Hi all.
Is there anything out there speculating about whether Ratatouille will have boarding groups like Rise of the Resistance?
I feel like this is the direction now when new rides open but just curious if anyone knows and has a good read on how this might work.
I'm thinking about park reservations and may reserve multiple days at EPCOT to try for this, if boarding groups are the plan.
thanks!

Not anything recently, as far as i know. There had been some chatter about whether or not it would actually be needed and the logic was that they didn’t do it for MMRR and I don’t think there’s as much hype for Ratatouille so I’d lean towards thinking they won’t have a boarding group system for it.

I haven’t heard anything, but I did make an Epcot park reservation (just in case) when we go in October even though I’d much rather just hop there in the evening.

A big reason why rotr has is is because it's not reliable. Rat doesn't have that issue as it's the same ride that's in DLP. There's really no reason for them to do anything just like they didn't do anything for mmrr. I also wouldn't be surprised if it opens with the single rider line being open.

It doesn't have the complexity of rotr, so I don't expect boarding groups. Guess we'll find out!

It's the same ride technology that's been at Tokyo Disneyland since 2000 at Pooh's Honey Hunt.
So I don't think there is any unpredictability in terms of ride breakdowns, etc.

I can see them using boarding groups since it seems like the same type of ride system. Especially since it will be a new ride and there is going to be serious demand for it when it first opens.

This is strictly opinion, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them do virtual queues and boarding groups for several (or all) the new rides moving forward--Remy, Tron in Magic Kingdom, Guardians of the Galaxy in Epcot.

This could possibly be wrapped into Genie when it finally debuts. I just think we're in for some changes to help manage crowds and demand.

I doubt it will, its always possible but not likely. Most new rides they do NOT do boarding groups. Star wars was a little different because #1 the huge draw it brought in just for that land and rides but also how complex the ride is. Toy story land was small potatoes compared to Star Wars Land and a single Ratatouille ride I don't think compares.

I really doubt people are going to be going as bananas for the Ratatouille ride. I am sure it'll be a cool ride but I doubt it'll be flocks of people coming to that park specifically for that ride. I do hope the fast pass system is back by the time I go tho. I know my kiddos would love to ride it!

Boarding groups like ROTR? Probably not. I could easily see them doing a virtual queue though so you're not standing in line. Haven't been in that area for several years so I'm not familiar with where this was built, but I doubt there's room for a very long line there. Frozen Ever After is still a long wait, 50 minutes as of right now. This ride is going to have huge lines for quite a while because it's new.

It may be hard to gauge based on Frozen. That was a much more popular movie and characters than Ratatouie. I'm sure it'll have a big line as does any new ride but I'm not sure I'd even expect it to be the same caliber as frozen the first year.

Frozen was more popular? Personally I cannot even think of a single song from the soundtrack. :rolleyes1
