I skipped yesterday, just wasn't feeling like posting. Kinda of a blah day. I made French toast from this hazelnut spread brioche bread that Fresh Market carries sometimes (it has hazelnuts on top too, so some crunch), to break in the new griddle, with some maple sausage. Came out very nicely. We had the leftover Chinese for a late lunch/early dinner, and then I baked some of those premade cookies from the dairy aisle (Reese's pb with Reese's pieces in them) in the countertop oven. (that thing is a blessing. It doesn't heat up the whole house like the oven and only takes 5 minutes to heat. I use it to make frozen pizzas, roast veggies, toast bread/bagels, bake chicken/pork/reverse seared steaks, etc. Still use the regular oven for baking breads/cakes, and other big meals, but the little one is very convenient.)
So, my funny memory is the time that DD#2 shaved DH's head.
It was DH's. He was thinning and decided to just take the plunge and go all in bald, instead of having those whispy strands not really covering anything. LOL DD said she would help, so they went into the bathroom and he sat where the washer and dryer were supposed to be (we didn't have a set at the time)....and gave her the clippers.
She went straight down the middle...like a reverse mohawk. Stopped and said "oops".(kinda had that look on her face, haha) I don't think she realized all the hair would go off. Then she asked "Are we doing all of it?"
He told her "yes, I'm not going around like this" and she got all indignant (like only a 6 year old girl can) and huffed back "Well I didn't know", then started shaving again.
So, DH hasn't had hair on the top of his head since 1999, and I have a humerous story to tell about the time DD#2 shaved her dad's head.
The bolded part just reminded me of when I did that to my husband. I always do his hair, and am usually very careful about making sure I have the right size trimmer comb on it. But a few years ago, I mustn't have been paying attention, and didn't notice I had NO attachment on, and went right up the middle of his head like your DD did. I said oops too, lol. He didn't want me shaving it all off though , but he did wear a hat everywhere he went for a few weeks till it grew back in. I am super careful now checking before cutting, lol!

) him sitting on a chair and me with clippers going ummmmm......are you sure I can't just put a bobby pin in it? That of course met with manly glares and saying just do it. I'm saying there no way in hell I'm shaving your head. I have to look at you and no one else at this point and I want to like it (see how all things wind back to me!) So I put the guards on and started slow in the back and then changed the guards to something else and hit the sides. He grabbed the top and started to cut down the top and I'm just cringing but it's not mine. All in all it's not bad! I've certainly seen worse and I'd take him out for date night if that was possible so win win for us. I did cut his hair years ago when we first married and super dirt poor. Then after I cut his hair, we had to scrounge up the money to go have it fixed so we started to budget for it
On the flip side I ordered hair dye from Madison Reed last night and told him he could be color stylist. That should be fun... And we thought excitement was dead in the marriage by 20 years

I did give him a clipper cut before we went to Florida this year, using the longest guide on the top, but it still cut his hair way too short. Our next appointment since returning was supposed to be this past Tuesday, so now his hair is overgrown. I managed to convince him to let me give him that mohawk yesterday, though...
