Good morning. Cloudy and less humid this morning. First time opening the windows in 2 weeks. Calling for storms this afternoon, and I hope they don't miss us.
Picked a few more tomato's last night. Had a BLT for dinner with some fresh corn. Finally a true summer meal with garden tomato.

Going to strip the bed and do some laundry. That's my exciting plan for this morning, lol

Have a great Monday

Slipping thread Good Evening friends. Yesterday I shared a link to, "Come and find the Quiet Center." As I was enjoying a quiet time of mutual prayer with Pastor Louise this afternoon (We first talk/pray and then have a good 45 minutes of peaceful prayer and healing on our own, and finally she calls me back), God placed this hymn once again into my heart. I Googled the lyrics and want to share 4 lines with all of dear you with all my love.

Clear the chaos and the clutter,
Clear our eyes, that we can see
All the things that really matter,
Be at peace, and simply be.

Be still, Quacker family, and always remember He is God. He loves you and is forever beside you. I care, too. Sweet Dreams everyone and have a good night🌠💕

Good evening, Quackers!

Crazy weekend at work! Recuperating today, but was busy w the dogs. Toto had a grooming appt and I got stuck in a traffic jam due to an accident so was a little late. Then took Grady out for a walk. Some nutty man postured toward him like he was going to come after me and G barked at him. Then he did it again, so I told him to stop, that he didn’t like that. People can be so foolish. I mean, who would go up to a strange German Shepherd standing with his person and act like you’re going to do harm? Family was p’d because we work really hard with him to help him understand that there’s nothing to be afraid of. Hopefully it didn’t set him back. At least I know what he’ll do in an emergency. 😉 (I never doubted it, have seen it before in my dogs, but only necessitated very rarely, thankfully.)

Stopped at a little farm stand in the city the other day, been meaning to stop there for a while. Lady was so friendly. Wound up spending under $8 (!) and got a dozen and a half of super fresh eggs, three large green peppers, a huge English cucumber, and two lemons! (Last week I paid $10 for two dozen eggs in our supermarket.) DH wound up making one of my favorite things my mom used to make when she had peppers to use up, and it came out so good - fried peppers and eggs! Had a delicious sandwich on a nice, fresh Piantodosi roll with a smidge of ketchup and it was like heaven! :cloud9: Was planning to make my hairdresser a sandwich with it for tomorrow (I always bring her a homemade lunch and some sort of sweet, because she came to the house a couple of times to do Mom’s hair during her hospice days and I’ll never forget her for it. She also showed up at the funeral from quite a distance away. We were both upset because someone at the funeral had cut her hair after she’d just done it 😬 and it didn’t look good 😬 ) but they’re almost gone now. Will have to make some more tomorrow, so good!

Mona I’m glad your efforts are paying off for you in stamina, even if it’s baby steps. I know it’s not easy, but keep it up! You have a trip to make! :goodvibes

Snowysmom I’m glad you got outfits you’re comfortable in, it sounds like you’re going to have a nice, relaxing cruise! Your walks by the lake sound nice, too.

Lynn, glad you got to enjoy something from your garden. We got a bowl full of string beans, some tomatoes and a weird, lumpy looking summer squash so far. I have to check again tomorrow. Disappointed that I’m having some difficulty with some of my annuals, they’re looking a little ratty. Not sure if they’ve been overwatered or under watered. :confused3I hope they bloom again. DH thinks that it’s just been hot and dry. Anyone else experiencing this?

Have a nice sleep tonight and a good Tuesday, all! 🐣

Huge hug dear Pea and thank God you are okay! How scary. Extra peace to you and Grady, too, my friend. Thank you for your kind words. Dad and I God willing definitely have a special trip to take next May::MickeyMo::MinnieMoWell before then we have closer outings to go on, too. As I told Pastor Louise, what a true gift all mobility is. The more I get up period, balance, and plain move the stronger my muscles become as they relearn normal movement. As I pray to live one step at a tome, always, to, with, because of and for Christ. By His Grace I will get there indeed. Thank you and everyone else so deeply for all your constant prayers, care, and encouragement. How blessed I am.

