Ratatouille = Boarding Groups?

Trackless isn’t that new. Universe of Energy at EPCOT was trackless when it opened in 1982. Maybe a different technology but still trackless
Also depends on what you say is old😂💕

Yes, so was The Great Movie Ride. These were older iterations of it though compared to Pooh's Huny Hunt and the other overseas rides. The same basic technology though was used for Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters at DCA, where the cars dance with each other. This was built a few years ago and is the first use of that specific technology in the US parks.

Technically a free standing boat is a trackless ride.

But Pooh's Honey Hunt was the next level ride in 2000, yet didn't make it over to the US Disney's until ROTR and Rat.

Well, technically Luigi's, but I get your point. Runaway Railway uses it too. It is a shame that it wasn't brought over sooner though. Pooh's Hunny Hunt is great!

Just announced today, it will use the virtual queue.
This also most likely will be one of the EPCOT rides that you can pay extra for a LL pass (haven't seen this confirmed).
Makes me concerned that they may have fewer people in the virtual queue in the mornings to push people to purchase a LL for it.

I guess I need to make a Park Pass reservation for Epcot if I want to ride Ratatouille then. I generally don't get a Park Pass and park hopped to Epcot in the afternoon.

Well fortunately for me, I have a preview ride in September. Because my experience with VQ is less then horrible.

Not anything recently, as far as i know. There had been some chatter about whether or not it would actually be needed and the logic was that they didn’t do it for MMRR and I don’t think there’s as much hype for Ratatouille so I’d lean towards thinking they won’t have a boarding group system for it.
Well I was wrong on this one.

What sucks the most is this is our arrival day park. Can no longer have those it appears unless you want to pay to ride.

I bet the next ride to get BP is Tron.

Mickey and Minnie did not have one kinda the same level

Definitely, and then the Guardians coaster, and perhaps at that time Remy's will come off of the virtual boarding groups - unless the goal is to have the 2 Lightning Lane rides at each park also have a virtual queue.

That would leave AK at the only park w/o a virtual boarding group ride - although I'd argue you could add FoP to it.

Ya, FOP could go in that direction. No rope dropping the virtual queue rides. You win a lottery or you pay for it. I imagine the lottery wins will get even harder to obtain. Sad as ever.

We have a family trip coming up in the fall, and since this will be a BG ride, I’m now questioning whether we should skip Epcot and just do 2 days at Hollywood Studios or even one less park day. Is anyone else in this boat? Remy’s was really the only draw and BGs are luck of the draw/too stressful. Not interested in buying LL :(

Attractions for Early Theme Park Entry for onsite guests has been announced, and here is the list for Epcot:

EPCOT
  • Beauty and The Beast Sing-Along
  • Frozen Ever After
  • Mission: SPACE
  • Soarin’ Around the World
  • Spaceship Earth
  • Test Track
  • The Seas with Nemo & Friends
For Evening Extra Hours for Deluxe and DVC guests, the list also does not include Remy's:
EPCOT
  • Beauty and The Beast Sing-Along
  • Frozen Ever After
  • Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros
  • Mission: SPACE
  • Soarin’ Around the World
  • Spaceship Earth
  • Test Track
  • The Seas with Nemo & Friends

No Remy's Ratatouille's Adventure anywhere in sight. :(

Why would they give it away for free?

Technically if you score a virtual queue boarding group they're also giving it away for free. Other "Tier 1" rides are available such as Seven Dwarfs Mine Train - I know that ride has been around a lot longer so its different.

RoTR in late 2019 / early 2020 was noted as being unavailable during EMH because the ride was constantly being worked on for maintenance when it first launched.

One would hope most of the kinks will be worked out quickly on Remy's since that ride has been around at DLP for a few years now.

But I thought maybe they might throw a bone to Deluxe / DVC guests and allow them to ride Remy's at night during the Extended Evening hours. Maybe eventually they will add it - like when the Guardians coaster launches :)
