Finally home..after another 'short trip' to Walmart, which took my niece 45 minutes to just buy 25 bottles of water, a clearance baby item, and 2 things of disinfecting wipes. I got 10x more than her and was done 20 min before her..lol..I picked up a couple of extra pillows since he has to keep one under his arm, and one under his leg when they are elevated.

I was just getting ready to leave the hospital when PT finished, when in comes a guy from the medical equipment place. Bringing a brand new wheelchair and a brand new walker. Medicare says they will only pay for the arm support if we take the new walker..so I said fine..we will just come home with 2 of them, since I brought hubby's up last week. lol. Supply place said they never get requests for arm supports, but have gotten like 10 in the last 3 days..so they didn't have anymore. Rehab is letting us take the one that's on the walker now, and we will switch it out when they get a new one in. That was nice of rehab to do.

I just finished putting stuff away, fed the cats, paid first of the month bills, and am off to find something to eat and collapse. I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be a long day, so please send good vibes and prayers if you are so inclined. The step is still going to be the big thing, although he did it 3x in PT today. His daughter has a friend who is coming to help us , just in case we need a little extra man power, lol

Have a nice evening everyone..it's 80 and breezy here!

Huge hug and continued prayers, Kirby for both Mike and your DD for healing to recognize that God has and always will be with them. He is indeed in control and has them both (and you, my friend, too, of course).

Lynn, that is actually wonderful news that you will have both a brand new walker and wheelchair at no cost! Much prayer and hugs always continuing for you and Mr. L!

That is great news, DazedX3. Indeed every penny sure does count extra where kid’s expenses are concerned. Prayers for healing!

:grouphug: and 💛 to all three of you extra.

Are any of you Staples Rewards members? Dad got an email yesterday offering 50% back in rewards on any one ink purchase. You did not have to also buy anything else to qualify. He looked up our Canon combo pack last night and it was not available on staples.com. He accidently deleted the email :( So now that the ink IS available we aren't currently able to use it. He did try calling staples.com to no avail. I will try chatting online with them later just in case. I thought it was worth asking if any if you also got this offer and are not planning to use it. It was valid through this coming Saturday. Thank you so much! The money really would mean a lot to us to be able to get back. I know they are offering 20% off right now which we may end up doing.

Wishing all of you a good evening!

Have you checked on Retail Me Not? Often, people will post the codes they receive in emails. It can't hurt to check! I'll check my emails to see if we received something from Staples.

Good morning all. Was so tired last nite I forgot to even look for Saturn. I fell asleep around 9:30, woke up thinking it was time to get up, and saw it was only 10:08 lol. Woke again at midnite and 2 am, slept till 3:30. Trying to remember all I have to remember and do for today I guess.

Had a little water fight with the raccoons this morning, and I won again. I can't even feed the outside cats till light out, or the raccoons will just keep coming back and eating it.

Have a nice morning--will try and check in later this evening after we get Mr L home a situated, again, thank all of you for the prayers and support. It was exactly 30 days ago that he went to the ER,, time for him to get home!

Wow, that is a long stretch! Congratulations to him on doing what he needed to do in rehab so he can come home!

Great news that Mike had some feeling returning as well, @Kirby!

Good Morning!

Big prayers Lynn for you and your DH as he comes home today! I truly am so thankful that he is :) You both have come so far.

Continued prayers for Mike, Kirby.

I finished watching Reunited at Christmas last night. I did remember seeing it once before. I loved when Simon (Samantha's fiance interviewed an elderly couple of their hometown) and was so happy when Samantha's parents Bill and Claire got back together. Did any of you who have seen this movie recognize the home that it was filmed in as being one for another Hallmark Christmas movie? It felt and looked familiar? My only thumbs down about this sweet story is that yes, I wish the grandmother had been alive and alive plus felt it was sad that the Murphy family never once went to church :( Definitely though a feel good tale :)

Good morning one & all! Hope everyone is having a good week so far -

Kirby - Continued good wishes that your daughters friend continues to recover. My brothers and few of my nephews do dual sport and some motocross stuff, and my own sons dabbled in motocross when they were younger. We've had two serious crashes in the family over the years, thankfully they recovered eventually. Getting a 50 when you turn 4 or 5 is a bit of a right of passage in our family... I was never so happy as that day when my eldest son sold his street bike though, that really scared me!