Pea The peppers and eggs looks so good. I may have to try that! Grady is such a good dog and he is protective of you. I can't believe someone is so stupid as to do what that guy did. You are very kind to bring your hairdresser lunch.

Flyingdumbo127 Glad you had a nice talk and prayer with Pastor Louise. Good thoughts for you to get stronger and better able to move easily. You do have a trip to look forward to next year.

Lynn My DS's GF has a garden and she is getting alot of zucchini, cucumbers, small tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, and summer squash. The big tomatoes are rotting on the bottom before she can pick them. The small tomatoes are really good as well as the cucumbers.

Good morning. It is a rainy dreary morning. It is supposed to rain off and on all day but temps will stay in the 70s. Tomorrow is the same forecast with a bit more rain. Last night after qi gong with my good friend we ended up talking for over an hour. We talked on Zoom until we got cut off and then she called and we continued. It was nice for both of us to be able to talk honestly about what is going on in our lives, the good, the bad, the ugly. We haven't had lunch in a while and it looks like it will be a bit longer so it was nice to chat on the phone. I made egg noodles, chicken, and broccoli for supper last night and it was really good. I have more for the next couple of nights so easy dinners. Kenny has the divorce arbitration today so please, prayers that is goes well and is fair for all and the kids are the top priority to all. I know they are for Kenny.

Off to work. Have a good day.

The big tomatoes are rotting on the bottom before she can pick them.
I noticed that yesterday with one of mine as well. - It wasn't even full size yet. I wonder if something weird is going on this year?

Fingers crossed the arbitration goes well!

@Pea-n-Me, the peppers and eggs look delicious!

@flyingdumbo127, glad to hear the foot issues are easing some!

Happy Tuesday!:flower:

My only day in the office this week so I am super excited!!!

We got some rain during the night Sunday and of course I didn't bring my clothes in from drying outside >:(. I worked Saturday night so I only got a few hours of sleep on Sunday. I went to my nephew's house to see his new baby. After that I ran to Sam's to grab a few things. When I got home I ate a little dinner and then fell asleep on the couch 😴. I was so tired that when I woke up from the couch nap, I went to bed and figured I'd grab the laundry outside in the morning. Well that didn't go as planned, didn't know it was supposed to rain.🌧️

I sometimes throw peppers in with my scrambled eggs 🫑. I kinda make and omelet out of scrambled eggs. I finally got some red tomotoes from my garden!!! They're little but they're red and ready to go 🍅. I just cut one up this morning to add to my eggs, you could really taste the difference vs a store bought tomato.

Headed to the library tonight for the craft night. The craft is river rock painting, I guess we're painting rocks.🤷‍♀️

Have a great day!

Good morning. After a few bouts of rain yesterday, which we badly needed, we're back to the low 90's again

@Snowysmom Prayers said for Kenny's arbitration. I hope things go better than they have in the past. This is getting dragged out way too long, and it's not good for any of them, especially the kids.

I don't like peppers in any way, shape or form.

@Pea-n-Me All of my annuals are doing that. It's the extreme heat and lack of rain. I've been watering twice a day and I have some that are doing well, and others that have died. I have bushes in full bloom that shouldn't be in bloom for another full month at least. I noticed yesterday that 2 of my Rose of Sharon bushes in the side yard look like they've died completely. I have Crepe Myrtles that have gone crazy and are 5x taller this year than ever before.

My Echinacea have already bloomed and died, and the spearmint has gone to flower, after not spreading anywhere near as much as usual. My Autumn Joy Sedums didn't grow as well as they have for the last 20 years, and something ate all the tops off. I even have some branches on my rose bushes looking like something's been chewing on them.
@PollyannaMom It's mostly the smaller tomato's here that are rotted, I've picked quite a few big ones that are totally intact. I've noticed that the tomato's definitely aren't getting as big as they did last year, despite having Miracle Gro on them. My squash produced very little and as soon as we get a really good rain, if the plants don't do any better, I'm yanking them out.

