Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Dear Snowysmom, your coworkers are also blessed to have you in their lives as are all of us.

Dear Footballmouse, please stay watm and well.

I watched an extra Sunday sermon that my friend Pastor Louise preached. PM me if you would like the link. She shared a yard sign saying, that I think she has in her own yard, and it reminded me of all of dear you. The message says, "In a world where you can be anything, be kind." Extra love and thanks to each of you for being just that always!

Good morning. Sunny and 28, but it doesn't feel that cold out there to me. Going to 36 today. @Snowysmom I heard there was snow headed that way. Keep it up there, lol

I got all my cleaning out of the way yesterday and did a little Cyber Monday shopping. Summer wanted an electric kettle for Christmas so I got one online Sunday. from Walmart. Then I get an email about Cyber Monday sale and the same pot was $10 less. So I ordered that one, and will return the more expensive one tomorrow. Then I'm done with shopping. I have my Christmas cards written, addressed, stamped and ready to go in the mail. I just have to pack up gifts that go to FL and CO and ship them early next week. I don't trust the post office when they give their cut off dates., I'd rather ship early and know they get there ahead of the holiday.

I need to clean the fridge and gather trash. I did more cleaning the other day and have a couple of extra bags that need to go out.

Have a good day

You are smart dear Lynn to mail Christmas gifts early. I usually try to order early even for dad. I still need to decide what to get him. I have one special gift that I'm saving for when God willing I'm completely recovered.

Gift note is I believe this weekend Target Store gift cards are 10% off. Footballmouse and anyone else with a Kroger (Ralphs for me) tomorrow begins their 12 days of daily deals. Dad and I will check them out. Target actually may be doing the same thing.

Post Office reminder is these days stamps seem to go up in January. I do not know for sure this is to happen in 2025. Just a heads up if you are at the post office anyway you may want to ask and/or get extra stamps.

Have a great afternoon everyone.

Pea Great video. That is a chill cat in many ways but especially to wear that snow suit.

Good morning. It is 23 now with temps again into the 30s. The weather tonight and tomorrow will be wet and or snowy. Temps will be around 40 tomorrow then 32 on Friday with winds. After that, warmer in the 40s. Orlando will be in the mid to upper 70s with nights in the low 60s and upper 50s. I need to figure out how to dress. Most likely capris. I walked again at the lake and saw all the ducks. I did some more gift wrapping and wrote out the few Christmas cards I send. I will have to see how the weather is when I get up tomorrow to see if I venture into work or not.

Have a good day.

Good morning, 25 now going to 41. Snow showers tonight, windy tomorrow, then clearing and starting to warm up again.
Summer just doesn't listen to me. 2 weeks ago she started having trouble with her truck battery, having to use one of those jumper/charger things to get it started in the mornings. I tried to get her to stop and get a new one last week when we went shopping, but she kept saying it was fine. It was, until yesterday when she had to drive 4 hours to drop her husband off at his ride to work place, and then 4 hours back. The battery died, and it took them almost an hour to get it started again. When she got home at 10 pm, she texted me and said she thinks the terminal was loose, and it seems fine. I told her we are stopping at either Battery One or Advanced Auto and getting a new one, or we're taking my car. So we'll see if she listens to me this time.

Smokey, the black cat reappeared late yesterday afternoon. He had a cut on his side, but he let me clean it with peroxide. He sat by the food dish eating and drinking, I gave him a whole can of canned food, and then he disappeared again. Didn't come back this morning. I have no idea where he's been., but from the way he was eating, no one else was feeding him. He's the the friendliest cat, and if he's going to disappear, then disappear and stay gone, not just come back when he feels like it.

I need to jump in the shower and get dressed so we can go do errands and get groceries.

Have a good day

Lynn I hope Smokey comes back safely and stays.

Good Morning. I am not going to venture into the office today as the roads are coated with snow and it is still snowing. They are also saying snow squalls are possible and being in one on 495 before I do not want a repeat. We are supposed to get a couple of inches of snow. Yesterday it was 38 but felt so much colder with a chill. I did some errands I needed to do before my trip. I talked with my NH friend and did qi gong via zoom with my other wonderful friend. She leads a group of friends on Mon and Wed evenings. It is a nice group. Not sure what I will do today after work.

Have a good day.

Happy Friday Eve!

Brrrrr, it's cold! Windchill brings the temp down to 12 this morning.

Took Mia to the zoo yesterday. The Festival of Lights start at 5:00 so we got there at 3:30 so we could see the animals and not fight the crowds and traffic. We has a reservation to see Santa at 5:00 so we did that. She was a little hangry so she didn't sit on his lap and I ended up in the Santa pictures with her (not my plan). We walked around that area for a little bit and I let her pick out a stuffed animal, she chose Max the dog from the Grinch. By then it was getting dark enough that the lights looked beautiful and we grabbed some dinner. We rode the little train and then the carousel, she loved both of them. Next year when I buy their zoo pass for Xmas I'm going to add both of those to the pass. We left at 7:00 and she was out like a light in her carseat, even snoring.