Lynn - Good Luck today! Wow, I can't believe it's been 30 days, that is amazing. I was thinking - I know it can be a bit dicey up there in terms of services, but I think Uber now might serve the Cumberland/Frostburg area if that is of any help to you...of course, who knows how many, what availability and whatnot is really & truly available up there. But maybe it could help with the transportation snafu you have.

Not a whole lot going on in my neck of the woods. Headed down to southern DE in a few minutes to go to two jobsites. Looks like I'll be on the road most of Thursday as well.

We picked the rest of the crabs from Saturday last night, even though my husband was eating them as we went along  , still managed to get 1.5 lbs of crab meat in the freezer. I think they'll probably go crabbing a few times now that it's August, August & Sept. seem to be the best months up our way for crabbing. Takes the sting out of it just a little bit when picking to know that I didn't pay out the nose for the crabs!

Circumstances do change, but as of now I've got no plans for this weekend! And I'm not complaining...oh I'll have the usual chores around the farm that need to be dealt with. But other than that I've got no big plans. I'm hoping to get some reading in.

Good afternoon all..this report comes to you from home..with Mr L in his chair, safe and sound. It was so sweet..every single person working on that floor lined both sides of the hall..even some of the other patients on the floor were out there..they have a 'celebration bell' that you ring when you are leaving. Half of them, along with me and Summer were crying. Kevin (PT person) wanted to be the one to walk him down in the wheelchair and get him in the car. I turned to give him a big hug, and he had tears in his eyes too. They are sending a home care nurse, OT person and PT person to the house..all paid in full by Medicare, to help him get back on his feet sooner. I just wanted to say thank you again, to each and every one of you for all the support and prayers..they worked!

Good afternoon bump.

DGD and DSonIL were here this morning for her swim lesson. She was so cold when she got out I made her hot chocolate. Since then I have emptied under our bathroom sink. We need a new faucet and are going to try to replace it ourselves. Also cleaned the track of the screen on our upstairs sliding door. It is very difficult to open so after it dries, will spray with silicon. DH is out getting a repair done on his car.

I am going to make a separate post with pictures of the final choices and first runners up for dresses. Then, hopefully, that is done.

Great news Lynn.

Carol - love all of them, but especially the rehearsal dinner winner & 1st runner up! Good choices!

this report comes to you from home..with Mr L in his chair, safe and sound.

Oh good, I'm sure he is glad to be home in his own space, with his own stuff, and his own people (and cats & racoons ::yes:: ) I hope he has a good night, and you have a good nights sleep!

Welp - I'm a bit bummed. Well, not bummed -I don't know. I guess I just wasted my time - My SIL was out of town last week and forgot to pause her Home Chef order, so it came in and we divided it up and tried it. Wasn't to bad - so I went back and forth and then decided maybe I'd give it a try. I hadn't been terribly interested in trying one of these meal services, but thought - why no? So I went on there and signed up and picked out a months worth of meals (2 or 3 per week). Finished all that up and went back to review the weekly orders. Then it occurred to me to check the nutrition - yikes! So I canceled the whole thing, my husband has a medical condition that is best served by not loading up on the salt, so we tend to eat more basic/fresh/simple meals - at least we do a several times a week. I'm not 100% great at keeping the sodium & processed foods at bay, but I do okay most of the time. Some of it looked good, interesting. But not with that sodium. Oh well. It's a good idea. Like I said, it wasn't something on my radar, so at this point I doubt I'll check other meal delivery places out, but maybe when I have a free few minutes in next month or two I will.

As usual, my schedule changes after I mention it. So now I was on the road today, I'll be on the road tomorrow morning, and I'll be up and back and up and back again to the vet on Thursday. Oh well - makes the week go by fast - right!?!?

I heard murmurings from the boy about going crabbing this weekend. Better get my picking fingers in gear. Or not, in case I've jinxed the whole shebang!

Yeah for Mr. L's sendoff!!!!

For the rehearsal dinner, the winner is:
That one is my favorite as well. :cheer2:

Same here. It definitely cuts out a lot of convenience options!

:cheer2:Lynn and Mr. L, too! So happy and thankful to God for you both that he is HOME--hooray!

