Good day to you all -

Taz, glad your daughter is feeling better.

We've had a rather productive weekend so far, just getting home from a morning of breakfast out and picking up some garden plants. Eldest & husband are weed wacking and I'm about to get in the tractor...I'll be saying that until November!! haha! Eldest already did most of the zero turn mowing, so we are way ahead of the game this weekend. I think we will call it a early day though, since we accomplished so much yesterday. Feels good to get major chores 100% done, cleaned up and completely finished.

Contemplating planting roses around new fenced area. I'm not a huge rose person, but they seem hardy and simple, and I am that person when it comes to my plants!

I also managed to think ahead and get a few things out of the freezer for dinner this week, not my strong point, so I'm glad I was proactive about
it. I need to get to the store and pick up some fresh vegetables and fruit tomorrow-

Stopped by on our way home this morning to see how it's going on eldest son's new house. Framed up, roof trusses going on soon. It'll be a nice little place for them we think.

Off to the fields for me, have a nice Sunday afternoon everyone. Hope it's as nice where you are as it is here.

Good afternoon.

The weather is getting nicer so I am spending less time at the computer, which I guess is a good thing.

This morning watched church live on YouTube. They are starting limited in person worship and have a new, upgraded sound and audio system they need to work the bugs out of. This Sunday was the reception of new members so only the new members and their sponsors were there. Next week is Carter's baptism and DD can invite 50 people but she is not inviting that many. I did invite several of my church friends.

After that, the exciting trip to the landfill for hazardous waste day. Came home and did a few chores, had lunch, then went to Fair Hill. Took a nice 3.5 mile hike. Checked on Mrs. Goose who is still sitting on her nest. Saw lots of May Apple plants and a few Jack in the Pulpits. Everything is getting so green now.

@Pea-n-Me, so sad about your friend.

@tazdev3225, glad you daughter is feeling better.

@easyas123, @lynxstch, and @sparkle78, sounds like productive days.

Tonight I am making taco salad with ground turkey. Low WW points.

Good afternoon,

I am so gratefully enjoying feeling warm! :sunny: I've spent the last hour deciding on pictures that will make a new Spring frame for my Dad. He'll pick up the needed photos at CVS tomorrow (without peeking, of course)! I also got together some mail for later in the week.

I'm not a huge rose person either, Easyas, but they sure are pretty 🌹 Glad to hear progress looks nice on your eldest son's new home.

Sounds like a nice Sunday Carol :) I'm again so grateful you will get to be a part of in person Carter's baptism.

Where do people buy men’s suits?
My DH and DS are the same, tall and thin. We always went to either Dillards or Mens Warehouse for DH. We have been to Steinmart for off the rack, ready to wear fitted suits for DS in the past and he has had good luck at finding ready to wear fitted suit separates at Dillards.

I HATE this virus.
 Hugs and prayers for you and your family.

I am having surgery on the 30th to repair a torn meniscus, hoping it will give me some pain relief.

My church is a non-denominational, independent church, so we do all our own recruitment/hiring.
I also grew up in a non-denominational, independent church, sounds like our process also way back when.

Good afternoon everyone.

I was a little out of sorts today, found out a friend of our family’s was killed in a car accident. Always difficult to get that news.
 Hugs and prayers to you and your friend's family.

It's only 9:30 and I am tired for the day. Both bathrooms cleaned, bathroom and kitchen floors cleaned, rugs washed, dishes done, all rooms vacuumed. Breakfast made, trash taken out, and defrosted a pork tenderloin for dinner. Waiting for Fed Ex to bring my Chewy delivery and then I quit for the day!
It wears me out to read all what you have accomplished! :)

We lost all of our rose bushes a couple of years because of Rose Rosette disease. We haven't decided whether we are going to take a chance and put some more in yet or not.

I left with four friends for a girl's getaway yesterday morning. We all haven't been away together for a year and a half now. We went to a lake house owned by one of their mom's at Bob Sandlin Lake. It was so nice there beside the lake. It was about an hour and a half drive. We had lunch at a local winery way out in the country. I had a Brie burger with melted Brie cheese, sundried tomatoes, caramelized red onion, fig tapenade, and arugula. It was delicious!! Then we went back to the house. The weather didn't cooperate and it was too chilly to sit outside so we fired up the fireplace and had a nice long chat. Then we put together a rather large charcuterie board that we all brought stuff for, too much to tell you what was on it but it was really good. We chatted for several more hours and then headed to bed. Got up this morning and the weather was just beautiful. We chatted for a couple more hours, had scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast. Stripped and remade the beds with clean sheets and headed home. It was so nice to get away. We got stuck in a huge traffic jam for 40 minutes due to an 18 wheeler losing control and crashing through the median, causing both sides of the highway to shut down. I came home to a clean house, yay!!