It's definitely a weird weather year for everything growing outside.

Off to get moving--Have a good day

Happy Tuesday joy and a hug to all with forever my heartfelt thanks for each of you and your faith and encouragement. Dad and I God willing are so looking forward to our trip next year. Dad said, "Disneyland here we come," earlier when I showed him how by God's Grace I'm able to get up from the bed. I take heart in all. Dear Quacker family, I may say this often because for me it is true always. Each moment is a gift from God that we get to have to serve and kindly witness, to tell it on the mountain. To also be able to do that with those we care about and love...is also something I know each of you also cherish. I believe in all of you with love.

Extra big hug Snowysmom and indeed prayers that your precious grandkids' best interests are put first today and always.

PollyannaMom, hug and prayers your feline friends slept in later today and that you have a great one.

Footballmouse, hug and please take care of yourself. Get some rest!

Lynn, hug, you also please get some extra rest. As always I love your ::MickeyMo::MinnieMomorning photo. Thank you for continuing to brighten our mornings that way.

Dad will be doing :laundy:this morning and heading to Ralphs later🛒I will be so humbly thankful one day to be able to help him with both. I am going to reach out to Vivian later and ask whether we can schedule our next session in two weeks. All is nice and quiet around here right now. Have a lovely day everyone. I will check back later :)

Thanks for answering about the flowers, Lynn. If yours are dead, I’m screwed! We’ve been watering daily but I wasn’t sure if we overwatered. DH is better with plants than I am and he thought it was the heat. Such a shame, they looked so nice! I deadheaded a lot of them the other day and some flowers are starting to come back, but there’s still a lot of brown on them. 🫤

Pea The peppers and eggs looks so good. I may have to try that!

@Pea-n-Me, the peppers and eggs look delicious!
They are super easy to make. Just slice up the peppers and fry them in a little vegetable oil until they soften. Meanwhile, scramble some eggs, but with no water or milk. Add to the peppers and scramble. Salt and pepper to taste. I like them on a nice soft bulky roll (with a little ketchup)! Keep a fork handy cause some falls out, lol, unless you get a closed roll.

I was still exhausted today from the weekend so I wound up making my hairdresser a nice maple turkey sandwich with mayo. She appreciated it. And a cupcake. I will make her the peppers and eggs for next time. I also brought a turkey sandwich to DS at his work, since I was nearby. He looked so handsome today, and all grown up, it made me a little teary. Silly me. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think I just miss seeing him every day.

Good sleep to all, and have a good Wednesday! 🐥

Pea Not crazy to get teary when we see our kids all grown up and doing well. You are proud of both your kids and what they have accomplished.

Good morning. Another dreary morning. The sun did come out a few times yesterday and hopefully will today. Kenny's arbitration got rescheduled to next week. So frustrating for him. I walked at the lake yesterday and went to pick up some things at Hannafords. I needed some salad as I like really fresh salad. The rest of day was quiet. I will be going into the office tomorrow and I hope it isn't raining first thing in the morning.

Have a good day.

@Pea-n-Me, your squash and beans look so healthy! Our zucchini plant has been pulled. I forget why we only had one plant. I made blueberry zucchini bread twice, it’s my favorite thing to do with zucchini l although, I do like it fried with onions, tomatoes, peppers, and mushrooms if we have some.

We will do some weeding early in the morning. We leave on Tuesday for Pacific Northwest, two national parks and an Alaska cruise. We have offered our house to cousins, and they’ve taken us up…6 people will be here, including a two year old and a teenager. This house will be full, it seems just the right size for us! We will be putting all of Gus’s stuff away…my cousins come for a few days before the young family gets here, I think they baby proof the house, Everyone was here last year so, I guess they really enjoyed themselves. The young family lives in Washington State, where we’re going, so we’ll miss seeing them in person, again!

Gus is hanging in here. He is especially fond of my sister, Nancy. He rallies to go on walks with her. He struggles to go upstairs with Tom, but it’s obvious it is what he wants. They grow so old, so quickly.

Enjoy your day everyone!

