Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

I eat sorbets and gelatos mostly while the man and DGD are more interested in ice cream.
My all time favorite is Ciao Bella's citrus flavours. I'll eat any of them available and not share..oops. The man loves Talenti pistachio and the crazee grrlie (AKA DGD) their chocolate mint. When only one kind of ice cream can be bought it's choc/straw/vanilla which means there's something for all. Or at least that's what the majority says :lmao:.

PS- anyone who wants me to cut their hair must be on drugs. I can do a fine job cutting textiles and paper. Wield various types of knives w/ skill (It's not wise to argue with me when I've a butcher's cleaver or commercial length cimeter in hand. Just saying) but please don't hand me any form of hair cutting tools. True recipe for disaster, LOL.

Question of the day: 4/11: What's a favorite flavor of ice cream or frozen treat?

Do you eat ice cream or like a good popsicle or sundae? What's your guilty pleasure? I love the orange dreamsicle dip cones or dilly bars at Dairy Queen. I want to love things like Cold Stone Creamery but it's just too much for me. We don't eat big bowls of ice cream and I can't handle all that sugar together. I do like hot caramel toppings and some heath bit on my vanilla. I guess my favorite ice cream I pick up in the store is probably butter pecan or plain vanilla. Matt ruins his ice cream with peanut butter..bleh.

Ooh, Tillamook Vanilla Bean or Malted Moo Shake

Jeni's Darkest Chocolate or Blackout Chocolate Cake

Love ice cream! Right now, the freezer contains pistachio and Mickey bars.

I'd say my favorite flavor changes with my mood. Chocolate peanut butter cup (sorry, Tina!) makes the top of the list often, and DS and I both love Ben & Jerry's - Cherry Garcia and Phish Food.

Generally, I prefer hard scooped to soft serve, but there's one soft serve place not too far from me that has a coffee-chocolate swirl, and it is delicious!

And back when DH and I were in college, there was a place in town that made something called a peppermint snowball. It was peppermint ice cream, rolled in crushed chocolate cookies, and then topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce like a sundae.

We are due for a blast of cold weather tomorrow. I am hoping this will be the last and daffodils will appear soon.

I love the hair styling discussion. I gave my husband's hair a trim yesterday. So far I'm cutting mine just a bit at a time. And of course, I'm developing a nice silver streak down my part. I haven't decided what I'll do, color at home or not.

Q of the day- I love Culver's Frozen Custard. I'm missing it these days for sure.

OMG I would be in heaven over the peppermint snowball, that sounds delicious!

Oh That sounds delicious! I love coconut, I have never heard of that brand. I'm in Florida.

My favorite is Haagen Day Chocolate Peanut Butter...... so creamy and yummy.

Sometimes you can find Graeters at Publix or Walmart. It'll be with the 'speciality' ice cream creams (like Ben & Jerry), not with the mainstream (Breyers) You can order online too. (The brand I like, Jeni's, can be ordered online too!!!)

They have a black cherry chocolate chip that is very good.

It’s a Cincinnati Company. We can’t get it in NJ, except when we order it delivered.
Certain Kroger stores carry it. For instance, Houston and Hilton Head Kroger’s have it! When we visit, we buy!

I have to look now, we are in Ft. Lauderdale area.
Where are you?

We ate so much later than our normal dinner time but it was a fun meal. The man had bagel with sable, nova, and smoked chubb. Of course cream cheese + scallions made an appearance as well as a power green salad. Instead of cream soda he opted for a beer to drink. I had a bowl of shav (sorrel soup) and a few slices of sable with club soda. Dessert was hammantaschen (fruit filled cookies) and vanilla ice cream.

Doubt if DGD will be back today; her mother was supposed to call me last night to say and didn't. Not playing any silly passive-aggressive games with her so I'm not calling again and the three of us will have our Easter dinner tomorrow instead.

No idea what we'll eat tonight but there's plenty of food so I'll think on it later.

Google got a workout. I thought sable was a furry rodent and nova was a group of stars or Northern Virginia. At least you explained the other two. Who knew this was educational.

Happy Easter! Or Passover.

Happy Easter/Sunday to all!

I know that it's not what we are used to and for some of us we find the day lacking from our usual routine. One of the things I really like about Easter is the sign of season spring and starting with something new and fresh. This is the time you see baby animals being born, flowers blooming and we put down seed to harvest later. For me other than obvious Easter message, Easter is about hope and renewing of life. I miss our big family dinners and hugging my friends but I also know that I won't likely take it for granted any longer. I also know that every day is one day closer to this being over and every day I'm home I'm hopefully keeping someone else safe. I know several medical staff that would give anything to be home in pjs with their core family but can't right now. Because they can't, means I should so I will.

We are having a quiet day like many others. We did a nice cook our own brunch and "splurging" on take out from Cheesecake factory tonight. Our families are missing each other and I didn't get to see our nieces and nephews do an egg hunt but we did video chat and I sent them Auntie Tina kisses, which are the best you know.

Gratitudes:
1. Having a rooted faith to keep me going when I want to say screw it.
2. Being too stubborn to give in. I'm not going to let a freaking virus get the best of me!
3. The genius that made the cheesecake factory. A place where I can have multiple flavors of over-priced cheesecake
to eat my feelings, knows my heart.

Peace to all and happy Spring and new beginnings and good health.

Question of the day 4/12: Cookies? Yeah/Nay? What flavor?

I'm running out questions in my brain today LOL I have a jar of cookie mix with chocolate chips and m&ms on my island that was from a wedding shower. I don't particularly like m&ms in my cookies but what the heck it's still cookies! My favorite cookie is probably white chocolate macadamia from Subway truth be told. However, I am absolutely a cookie dough eater and I turn to the classic chocolate chip for such. When I was young and in love and trying to be prove what a catch I would be, I made a lot peanut butter cookies. I still make them every so often when trying to add to my wife points LOL

peanut butter blossoms
chocolate chip, soft

dang, I didn't plan any type of dessert, nor do I really have anything in the house...and now I want cookies!

Happy Easter All!

Today we did...more yard work! Ashamed to admit we still had wreath on front of house dormer so we climbed up on the roof and finally got that down. Plus I cleaned and moved around our sitting room and dining room. Dinner tonight will be junky natchos and a mexican train game session.

I make a few nice cookies:

Key lime cutouts with key lime icing
Oatmeal raisin
Brown butter chocolate chip
Double dark chocolate cherry

My mom also has a good sour cream cutout cookie recipe that we frost and decorate around the holidays.

I was going to make cookies today, but I ended up making and apple crisp yesterday to use up some apples and I cannot have that many baked goods in the house at once!
