Have you ever read anything by Mary Jo Putney? She writes historical romances and is a friend of mine.
Some changes in the CPR portion that are quite different,
While I was still licensed as a physical therapist, I had to recertify in CPR every 2 years. It was different every time.
Homemade chocolate chip muffins sound amazing, Carol
Full disclosure, they were from a package of Betty Crocker mix where you just add milk.

I post from both an iPad and a laptop. The quotes are only on the device where I make them. So, if I quote on the iPad and post on the laptop, I don’t see the quotes. That’s why some show up late.

Good morning! The Rose of Sharon has finally bloomed:

(It was kind of late this year, so I was a little worried.) The hummingbirds will be very happy!

Other than that, nothing much to write about yet today.

@Breezy_Carol, I do have trouble with quotes on my phone as well, but not on the computer. I can quote a whole post, but after the last couple of "upgrades" I can't highlight to quote only one part (or to change font color, or to bold type, etc.)

Happy Thursday morning! :sunny:

Going to be nice out today with low humidity. Working out in the yard today after work.

I'm taking my cat, Twix, to get a haircut/shave for the first time tonight. I hope she does okay. She's not cleaning herself very good as she's getting older and she just keeps getting mats in her fur. Hopefully this will help. I'm sure when I pick her up she's going to be mad at me. :cat:

Got the grass cut last night and then put the sprinkler out in the yard. Everything just needed a good drink of water. 💦

I took advantage of Prime Days and ordered a few things from Amazon yesterday. A couple of things that were already in my cart was on sale so I went ahead and got those and then I bought a new bird feeder. 🐦

I think that's it for me this morning. Have a great day! 🌷

Morning everyone.

Just waiting for 8am, so I can go out and mow the backyard. It's already 75 and 80% humidity, and I should have mowed yesterday when it was 5 degrees cooler and much less humid. Ah well. I'm waiting until 8, because I'm a nice neighbor. Then I have a couple loads of laundry to do.

The handyman that broke the refrigerator was the one who FINALLY showed up to look at the dishwasher. He pushed on the inside tub, said 'yeah it's loose'; then took dishes from the sink (we had just had lunch) and put a few in the dishwasher and ran it. Kept turning the knob to different cycles, not giving it a chance to run fully and show the leaking door seal. So I just let him do his thing, because he really sucks at fixing things, if we go by the experience we had with the fridge; and when I run the dishwasher today, and it leaks and ruins the floor under the dishwasher, I'll just let the landlord know. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️:confused3 It's not my house; I've reported the problem; and if they don't want to hire someone who can actually dx and fix the issue, that's on the management company,. not me.

I have to cook a bunch of Italian sausage today (I was going to make pasta yesterday, originally, and we ended up doing the make your own pizza thing instead). I'm debating if we are having pasta and salad tonight (which means I need to make bread). I'll probably just cook the meat and put it in the fridge for tomorrow, and pull out something else for dinner; maybe we'll do PF Changs frozen dinners instead. I'll feel more like making bread tomorrow, when I don't have to mow. :rotfl2:

For Prime, I bought 2 posters of Spiderman/Into the Spiderverse w/hanging sticky pads for DS, and a set of baking donut pans. We almost bought an Echo Show, but in the end, decided we really didn't need it. I wanted to upgrade the Dots in the bedroom/DH's office, but Dh said to just wait; they'll do another sale like that in November/December, and we can do it then.

We finished watching Ms Marvel on D+ last night; it was a pretty good series. There is an end credits scene, in case you watch, and you shouldn't miss it. I'm rewatching Agents of SHIELD, as it's been a few years since I last saw it.

Yall have a good day.

Home from errands and opened the DIS with no issues. I never sign out on my desktop, so I don't know if it would still work right if I logged out and back in. It's HOT and 92 outside. They said 'limited sun today',,I think they got that wrong..it's full sun.
Stores were busy, but not terrible. Only had a lady with a few things in front of me at one of the U Scans. Noone was in line at the service desk (had to return one of the oil filter wrenches I had got to change the mower oil..as it wouldn't go small enough). Shelf with dry pasta seems to be empty again, at least of Great Value brand. Plenty of Barilla..which was almost 60 cents a box more for thin spaghetti than Walmart brand is. But oh well. I used the last of the box I had making spaghetti and meatballs the other night, so stocked up on 2 more. Leftover spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and a side salad for dinner tonite.