Carol, thank you for sharing your dress choices, they are lovely. my favorite is also the rehearsal dinner dress.

Hug, Easyas, I'm sorry you went through all that for nothing.

FYI, should any of you ever want to update your email address, have much patience, time, and do not do it all in one day! :P I am fed up with Yahoo Email. Every single time today I have to "verify" my account by clicking on images, at least through two+ screens. I'm not able to easily log out or delete trash. Enough! I finally switched my secondary emails over to roadrunner. I will work on my personal and let those of you my new address as soon as I do :)

Wishing all of you dear friends, a good night.

An evening thread bump.

I think Carol asked my location…I’m in the Midwest, so I’m probably “sending” you your weather in MD. I just get it a few days before you. Also, very nice dress choices.

Wonderful to hear that Mr. L. is home and he has reinforcements coming to help him get back to ship shape. This is I‘m guessing a huge relief to you Lynn. Both having him home, and all the help that will be coming. Enjoy your time together.

Dazed-after my last complete flop of a yard sale I said never again. Kudos to those who can do them, but for me, they are too much work and not enough profit. I don’t expect to make enough to retire but i would like to feel it was worth my time. Also, I’m not sure if bartering is a thing at yard sales where you are, but it is here. While I myself can and do appreciate a good deal, I do get tired of people asking if I will take something off an item that is .50 or .25. Nope I won’t. :snooty: And, I never ask anyone to at those prices when I’m shopping at sale. Sorry, small rant, clearly I’m not over my last attempt at having a sale.

easyas- that’s frustrating for sure to go through all that for nothing, but I guess it’s better you figured it out now and before the first delivery.

Nothing really to report from here. Temps have been pretty tolerable the last couple,of days, but the heat and humidity are snaking back up.

We have been getting a few tomatoes and peppers from the garden. The sweet corn still has a Bit to go. We got started late in planting and then it was spread out so things are getting ”done” at all different times. The garden isn’t big, but it’s enough.

Have a good night all.

Good morning all. Long night. He was afraid to try our bed just yet, so slept in his chair. I slept on the couch near him, just in case. Trouble is , he kept the tv on all night with the Olympics..so I had to sleep with a pillow over my head to block the light and sound. Had to move furniture around a bit, and we have to figure out what works and doesn't, but we will get it. Very muggy out, says chance of rain, I don't believe it though. Have to water later on. Took trash down to the street, fed the cats. Just got hubby his morning pill that has to be taken an hour before all the others, and then we are both going back to sleep, without the tv on, for an hour or more..lol
Have a nice morning all!

Also..thoughtful people that they are, one of the nurses and one of the PT people called to make sure he got home okay, and ask how he was doing. I have to get working on the thank you cards for them today!

Good morning everyone. Been a busy couple of days so not really on here that much.

Lynxstch so happy your husband is home. I know what a relief that is. When my husband finally left rehab I had my mom make her famous Jewish Apple Cake for them all to share at his station. It was still warm from the oven when I delivered it. I ran into one of his nurses a few weeks later and she thanked me. They all loved it and the fact that I thought about them enough to thank them for his care.

I'm in a bit of a down mood today. My grandmother's birthday would have been today and I miss her so much. Tomorrow as was our tradition, I will go get a sundae or banana split in honor of her memory and to celebrate our birthdays together. Mine is Friday, and I miss her more this week than the rest of the year. I try and tell my grandkids about her because she was the best. I have always said if I can be 1/10th the grandmother that she was I will have honored her memory.

Well off to get the grandsons to Day Camp. They had a positive test from one of the other campers so the mask rule is being reinforced but sadly the Department of Public Health has canceled all outings for the last 2 weeks. I make sure they have their masks anyway. This virus can be scary.

Pleasant day here still in the mid 60's. Hope it stays this way for the weekend.

Have a great day All.

...after my last complete flop of a yard sale I said never again.

I feel the same way. Our street used to coordinate so a bunch if us had them on the same day, but after a couple of tries, I decided it just wasn't for me.

Now I donate stuff to local charities or to my DH's lodge when they have a flea market.

She sounds wonderful! I was very close to one of my grandmothers as a kid as well (and our birthdays were also the same week 🙂 ). DS did get to "meet" her but he was only a baby at the time. I need to tell him more about her too.