DH cooked steak and baked potatoes for dinner, I added oven baked shrimp and Ranch Style beans.

That sounds really, really lovely! So glad you got to do it! And thanks for the suit advice.

Good morning QUACKers..welcome to yet another week! Chilly 40 outside now, but going to be 65 and sunny. I got so much done yesterday, that I don't feel I have to do much today, lol. May just clean the stove and fridge and then chill for the day. Going to season a chicken rotisserie style and put it in the crockpot. Might make potato salad or coleslaw to go along with it. I have a bit of a headache, so going back to bed for an hour or so. Hubby is already up too, but I expect him to be back in his chair asleep within half an hour, lol. His leg is feeling better thankfully, and the Singulair really does seem to be working. Wonder why the Dr didn't prescribe that a long time ago! Have a nice morning all!
@Kirby, glad you got a little getaway, we all need that sometimes just to keep it together!

Me and my bright ideas. I got so many things done over the weekend, and since hubby was already up before 5 am--I decided to tackle one of the worst jobs on my Spring cleaning list. I just spent 3 hours shampooing all the carpets in the house..and there are a lot. The only rooms that don't have wall to wall carpeting are the kitchen and the bathrooms, lol. I moved as much of the furniture out of the way as I could, vacuumed really well with the shark, and then got the carpet shampooer out and cleaned them all. They look so much better! I just have to finish cleaning off the shampooer, put it out in the sun to dry (temp is already 55), and then I am taking a break! And I made sure to X that job off my list, lol.

@Breezy_Carol,,sounds like fun watching someone else do the big yard work for you, but then again, I wouldn't want to be paying for it, lol!

Good day everyone.
My tree order was supposed to ship in '2 weeks' as of the 5th of the month, now they are saying '3-4 weeks'. At this rate I'll have forgotten I ordered them by the time they arrive! And the warmer it gets the less excited I am about planting all of them >:(
Busy day at work here - my kind of day.

Good Morning Quacker friends,

Wow, we are more than halfway through April!

Hug, Kirby. I am so happy you had a nice getaway.

Love today's Pooh picture Lynn and hooray that Singular is helping your DH!

Pea, I hope you find some nice suits for your son.

Easyas, I wouldn't be too thrilled about planting in warmer/hot weather either. Hope the trees come earlier than later.

Have a good Monday, everyone.

Happy Monday. I've tried to reply a couple times the last few days but I guess I keep forgetting to post the reply, because my comment will still be sitting there when I come back to the page. :scared:

My sister and niece came to spend the night Saturday, we had a good dinner with my dad and yesterday we dropped a birthday gift off to a friend and spent the rest of the evening relaxing. Any says before that are a blur, I can't remember when I actually posted last so I guess that's it for now.

I'll be back later. :grouphug:

We got quite a bit done today. DH is working on repairing parts of our fence. I cleaned the inside of the refrigerator and freezer. Also got a dog crate out of the basement and cleaned it up. A friend from church who is DD's age had a house fire recently. Luckily everyone got out safely but there is a lot of damage and they can't get back in the house for 4 months. She was looking for a crate for their dog so I am getting this one to her parent's house.

We went out and bought some cards we needed and I bought 2 tomato plants for once my garden is ready to plant, and some petunias. Got them in a pot just to add some color to the yard.

Turkey breast in the oven and I have instant mashed potatoes and corn to go with it.

I do the exact same thing. And write an email and forget to hit send.

That made me literally laugh out loud @sparkle78 Thanks for that, I needed it tonight.

Earlier today I found out a friend of mine lost everything in a house fire. Thankfully the family and their pets made it out safe but everything else was a total loss. :sad1: I feel so terrible for them. Then on facebook an acquaintance made a post looking to help our friend find someplace to live for now and some hateful person made a mean comment about my friend whom she had a falling out with. Ugh...it made me soo upset, I had to say something....who does that?? With that and some other stuff going on, I've been out of sorts all day. DH had to head out of town for work so DD decided to buy me dinner....we had some Applebee's delivered. It was delicious and now I'm ready for an early bedtime. Tomorrow will be a better day.