@footballmouse Congrats to your son and 'soon to be DIL". Lovely pictures
@Pea-n-Me --great pictures, so pretty!--That pic of the big dog and little one made me laugh!--too cute

Here we go with my stepdaughter again..well not her directly, but one of the granddaughters. (16 years old). She had an earache on Sunday. They took her to the ER. They gave her an antibiotic and some kind of sterioud. . Said on Tuesday it was worse, so she took her to her pediatrician. They said wait till today and if no better, then they want to do a CT scan, as they are worried it might be a bone infection (never heard of that ) ..She also says both granddaughers have 'tonsil stones',,which I have never heard of. But they won't take out their tonsils? So they have to put up with hit,,sounds weird to me.
Waiting to hear if her earache is any better,,she is getting her braces off this afternoon, so I hope it is better!

Have a nice afternoon...stay cool!
I opened up disboards this morning (just now) to a mess of ad's all over it. Moving ones big ones multiples of the same one on the page. Then I noticed I'd been logged out. I never log out. So I logged in figuring that might help. It didn't. I'm kind of fed up so may just take smaller doses of this website.

I post in several places on the boards. Budget Board, DVC boards and here. Content is important to attract advertisers as well as readers. I relax here, but feel I supply some content on the other two spots, so feel I'm doing my part. So, why the big push to make it annoying to access and read on the site? Please, know that I am venting!

Sorry about the grands and the ear problems. Been there done that and it was very painful, for those that have never had an ear problem. It's an ongoing thing for me as I have some small condition with a long medical name that I can't remember right now, that does not impact most of the time.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning all. Beautiful 65 outside with no humidity. Going to be 86 or so, but way less humid than it has been . Just watered everything for the day. According to weatherman, no chance of rain till Sunday, so everything will be bone dry by then. Typical Mid July weather here.
I finally was able to get on here this morning..once again it was down from 6am till just a few min ago.
Nothing new going on around here, will do some laundry and swiffer the floors in a bit.
Attaching the pic of my niece (with permission) of her with the braces off. I just love her freckles, lol

Have a great morning everyone

Good afternoon.

We got up this morning and went to DD's house. She was at work and DH and DSIL worked for 2 hours clearing brush and branches from where their fence is going to be installed. I watched the kids. They didn't get completely finished but cleared a lot. Two neighbors asked SIL if DH was a contractor. One neighbor even offered to pay DH to remove a tree in her yard. :rotfl2: Meanwhile, I baked chocolate chip muffins with Tessa and had an extended make believe role play of school and home with both kids.

Home for lunch and a lazy afternoon. Going out to our pizza place for dinner because I have a $5 reward that expires soon.

Congratulations all around.

I am in a group on Proboards that started with people from the DIS back in February 2010 after the big banishment happened.

I've had them. They are just annoying. Mine mostly came out with a sneeze or cough. I don't get them as often now as when I was in college.
Tonsil stones! I never heard the term, but I recognize your description and the ejection with a cough.

My tonsils came out at age 46. It was so freeing not to deal with the problem again and no more bad breath, etc. Those little pods of calc used to stink if I remember correctly. Having the surgery presented no probs for me personally, and I was back to work quickly, but a coworker who suffered from the same issues decided to have the surgery and she complained a lot and took a lot of time off. It's been so long, I'd forgotten I'd ever dealt with this until reading today.

I've spent sooo much money removing dangerous trees! I love trees but it's not good to have certain 40-50 foot trees so close to your home and dropping branches or even falling on your house. There's one in my neighbor's yard I want gone because it towers over my kitchen area, only about 10-15 ft away and it's at least 40 feet and a maple so yes, it will drop lots of leaves, branches and even itself if the right wind hits.

The Rose of Sharon has finally bloomed:
Mine hasn't bloomed yet, but I wacked it really good (on purpose) this spring. It's doing well though, so hopefully soon.

Good morning everyone. I kept getting the error messages, so I gave it a break for a day or so. Obviously I got on this AM, but of late it can seemingly go either way!

I'm in the office till a bit after noon, then heading up to PHL to pick up the old man. I think I'll be out of the office tomorrow, at least that is my plan. Beef pot pie for dinner this evening, and eldest is bringing Indian food over Friday night, which I'm very much looking forward to. I'm putting off some paperwork, I should get to it -

Good Morning 🌷

So many little Amazon ads :P And one bigger (longer) one for Amazon Fresh. We use both Edge and Chrome. I honestly don't care for either. I most often use Edge, while dad prefers Chrome. Some sites like USPS, only work with Chrome for orders. I thought the old Internet Explorer used to work okay.

Dad just read that consumer prices have gone up over 9% :scared1: Crazy and so wrong in so many ways. Prayers that each of you are able to get what you need!

Beautiful flower PollyannaMom! So funny and true about kids and coats. I remember being freezing outside at times when the kiddos I was teaching barely had on a jacket.

Carol, I'm sure the muffins were tasty no matter how they were made because their main ingredient was the love you and Tessa put into baking them. I often took CPR and First Aid as a teacher, too.

