Yes, they are Rose of Sharon.
Just sent a photo of "Rose of Sharon" to my aunt Sharon, who is celebrating her 54th anniversary!
I took advantage of Prime Days and ordered a few things from
Amazon yesterday
I like the strategies here - keep the "on the fence" purchases in your cart and then when Prime Days come along... purchase! How often do these magical days appear?
We finished watching Ms Marvel on D+ last night
We have to start the Ms Marvel series - we finished Obi Wan and we've been working through some of the old Disney classics in anticipation of our trip. We're staying at POR, and I've NEVER seen the Princess and the Frog, so we watched that, and have now completed three of the four Toy Story films (amazing animation for their time), Beauty and the Beast (another one that I have never sat down to watch from beginning to end).
Attaching the pic of my niece (with permission) of her with the braces off.
Gorgeous! She must love the feeling of NOT having the braces in her mouth. Just a few more months for DS and his should come off...
I went to "Midsummer Night's Dream" matinee performance at Bard on the Beach with my DS and a friend - tent theatres and the performances are always about 90% true to Shakespeare with some interesting twist on theming, costuming and/or content. It was hilarious and a nice reminder of how much I love and miss the theatre. And of how much my DS loves it as well!
The ex came for dinner last night, which was lovely, and he is still on the fence about whether he wants to go to the viewing of his best friend next Wednesday. There's no service - just a 30 minute viewing, so I suggested that we go to see the family, but he can decide whether he wants to enter the viewing chamber when we're there. The last viewing he had experienced was when he was nine and his father was laid out on the dining room table with a scarf tied around his head to keep his mouth closed, so I completely understand his hesitation. I told him that we can go out and have "Wednesday Wings" in his friend's honour, as we so often did that when he was with us. Tough decisions, but I haven't heard many people say they regret going to a viewing - what are all of your experiences? I know death is so personal, but closure is important - it means different things to different people. I read a few articles on it - double blind studies where they would interview people immediately after a funeral with and without viewings, and then two or three months later, have them fill out a survey as to how they were feeling. Interestingly, the ones who did attend the viewing experienced more difficulty at the time, but a greater sense of peace and tranquility after the fact.
I just spent two hours on the phone with my other aunt, sorting out our Disney accounts and tickets. We're all set now - I think we've done all the pre-planning we can, and we're in the hands of the airlines and at the mercy of the masses! I took the plunge and bought Cirque tickets - after the performance yesterday, I'm so glad I did, as I didn't realize how much I've missed live theatre. I'm still shocked at the prices though - not even 10 years ago, we had
free dining at a moderate resort with park hopper and waterpark tickets for about half the price that this trip will cost us! But... life is short, spend it with those you love, and laugh as much as you can.
Have a wonderful week all -