Good morning all!
@sparkle78--that made me laugh out loud too, thanks for the smile to start my day!
@AuntieMe3-sorry about your friend and their loss, thank God that they all made it out safely. I would be blocking that 'acquaintance' of hers on FB pronto! That was very mean to do. I hope today is better for you!
I was so tired last nite I couldn't make it through both hours of American Idol, hubby got upset that I didn't want to finish it , I said watch it without me, I can watch it on tivo in the morning. I don't think it's fair to this years contestants that they brought back 10 from last year, one of whom will round out the top 10 anyhow.
Not much on my to do list today, still tired from all I did yesterday, I pretty much didn't stop till dinnertime anyhow. Glad that I had put a chicken in the crockpot and made potato salad in the morning, made for an easy dinner
Have a lovely morning all, going to be a 70 degree Spring day here!

Good morning, all! Thanks for the laugh, @sparkle78, and I’m so sorry about your friend’s house, @AuntieMe3. (I’m glad everyone got out OK.)

Not much to report yet this morning. All I’ve done is had my coffee and watched a bit of TV. - I finally finished “As Luck Would Have It” on Hallmark. I enjoyed it.

Now I’m out with one of the cats. Have to walk them early because Mosquito Ranger is coming to spray later today. It’s still a little chilly, but all the birds are singing.

I’m glad i could provide a little laugh, just like lynxstch provides us with some fun Disney cartoons to wake up too. So sorry to hear about your friend’s situation Auntiemae3 .

Today, is my youngest son’s birthday and coincidentally , my mother in law’s . They have been great birthday buddies, often getting ice cream together at a local place, or one year we even were in Disney World and running the Star Wars 5K on their birthdays. He requested an ice cream cake, so i ordered a PB cup, chocolate devils food, concoction from Coldstone Creamery. After I pick that up, I have to swing by Best Buy to get the video game they picked out - for Grandma - yep, that’s right they got her a Nintendo switch game for them all to play together.
Happy Tuesday!

How awful for them, glad they and their pets made it out safe.

yes indeed! It's going to be nice today - husband thinking about heading up your way this weekend or next to help out his uncle & cousins on the farm up there in Swanton.

Geez Louise, it may only be 8:15 AM in my neck of the woods but I think I could tuck into that right now, that combo sounds very good!

Good day all - obviously we've established I skipped breakfast - mistake on my part! I've got a Bobo's oat bar that will have to see me thru. I'm going to be thinking of Sparkle's cake all day!
Not a whole lot on the agenda today, a bit of this & that. I woke up this morning and realized I had slept thru the night without waking up (that I recall), and it's been months since that has happened. Now I'm racking my brain trying to think if I did anything different yesterday afternoon or evening that would have helped me sleep thru the night! Nothing comes to mind, just the usual stuff. Oh well, I'll take what I can get.

I've got stuff I need to laminate, so I'm going to go hunt up my laminator and get that done. Have a good morning everyone -

happy twinsies (or you can add me in and make it a triplets) birthday to your youngest son and MIL! :bday::cake:party:

I now check a different box on some of those forms, lol. I think that turning 30 hit harder than turning 50. :rotfl:

I am not getting a cake today, though I did wake up to a birthday card from DS on my desk this am, and DH said I have a package coming today and I am not to open it if he's gone, from the Disney store. DDs teamed up and sent me a little D&B wristlet (the Flower & Garden one, blue w/Minnie); and DD#1 sent me mother's day gifts as well (a cute tea box off Etsy, and a whale shark painted by DGS#2). I always tell them to not do anything, and yet they ignore me.

DH has a trip to Mayo today, to deal with a possible sleep issue solution. After he gets back, I'm going up to Starbucks to get my free coffee, and then to the health dept to get my 2nd vaxx. (Yeah, I didn't plan the timing on those well at all, did I? :rotfl2: If I had waited a week, both DS and myself could have been done on the same day, and I wouldn't have to drive there 4 times....AND I could have been having margaritas tonight!) We are having street taco off a local taco truck tonight (the complex has a food truck come in at least once a month). :woohoo:
