Would Scooter Bug be the best choice for 1 day rental?

Planning a trip for march where a family member would be joining us for one day at the parks, and looking to get them a motorized scooter for that day. From googling it appears scooter bug may be the only service where we wouldn't have to actually meet the company to pick up/drop off the scooter when we are done using it.

We arrive kind of late on the night before our first park day, and didnt want to waste time in the morning waiting for the scooter to be dropped off. My plan was to reserve a scooter for the day we arrive, so we have it when we get to the hotel (Riverside) and then drop it back off the following day after we come back from the parks.

With that in mind is scooter bug our best choice as, from my understanding, the scooter will be dropped off with bell hop and we can then just leave it there with them when we are done?

It has been the case that Scooter Bug is the only vendor Bell Services will handle at the Disney resorts. In your case, it would make your life so much easier having Bell available when it's dropped off and when it's eventually picked up. Way less hassle for you, especially for a 1-day rental.

If that person isn’t staying in your room I would pick it up that morning from bell services do you don’t have to deal with the hassle of parking it in the room.

Scooterbug is great for the convenience, but I won't rent form them again because I cannot get a full day from the scooter. We go rope drop to close most days, and the battery did not last anywhere close to the full day. I was stuck having to sit and charge by midafternoon and one time almost ended up stranded by myself on the way back to the Swan from Epcot. Both times I have rented from them this was the case. I have also used Scootaround twice in the past year and both times had almost half a charge at the end of the day.

Did you ever need to reach out to scootaround for customer service?

I hate to have to report, but we just rented from Scooter Bug (Resort ECV) from Feb 3 - 7 and had a horrible experience.
Our scooter's battery charger was defective and didn't charge the scooter. We had charged it 12 hours and were heading to Animal Kingdom on the bus when it died. We didn't want to lose our precious park time so we had to rent an official Disney theme park scooter once we arrived at AK. We called Scooter Bug and they arranged to have a replacement delivered to the resort. They do not bring a replacement to the theme parks so I guess you're screwed if the scooter has tech issues while at the theme park.
I asked for compensation of either the day we lost of the rental or the cost of renting the scooter at AK and they refused.
They were nice while making the reservation, but do not care about customer service when encountering issues.

Yeah, the person using it wont be using it for complete day. Moreso just to have it with us case they get tired later in the day we can use it. Other than that most of the day we just plan on leaving it parked while in the parks.

Came back to report the while we were in the Parks last week with a Scootaround rental I actually had an issue with my scooter and had to have a replacement delivered. I rent the heavy duty scooter and the one they stock is the maxima. I have rented it many times for various companies and have always been able to go from park open to park close without charging. Day 1 of having the scooter I was delivered at noon and I used it with no issues. We fully charged overnight and day 2 it said 3/4 charged at about 2:00 when it suddenly went into the red and died. I thought perhaps the was a charging issue. Plugged in for a few hours to get by and carried on. Day 3 was the same thing. I called for a replacement. The call center is not in the united states and there was a language barrier. Ended up asking for a supervisor who sounded like she was stateside. Apparently the drivers do not carry an extra heavy duty scooter on their trucks. They wanted me to meet the driver at 12:45 at my resort for a replacement. I told them that was a no go as we had plans the next day, and finally got them to agree to meet at the gate of DHS to swap. Got the swap and had not further issues.

My only real complaint on how they handled the situation was the call center. Number on was the language barrier and trying to make myself understood. It took a while for the call taker to stop reading from a script and get what was actually going on. She was trying to tell me to charge the scooter, ect. I also spent way too much time on hold with the call center trying to communicate with dispatch to coordinate the drop off of the new scooter. They need a better system of communication between drivers, dispatch, and call takers.

Yeah, what im gathering from looking all of this is that it appears none of the rental companies are perfect, and all of them have the chance of getting a lemon for a scooter. Which, is not unreasonable to happen considering how much mileage and abuse the scooters get put on them.