Footballmouse, what a fun name for a cat--Twix! I was never a big candy person. I did like Nestle Crunch, Kit Kat, and Hershey kisses at times. Oh and as a young child I always thought the pumpkin shaped candy corn were the best and somehow tasted a ton better than the regular triangle shaped candy corn. I also was not big on caramel, like dad. Anyway I remember once or twice a year, I really did enjoy a Twix!

Hug, B&B. I'm sorry you're still having appliances trouble. LOL, things we don't necessarily need to do, often do seem more promising to take on that tasks more at hand, don't they? Glad you enjoyed a good show last night.

Hug, Judique, and continued prayer all-around.

Enjoy some time off, Easyas!

Beautiful smile, Lily has, Lynn! Hooray for her and always for YOU :)

Thinking of you also, Pea, Snowysmom, Frog, Dazed, Kirby, AuntieMe3, Bobbiwoz, and anyone else I inadvertently left out, prayers you all are well, too. Will check in later.

Hi all. Just a short pop on to say hi. I’m surviving this week, but I can’t wait for it to be over. And, it really won’t be wrapped up until Monday afternoon.
I’m really struggling as my husband is being very bold about his relationship with the other woman and she’s around my kids way more than I realized. I just can’t seem to get a handle on it as far as keeping my mind from running all the time. I just can’t get them out of my head. I know it’s not healthy, so I’m going to focus on the that when I see my therapist next.
I will try to read over and reply to others more soon.

Sending thoughts and prayers to all who are struggling in one way or another.

Frog I hope you can settle your mind a bit once this week is done. I keep a list of what I want to talk about with my therapist. I am really scatterbrained lately so it helps.

I was in the office today and it is nice to see people. I am thinking seriously about going in 2 days a week once the office is only 5 minutes away. I asked coworkers if they were going into the office once we move and a few will be in on Tues and Thurs so I think I will too.

I have a very heavy heart today. I keep in touch with 2 of Chris's close cousins who he adored and they adored him. I told you the one who is like a brother has his 5th recurrence of cancer and will be treated soon. He is a fighter and fights to win. Last week his other cousin who is 80 told me he was not feeling well and thought it was reaction to a med. Doctor did too. He called me yesterday. He is in the hospital. He has brain cancer probably metastatic but they cannot see from where. I am just so upset. He and his sister make up his immediate family. She is in a nursing home with dementia and not able to care for herself at home. He is now alone as he was never married and did not have children. Chris was his go to person for executor of his will etc. When Chris passed he changed that to my 2 sons. My older DS is the health care person and younger DS is the executor and power of attorney. I told my kids last night and older DS just stepped right up, called his cousin, and asked if he could talk with his doctors today. And he did. Now DS is waiting for a call from the oncologist. It does not look like a good prognosis and I know Chris' cousin is scared. I think it will help him to have older DS, who is a physician, talking with his doctors. At least DS will be able to understand what the doctors are saying and ask good questions. Chris cousin is worried about his sister too. Thankfully she is in a caring place. He asked me to send her some crossword books and chocolate so I did that last night. We hope to go visit him this weekend. I am so upset that both Chris's cousins are fighting against cancer. Please keep them in your prayers. 2021 and 2022 have not been good years for our family and I would like to just flush them away. We did get a new baby which is a blessing so there is that.

It is a bit warmer than I like today but I was out walking around. I saw a corgi. Yesterday I saw a westie puppy. I like to see the dogs but I know in my heart that I cannot have another dog. I also saw a young child learning to ride a bike. That is a plus for this complex, seeing dogs and people of all ages.

Have a good day.

@Breezy_Carol sending prayers their way
@frog3101 --Hugs..hang in there!

Sunny and 83, but beautiful breeze. Windows open, fans going, no need for ac. Did laundry and dishes..and am doing more binge watching of Hawaii 5-O . I am up to season 6..so only about 250 more to go. I could just put the dvd's in, but it's easier to just watch it from the dvr and FF thru ads..I am being lazy today, lol!

Lily's ear is much better today, stepdaughter said it's gone from an 11 on the pain scale down to a 5, so I guess the antibiotics are starting to do their work

:grouphug:❤️and much continued prayer, Frog and Snowysmom. We are here and so very much care.

:cheer2:Hooray on Lily's ear, Lynn! Praise God. I am thrilled to hear that for once you are resting, yay! About time, lol :)

Excited to share I received a very kind email from Matt from 99. They are going to bring Sue a birthday basket surprise on July 26th, her 99th birthday. I am so happy for my friend and can't wait to hear all about it. I did ask Matt whether I may send him (for him and Janna, as well) thank you cards in care of the 99 Corporate office address. I would love to do that. One day, God-willing it would also be great to get to thank them both in person.

Have a good afternoon, friends🌸
