT for yesterday and today! I haven’t changed anything I’m doing, but for some reason, suddenly I can’t get through! Leaving in a week. . . Hopefully I’ll get back on my winning streak! 🙁

I didn’t even know you could practice at 1:00. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Do the practicers (including myself) fill up the boarding groups even if there is no intention of going to the park that day (e.g., attempting from home outside of Florida)? I know when the earlier version of this process was live, you would get a particular message that indicated "you would have gottn a BG if you were in the park". Is there a similar way of knowing? Heading down in a month, and I have not been able to get a BG as far as I know....thanks

No you do not effect anything. I do not believe that message you described was ever given. You will get stopped at a screen that says "Not So Fast" indicating there is an error with ticketing. If you get to that screen, it means you would of been fast enough for a BG.

So I am here at WDW now. Monday at 7:00am I got BG 66. We were called somewhere around 12:30. Today at 7:00 exactly I got nothing. At 1:00 I got backup group 88. I don’t have much hope because RotR didn’t open right at 9am. I think it was closer to 10:30. Anyway, how are the backup boarding groups numbered? Starting over from 1 again, or picking up where the regular groups ended? That would make a big difference.

You can practice at 7:00am and 1:00pm.

Baring the ride going down for an extended period of time you should be just fine. At 3:05pm they're boarding up to group 61.

Thank you for this! I practiced for the first time today for my trip in 6 weeks (not that I’m counting or anything!). I got the “not so fast” message bc I obvs do not have a park reservation for today. I was wondering if that meant I would have made it. I have a teenage daughter who I will be “training” to help. Hoping for success for our one DHS day!

Yes, please read a couple of page back. This is the most asked question on here

I’d love to help you answer this question about steps because I’ve been successful five days in a row of practice. But I can’t understand what you’re saying. What does “practiced on both sides mean?”
Sorry I mean I’ve practiced from using the join a virtual queue screen and then had a practice from seeing that at ats

Technically, either way is correct, but I like the AT screen rather than refresh because if you click join as soon as your phone changes to 7:00.00, you should be good to go. The refresh method works for some, but in my opinion, you could get be mid refresh when 7 hits, then get in after everyone else

Thank you. This is an important piece of information for me! I am NOT to refresh from the AT AT screen. Is this correct?

That is correct. At the AT AT screen, the moment the time changes to 7:00 or 1:00 click Join, Join, Join as fast as you possibly can.

Thank you. Going to try in a few minutes. It is correct that "Join" button will not turn any new color, correct?

For those that were successful at obtaining 1pm boarding groups in the park, were you actually able to get on the ride or do those groups rarely ever get reached kind of thing?

I got backup group 88 yesterday at 1:00. We were called around 6pm. I was checking the app while I was in line and the last group I saw called before I got on was 98. So that’s at least 10 groups from the 1:00p drop and probably more than that.