We found out yesterday morning that the hospital is closing our unit in 2 weeks. The way management has handled this was horrible. They gave a 10-minute notice of the meeting so only about 25% of the staff was there. They changed everything around and said they were closing because too many staff members have turned in their resignations. The problem with this is that we actually had all the shifts covered through Dec. 31. They just don't want to take the responsibility for the closing. A lot of people were upset in the meeting (someone recorded it for those who couldn't go). I've just come to accept it. They are offering those of us who still haven't found anything a position in one of their other hospitals. They've picked the job that is equal to your current position, if you accept it, then fine, if you don't then you have to resign. This is their way of not allowing people to get unemployment benefits.

Headed to the grocery store after work tonight. I'm making a bundt cake and a pie for our big family Xmas party on Saturday. I'm looking forward to this. It will be nice to see everyone (all my nephews and their families).

Back to work, stay safe if you have bad road conditions in your area. Have a great day!

@footballmouse, so sad about the hospital situation. But, your zoo time with Mia sounds wonderful!

Have two doctor appointments today, a busy day here.

Gus got his yearly shots yesterday, and he’s very stiff this morning. They were able to trim his nails, he doesn’t always let them, but we actually gave him a sedative, so he’s a bit loopy from that as well.

The sun isn’t shining here in Cape May, and the wind chill is 22°. But no snow so that’s good. One dr is about 1 1/2 hours away.

Good day to all!

Good morning. It feels like the North Pole outside. It's 26 degrees going to a high of 28. The winds are terrible. I went out long enough to fill the bird feeders and the cats, and put out warm water, and I couldn't breathe when I came back inside. Smokey showed up to eat last night and disappeared right after he finished. I hope he's found a warm spot to spend the nights.

Waiting for Summer yesterday was like waiting for paint to dry. She was doing a couple of foreclosure inspections for her job and it took her longer than she thought it would. It was almost 2 when she finally got here. I made her stop at the battery place 30 seconds down the road. Good thing, her battery was bad. She had to shut it off for him to check it and when she tried to start it again, it wouldn't do anything. He said it was a 5 year old Walmart battery and he was surprised it lasted that long. I bought her a new battery and he put it in. Now I know she won't get stranded from the car not starting when she's on the road doing the inspections.
We went to Walmart and Aldi, and timed it right and Lily's boyfriend got done with work just as we were pulling out of the mall driveway. The highway department is just about across the street so we got him, to save her a trip back up as soon as we got home. We stopped at Checkers, it was almost 4:30 and I hadn't eaten all day. I got one of their bbq brisket melts (only 3.99) and had that for dinner. It was surprisingly good. I made a salad with it and that was enough for me.

Aldi wasn't too busy, Walmart was a zoo, but even with all the people I got an empty U Scan and got out quickly. I was right next to a cashier manned register, and the line for that was like 10 people long.

I was minding my own business when someone came up from behind me and said "Excuse me, I just got an alert that you were shoplifting." I turned around to say WTH , when I realized it was Lily, lol. Summer hadn't told me she was working, so it startled me. She was in charge of the U Scans for her shift. We chatted for a few minutes before I headed outside.

I'm not venturing outside today, and I don't think I'm doing any cleaning. I'm going to take the day to relax. I might wrap a few gifts, or just watch some tv, curled up under a blanket with some peppermint cocoa.

Have a good day, stay warm if you're in the freezing temps.

Woke up to the first snow of the season here:

Woke up to the first snow of the season here:

Send me some!!!

Good morning everyone.
We've got the cold temps coming in today, and the wind as well - much like many others. It was spitting a bit this morning, but not expecting anything of consequence.
How was everyone's Thanksgiving? Ours was good. 14 people & 4 dogs in total. Whew! But we made it work.
Not much is going on with us. Work, holiday stuff keeping us busy. Got tickets to a holiday storyteller event this Saturday evening - goes over some of the Pagan & Christian folktales from this time of year, should be interesting. The town we live near has a 'Dickens of a Christmas' type weekend with choirs & lots of folks dressed up like they are from a Dickens novel and vendors and whatnot. Not quite a Christmas Market, but similar. We try to go to the Christmas Market in Philly but we aren't going to be able to make it this year I don't think.

Still down here and it's been jeans and sweaters plus jacket. I wore my quilted jacket to Epcot for Candlelight Processional which was very beautiful and the music was wonderful. I hadn't seen it in many years.

It gets cool quickly in the evenings. I'd been monitoring temps for my ride back home just in case of snow. Since it was looking so cold I added on another day so that it can get warmer for my ride.

Tonight (and last night) I am tucked in at the new Fort Wilderness Cabins. They are super cute and I'm happy I took advantage of staying here for a couple of nights. The kitchen is mostly a decoration for these nights as I'm not cooking, but eating out, other than coffee and a biscotti in the morning, but it's really nice if you wanted to use it. A lot of people have xmas decorations up and some are quite elaborate, but for two nights, I just enjoyed the ones at other cabins as I drove in and out or sat on my deck.

I've found just one gift so far here but have some at home. Still time for Amazon!

Hug Judique, I'm so glad you were able to view the Candlelight Processional. God willing I would love to see it again and with my dad along with maybe some of dear all of you as well.
