Good Morning everyone,

I am so thankful Mr. L had a good first night back home, Lynn! Prayers you both have a relaxing day today! I am also so glad you have been receiving calls of support from care people!

Hugs, Taz Dev, what a special Grandma you had. I was also very close to mine so I know how precious that relationship can be!

DazedX3, Frog, and Pollyanna, I also agree that often times yard sales are more trouble than they are worth! The only two my family ever had that actually did well were years ago shortly after my grandfather died, we had a HUGE garage sale. Grandma and I years later semi regretted some of the choices we made of things to sell but what was done was done. The other time was when my dad and I had a lawn sale that did well. All others were a bust!

Hugs to all and Happy Wednesday!🌸

Geez 1:30 already. At least we got breakfast accomplished by 11..we both went back to sleep after I moved furniture around so he could put his recliner back farther..we both woke up after 9. Just finished getting him all cleaned up and clean clothes on and he's doing the puzzle now. Then it will be a light salad for lunch,,then dinner around 5:30 or so. I hope the visiting nurse doesn't plan on coming at 8 am, because I can't see either of us being ready that early in the morning. I am already tired, back hurts, and I need a nap,,lol. But we will figure it all out and get on a better schedule soon.

I have to call 3 Drs tomorrow and change appts. No way is he going to be ready to go see the cardiologist on Monday, or his PCP on Tuesday (unless its a virtual appt). He has one for the COPD clinic on the 24'th that we were already told could be virtual..and no idea why, but instead of the ortho who took care of him , they referred him to some guy at the new Sports Medicine place about 2 min from here. I don't see that one happening on the 19'th either. He has to be able to walk better, get down the step, into the car, back out of the car and into these places. And I cannot push that wheelchair very far,,it's too darn heavy!

Ok..vent over,,back to your regularly scheduled days..lol..

Its sunny and 82 but a little breeze blowing through. We had a whopping 10 minutes of rain this morning,,that did absolutely nothing :(

But we will figure it all out and get on a better schedule soon.

I'm sure once you guys get used to your 'new normal' routines you'll have it down pat in no time! And I'm sure he is already feeling better about being home and in his own space - I'm guessing that goes a long way to feeling better.

I happened to drive by a Panera today - didn't stop - but I was instantly in the mood for tomato bisque and grilled cheese panini! So that is what is on the menu tonight. Easy and simple. And I'm not in the mood to spend any more energy for anything beyond that.

Gotta keep the poor dog from eating or drinking anything after 6 tonight, so I'm headed home to let her do some running around and drink some water. I HATE keeping water from them, although I understand perfectly why I have to do it. Wish it was easier to communicate to them "you can't drink water but don't worry, you'll get a IV of fluids"...how does one say that in dog :lmao:

I love that you said this. I do wish it were possible!

Quiet day today.

Made a vegie stir fry for dinner that turned out ok. Used up some fresh vegies I had in the fridge. Even the cats liked it.

Please say a prayer for my sister in law and her family. Her younger brother passed away from Covid earlier today. Her family is in Florida and I am praying no one else gets it. I don't think her heart could take it as she is not in the greatest health as it is. Thankfully she has her new twin granddaughters to keep her happy.

Many prayers said for your SIL and family. How sad :(

Oh that is so sad, I'm sorry to hear of your families loss. I hope they can find some peace to get them thru this.

Lynn, glad to hear your DH is home. I bet he feels a 100% better. Still praying for both of you.

Tazdev, prays for your SIL and family. I have a friend whose DH is in ICU on a ventilator. I can't remember if I told you about him or not. He's been in the hospital for almost three weeks with Covid and double pneumonia. He was put on the ventilator Monday.

Carol, I love your rehearsal dress. The others are okay. Isn't it amazing how each of us like different ones? Would be boring otherwise if we all thought alike.

DD's friend, Mike, is doing okay. Still not much feeling to speak of but it's early year. There are plans in motion for him to be moved to a rehab facility this weekend/early next week that will be closer to home.

I've begun wearing a mask when I'm out in public.

Dinner tonight was chicken and rice with broccoli.

Good evening everyone.

:cool1: Woo Hoo for 600 pages!

@TazDev, sorry for your family's loss.

@lynxstch, hopefully things will improve as you get into a routine. And when PT comes, make sure their goals are the same as your goals. Have Mr L work on the things he needs to do, like get into bed.

Tessa was here a good part of the day. Picked her at 8:30 from DD's office. Came here and made chocolate chip cookie dough. Went across the street for her last swim lesson. Came home for lunch then baked the cookies and played a while. Drove her back to her house in Middletown and visited Carter and and their dad a bit.
Then returned 5 dresses to Macy's to get my credit.

Dinner was tuna salad, hard boiled egg, and tomato from my garden.

I think Carol asked my location…I’m in the Midwest, so I’m probably “sending” you your weather in MD. I just get it a few days before you.
It was me. Thanks. And please only send the good weather.

they are too much work and not enough profit.
That is the way I feel about yard sales too, unless you have something really good to put out. Our neighborhood is having one October 2 and I may or may not participate.

Isn't it amazing how each of us like different ones?
My FIL said that's why they make chocolate and vanilla. As long as DH (And DD and DDIL) approve.

I've begun wearing a mask when I'm out in public.
Yep, us too. Back to masking.

Can I say I am glad Christmas in July is over. I am not a fan.

Good morning DIS family! 60 degrees out now, but going near 90 again for the next few days. And we just had another power hiccup, had one yesterday too. Haven't had them in a long time,,but the cable co says that is what takes out the boxes the most..so it better not! And we will need the ac , so I have to call the power co when they open and ask what is going on.

