Yes, but if I haven't put in for vacation 16 months earlier I can't take advantage. Many people I know are in the same situation. And I'm not going to waste my first choice vacation option in the hope that there will be disounts a few months out. I need to know what I'm doing for Christmas 2026 right about now if I have any hope of getting that time off. We've only been able to cruise with Disney twice during Christmas time and both time were booked in the summer the year before.

I don't understand what you mean. If you book 16 months out you can still keep a look out for discounts on the cruise you booked. Why wouldn't you unless you hate saving money.

What I mean is that I can't book 16 months out if DCL doesn't release itineraries until 13 or 14 months out. And if I can't book 16 months out I can't get the vacation time approved. I can't take advantage of discounts on a trip I'm not able to book because the window for booking vacation time closed before the cruise was released. I always look for discounts closer to the day and often I can take advantage of them. But overall I get the best deals on average by booking as early as possible.

Can't you just take vacation Christmas week if that's when you want to cruise? Christmas week doesn't change.

I don't think anyone is begrudging anyone, but sometimes you have to adapt and overcome and go to plan B. DCL releasing itineraries a year in advance instead of 16 months in advance is not the end of the world.

I don't think anyone is saying it's the end of the world.
Some people said that the timing of DCL's itinerary releases may cause them to book a different cruise line or book a different trip altogether. Then others reacted with surprise that this could happen.
So some other people, including myself, offered examples of reasons why we might not book a Disney cruise based on factors in our life because of the delays in releasing itineraries.
Then people came back to argue......I'm not sure what exactly. If you don't believe that people can't book a cruise if there's less than 12-13 months of itineraries released that's fine I guess. It doesn't make it any less true for them.