Good morning

Benn a busy couple of days. I did get to Lancaster last week and had a really nice time with Crystal and her friend. The friend loved the way Crystal and I talk about everything, including politics. I didn't get anything at the Disney Store as I was not happy with what they had. I did get Mikey his underwear and he was "weirded" out by that.

Ella worked so many days last week that just taking her to work cost me the price of a tank of gas. When I picked her up the last day I needed gas so we headed to New Jersey. It's at least 30 cents cheaper a gallon and I was on E so worth the pop over the bridge. Plus where she works makes it easy to do that. We had a Bridge opening on the way over. On the way home we had a second bridge opening. I have never had that happen before. Ella looked both times and we only saw some small boats on the river so no idea what caused the opening.

I have had an easy week as I only need to get my little guys to camp. It was supposed to be 3 days but I only had to take them monday as they have stayed home with Anthony. He was having some joint pain and the drs. think it's viral but he broke out in a rash yesterday so they tested him for Lyme's disease. He is showing a few classic symptoms. I am praying it's not that as the poor kid needs a break.

All of you with your gardens are making me jealous. Jay never got the work in the back yard done so I have had to forgo a garden again this year. My SIL redid my daughters front and it looks so nice. She only planted flowers but hopes to vegies again next year.

@Pea-n-Me The pepper and eggs look good. I remember my mom making them sometimes for dinner when we were kids but peppers do not agree with me.

@bobbiwoz I love making zucchini bread too. I have a bag of frozen shredded zucchini. Maybe I should use it before I go and buy some more this year. I like chocolate chips and walnuts in it but my kids drive me crazy. One likes it like that, one likes it with no chocolate chips and one likes it plain. So much fun catering to them but they do like getting it. Have fun on your trip. We leave for our cruise in about 24 days. I better get started on getting what I need together.

Hope you all have a great day. We are very overcast here and expecting rain.

Good morning hug everyone,

Snowysmom, how frustrating! I'm truly sorry to hear that and keep your grandkids, and always you my friend, in extra prayer.

Bobbi:grouphug:and Gus prayers. May you and Tom have such a wonderful adventure. I look forward to hearing about your travels.

Taz, Anthony health prayers. Peace extra to dear you!

Wednesday joy to all.

Thanks @flyingdumbo127, and @tazdev3225, as I have used a National Park passport book since 1991 when I drove with my youngest down to Space Camp to pick up his brother who was attending the camp. So, the Cumberland Gap was my first passport stamp, and by the end of this trop, Olympic NP will be my most recent. My book has been well used. I have had to add additional pages to some sections.

Does anyone else use the National Park Passport?

Good Wednesday Morning!

Supposed to rain later this afternoon. I decided not to water the flowers this morning, so I'm counting on the rain actually happening. I really hope my grass guy gets here this morning. My grass needs to be cut and he wasn't here last week.

Went to my library craft night last night. We painted river rocks to make a tic-tac-toe game. I painted Mickey heads on some rocks and Minnie heads on the others. There were really cute ideas for them but I'm not very artistic so I didn't have confidence that I could draw some of the ideas. My sister on the other hand, could have done some really cute ones if she does it. She finally decided to do a craft show this fall so I'm making business cards for her.

Last day of work (job #1) before vacation starts. I still need to work this weekend (job #2). Not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow but Firday I'll be busy. Need to get the dogs to the kennel early, then I'm getting a pedicure, and then finishing up my Swiffer study. I'll most likely clean and do laundry Thursday since I won't be home this weekend to get anything done. I need to stop at a restaurant Friday to get Bailey a gift card for her birthday. Evan suggested a sushi place but they don't offer gift cards online.

Boys are coming over next week to feed the cats, hopefully they'll water my flowers for me.

That's about it, have a great day!

Bobbi, your passport book sounds very special indeed! May your upcoming trip add to happy National Park memories for you and Tom.

Footballmouse, I think your rocks sound fun and lovely::MickeyMoI just watched a movie where the characters wrote kind messages on rocks and left them for someone to find. I wish you a safe and happy vacation.
