9:35am - ride is down. We got through the first portion, then was escorted to the backstage area. FP+ to return to the rise for later. Felt bad for the CMs! Hope people don’t give them too much grief

Backup groups still available at 9:42am.
I wonder if Disney ends backup groups earlier than they otherwise anticipated if the ride has an early morning shutdown.

Friendly reminder to please keep the conversation in this thread focused on RotR BG, any discussion on fo availability for SWGE or DHS can be done in the many threads that are open

I practiced at home today and it seemed to take a while to select my group. We have 12 people total traveling, but will be a group of 8 on our HS day. Any advice on getting through that quicker? I did "select all" and then unselected those 4 not with us. And is the best bet to toggle between "Find out More" and hitting the back arrow? I didn't get a red "Join Boarding Group" button until a little past 7:00am.

I have been following this thread for a while and am so appreciative of all the advice you all have provided!
Unless it takes you 5 min to do that, you are fine. Boarding groups last long enough to click the participants and join.

If it were up to me, I’d tap in at 8:59. :rotfl2: But I’ll be on a short trip with daughter and niece who will want try and rope drop SDD and ToT, which we don’t have FP for. So for at least one morning, I will go with them just for the entertainment value of watching them freak out on (hopefully) getting it all done before a great day at the Festival of the Arts. Crossing fingers for an earlier open...we wouldn’t mind an early start with fewer competitors!
Oh, I got that part.
But you'd mentioned that you want to ride stand by AND had concern about the late opening, even if you didn't plan a stand by ride. My only comment was that a later opening isn't going to alter what time someone needs to arrive just for a boarding group. It doesn't matter if they open the groups at 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 or 9:00. You won't have to give yourself more time to get in for a 9:00 opening than you would for a 6:00 opening. They'll have the turnstiles open in time to move all the guests inside the park by the time the groups open. So no matter what the opening time, those only going for RotR need not get there more than a few minutes early. Best things about that is 1, more sleep 2, practically no lines to enter the park and 3, less waiting standing around.

On the bus and following along for another boarding group lottery commute!
I was practicing from work... and within 20 sec I got the red "Join a boarding group". I feel as ready as I can be for next week. 8-)

As much as I would love the practice, my drive to work 6 days a week runs from 6:30 till 7:20. It also includes dropping off my kids, so I can't go extra early for free time.

Especially if late Feb hours aren't adjusted leaving in-park early demand higher than current.

Thanks to everybody for a complete data-set again this morning. I'll continue to compile info until next Friday. If somebody has interest in continuing "The Chart" beyond then, you can let me know in a PM.

Random Stat: Over the past 10 days, Regular BGs have remained available for an average of 14 minutes since the 1/2 thru 1/5 craziness.

Arrive at 530, got boarding group 73. Issues with app page not refreshing. Had to close app and reopen.
I got a Lyft from the Contemporary at 5:50
6:05 - at HS
6:26 - tapped in and found a quite area to sit
6:58 - opened the app
7:00 - hit Find out more button
Used T-mobile - boarding group 8
Proof that it doesn't matter what time you arrive at the park and it's all about luck of the draw/ connection issues

My apologies if this is too off-topic (I have been on the Boards for 5 years and still can never figure out how to properly navigate for official threads/forums). Anyway, how busy are the GET/GR teams at DHS between the entrance time and BG/park-open time? We only have the one day at DHS and only until about 5pm-ish. After we arrive, go thru bag check, and tap in, would there be sufficient time and GET/GR members available to secure a DAS return time for DS7? There's no way that he could handle waiting so long in the morning to be near the front for a RD ride. I don't have experience asking in the past, but I am assuming that we cannot get that done the evening before in MK for the next day, so that leaves us requesting in the relatively short window between entering DHS and getting ready for BG process. Are they swamped that early? I do presume that they would definitely be very busy immediately AFTER opening with BG related questions. Thoughts?

Thanks!!