I slept in the bedroom last nite, instead of the couch. He slept in his chair, but at least the tv sound was low enough that I couldn't hear it over the sound of the oxygen machine. He only woke me up twice needing something, so that's a plus. But I woke up with a headache, and was awake on and off a lot during the night anyhow.

Still no call from the home care nurse, or OT, or PT, so if they don't call this morning I will have to figure out who to call to find out.

Have a nice morning all..prayers to all who need them!

Good morning everyone.

Thank you all.

@Kirby - Prayers for your friend.

Food distribution today and then come home to pack for my shore get-away. Only going to be gone for the weekend but I am so looking forward to some sun on my face, sand under my feet and salt water splashing. I usually go down 3 or 4 times a year but haven't really done anything with Covid around. We will have our masks and social distance as much as possible. But to watch the sunrise over the ocean is so calming to the soul. I love to get up early and head to the beach with my camera in hand. I cannot wait. The perfect way to turn "old" as my grandkids like to tell me.

When I was their ages my Gram and I would go down to Wildwood every year and usually around our birthdays. We would go on the beach early, right after breakfast. She didn't want me getting a sunburn. In the afternoon we would hang around the apartment she rented or go to a movie. I still remember seeing Bye Bye Birdie at the shore and it still holds a special place in my memory. Dinner was ALWAYS at one restaurant and I always ordered the exact same thing - the entire week - roast beef, mashed potatoes and corn. When she passed away my husband took me to the restaurant for dinner and I ordered the same thing again, I couldn't break tradition. I felt her presence so strongly I ran out sobbing, I had promised her right before she passed away that I would bring her there again that year for our birthdays and she came, it just hurt so much that it was in spirit only. I would love to go there again this year but the restaurant went our of business after 80 years because the grandkids no longer wanted to do it.

I have a new tradition with my grandkids. We go down for the day. Pack a lunch, stop at McDonalds halfway there and make a pit stop and get some fries. We spend the afternoon on the beach and walk the boards. I save my change all year and then turn it in at the bank. The kids then each get $5 from that to spend however they want but they know once that is gone I will not waste anymore on the games. I worked at an amusement park for the games concession and know how they are all rigged. We head home that night tired and happy. Dinner is sometimes pizza on the boards or the same McDonalds for burgers. It's a 2 hour drive each way so it depends on how tired I am and how late we are staying.

I am so looking forward to tomorrow and starting a new tradition with my grandsons.

Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning, everyone :)

I had such a nice surprise yesterday afternoon. I got to chat briefly with a friend I had not seen the the start of the pandemic! God's timing is always right on time! I had texted Barbara about something to low and behold find out she was just finishing up an appointment 10 minutes from me. I had some gifts for two other mutual friends who she would be seeing soon anyway so that was an added Blessing to be able to give those to her to finally gift to them! We got to talk from a safe distance for a good 15 minutes, just lovely and so much nicer than strictly as we had for the last year and a half by phone :)

Hugs, Lynn, and many prayers today brings needed calls and support!

I love that tradition. Taz Dev! What special memories you are creating with your grandkids!

Happy Thursday to all! 🐥

Color me jealous..I hope you enjoy your weekend..you deserve it. We need the same thing, as soon as it's possible again. Turn as 'old' as you want to while there!

Awww that made me tear up. Your husband was so sweet to take you to the same restaurant, but I understand why you had to run out. So sorry that they are out of business, after 80 years,,wow!

Visiting nurse called at 8:45 and asked if she could come at 9:15. She was right on time, but man, she was a talker..she was here 2 hours! The hospital had told her he still needed the silver nitrate stuff on his wound, with special Aquacel bandaids..I told her all that was on it was a 4 x 4. She didn't believe me till she got here. She took it off,,and said it really doesn't even need that. There are 2 little spots, and a regular strip bandaid will do..or just let it air dry. The other nurse Matthew will come 3x next week, 2 the week after and once the third week. She said OT and PT have 10 days to call and let us know when they can come, but she's going to strongly suggest that they get out here soon. He needs that more than a nursing visit! At least we got that all out of the way, and are getting back to a normal schedule today , better than yesterday. It was 1 pm by the time he got cleaned up and dressed yesterday, never mind do anything else..and all that was done before 9, lol..its sunny and getting very hot outside!

Slow & Steady wins the race! Glad you are finding a routine of sorts.

Not much happening here. Still very nice out, but the heat and humidity will ramp up to normal August amounts by tomorrow, if not later this afternoon.
My husband wants to jar some of of his jalapenos, so I'm going to grab some jars this afternoon when I head up to town to pick up the pup from the vet (dropped her of for her spay this AM). This evening I am going to tackle the HUGE pile of peppers and tomatoes on the counter. Bell peppers get cut up and frozen, tomatoes get cup up & stewed or blanched or whatever and frozen. It'll take me a bit but It's not the worst chore, it's kind of satisfyingly to put a few veggies we grew ourselves in the freezer for future use this winter. Mind you - I don't need that much nor do I want that much in there!!! We always end up with way to much! Then I'm the idiot trying to pawn off zucchini to people who are trying to figure out how to get ride of THEIR zucchini :rotfl2: and peppers.

Dinner this evening is a cheesesteak for him, BLT for me. Trying to use up various random ingredients around the fridge. Tomorrow is pork chops simmered in a tomato-pepper (sensing a theme?!?!?) sauce all day till it's falling apart, I'll either toss a bunch of baby spinach in at last minute or serve with salad. Saturday & Sunday will be either sautéed soft shell crabs or stuffed peppers (there are sooooo many peppers).
