Booking the same restaurant twice in one day

Hi all. I'm sure this is "frowned upon" but I'm curious if it's possible to book the same restaurant for two different time slots if we are unsure when we want to eat?

I was able to book a 2:20pm BBB for our daughter and our plan was to go to CRT after the appointment, so I booked a 5:15pm dinner. However, I'm attempting to get the BBB appointment moved up (between 8AM-12PM) using a third-party booking service. If that happens, I think we'd prefer to eat earlier, maybe one of the later breakfast times or early lunch.

Because of this, I want to book a "just in case" CRT booking for (let's say) Noon. And I'd just cancel the one I don't want when we get closer to the date. I know Disney wouldn't want people operating like this, so I would be concerned they may call me and ask to choose which one to keep? But who knows, maybe some people like eating at the same place twice in one day if the menu is vastly different (like say Breakfast and then Dinner).

I say go for it. You will make someone's day when they are able to book CRT after you cancel one of them.

I don’t think there’s any restrictions on doing that, nor would anyone call you. But remember, CRT is paid when you book. As long as you don’t mind doing that, I think you’ll be OK.

My daughter and I actually ate at CRT twice in one day many years ago (princesses were there at lunch and Fairy Godmother and the mice were there at dinner). So I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem.

Just be aware you will have to prepay in full for both.

Typically, the same person can make one reservation per 'meal period' per day. So if you're making a dinner reservation and a breakfast/lunch reservation, you should be fine making it yourself. If it were for the same meal (like a 5:00 dinner and a 6:00 dinner, for example), someone else in your group would have to make it. But as mom2rtk says correctly, CRT is a prepay, so you'll have to ask for a refund when you eventually cancel one of them. I'm not familiar myself, but you'll want to make sure of the cancellation time requirement - not sure if it's the same 2-hr cancellation like regular ADRs, or something more like 24 hours since it's a prepaid event.
