HI all and Happy Monday!

I'm sorry I missed yesterday. I was just really in a funk and my husband was not doing too great so we just really kind of retreated from the world. BUT today is word of good news...our friend is awake and alert! We got some great pictures of him talking and knowing what's going on and talking football smack. Such a relief. It's weird how things sneak up bite us on the butt when we think we have put it to bed or not thinking it needs to be acknowledged.

I see lots good news happening with Anniversaries, baby born and possibly a/c installed. Lynn planted enough for all of us it seems and we are all sending thoughts for Auntie's dog to get better.

I had a second job interview this afternoon. I'm not sure how I feel about even returning to work full time but they are very upfront about work life balance and trying to leave work on desk and not bring it home. I appreciate that completely. I'm worried about how I'm going to start treatment and work and juggle being with people with my immune system being disrupted. Life never just easy, is it?

Dinner tonight is BLTAs and soup with some fruit salad.

Gratitude:
Time with Matt. As much as he aggravates me, and that is so much, he is my heart and I spent so long without him. Being able to curl up and watch tv and just be is a blessing that many he deployed with over years doesn't have.

Good carrot cake. Sometimes piece and cake and cup coffee really helps things. I'm not sure when I turned into my grandparents..

Another employment prospect. I'm lucky to have skills needed and blessed to pick and chose when I work.

Peace and good health to all

Question of the day: 5/18: would you rather be the best play on a losing team or the worst player on a winning team?

We spent a lot hours watching The Last Dance documentary about Michael Jordan. Matt and I were talking about would you want to be Michael Jordan when Bulls weren't very good or the bench player when the Bulls were winning it all. I was very much I want to be contributing to a team that is winning and my husband wanted to lead the team to win. Go figure lol

Ok more to add... if you were the worst player on an NBA team, you got there because you had been one of the best players in college. So you already have had a taste of being the best. Now you’re the worst player being blessed with being with the best players from whom you could learn so much! Gives you the motivation to work hard.

So glad to hear that all of our extra prayers helped your friend. It's understandable that you guys needed a break from the world. Glad that today is better for you!

LOL you got that right. We will have fresh veggies coming out of our ears by the end of July/beginning of August I hope--will be glad to share!

Let your heart and your health determine if you want to go back full time at all. Take it a day at a time, till your health straightened back out

We made chicken salad from last nite's slow cooker chicken, had that over lettuce with tomatoes, cottage cheese, fresh strawberries and blueberries, it was good!

He really sounds like such a sweetie. So is my hubby, and as aggravated as I am at having him working at home 24/7, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. He was tired of my having an old tracfone as my cell phone, and today we went to the phone store and came home with 2 brand new phones..whoo hoo!

mmm to the carrot cake..never had a sip of coffee in my life, so I'll take your word on that part of it, lol!

You are indeed lucky, especially with all the unlucky ones who are out of jobs now, or will be due to small businesses closing left and right

Peace and good health to all

I don't want to be on a team at all.
But, if I had to be, I would want to be the best player.

Dinner tonight is chicken tortilla soup

LOL same answer for me. If we are talking sports, that's not my thing, so no team would be my choice. I would want to be a best player on a worst team, and help the others learn to be better I guess.

:hug:AuntieMe3 and to your other dog, too. What is his name? (Dog at vet)? Keeping all of you in prayer. ETA: I thought of Champ as my doggie son, too, totally get that!
His name is Buddy and I'm waiting for the call to come pick him up.

Ah! I’ve had a lot of German Shepherds! They’re always limping over something! Spent tons of money at vets until I learned to give it a little time. :thumbsup2
He has definitely been, as we like to affectionately call him, a lemon. That's why he loves his vet so much because he sees him A LOT. Thankfully our vet is not in it for the money(like our last vet was), he has the kind of wait and see how he does with the less expensive option before we proceed with something pricy and evasive. Anyway, hubby and I were talking about what we'll do depending on what they say...if surgery is an option, we will do a wait and see approach as long as our boy isn't in pain.
I don't want to be on a team at all.
But, if I had to be, I would want to be the best player.
Same for me....lol I don't want to be on a team...I am not very sporty. In school PE, during dodgeball, I would intentionally get out first so I didn't have to play.

Tina, I'm so glad your friend is doing better and you two had a day for yourselves, sometimes we need that.

Hmm, tough question. Let's just say...I want to be the best player I can be, for the good of my team, no matter if I'm on a good team or bad.

Went up to CVS and Winn Dixie today. It felt awkward because the only people wearing masks were the workers, and a couple of older people. Everyone else was maskless, and one lady had a newborn in a sling at WD. Other than that, I worked on my "mama knows best" Coco puzzle, and watched Hulu.

I was up late last night, doing this puzzle series I found on my Kindle. JA Konrath's Stop A Murder; there are 6 books, one is the answer key; and it's all different kinds of puzzles to find out who/what/where/how/why a murder is happening. Storyline is very...dark...in some spots, so not for those who don't like his serial killer books. I'll admit, there were a couple of puzzles that I needed to look at the answer because I just couldn't figure it out, and a couple times I was right, but I didn't type the words correctly (like rollsroyce was wrong, but rolls royce was right, as an example).

I made steaks (reverse seared, butter basted ribeye for DH; butter basted NY strip for me; DS ate corndogs because he doesn't like steak) and roasted veggies (brussel sprouts, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower) for dinner. Finishing off the cookies I made the other for dessert, crumbled up with some Tillamook vanilla ice cream.

DH took a week vacation last week (a staycation, haha) because his company asked him to; they are asking everyone to starting using their vacation time this summer, even if they don't want to, since it's already been 'banked' for the year, and they are trying to keep things right for next year. They did learn a lesson when the recession was going on last time, and banked quite a bit in preparation; so no one has been laid off, everyone is still getting paid (there were interns that did not get their intern spots, unfortunately, because there is no place for them to intern at; and the plans are to not to return to their offices until the end of the year. I really like this company; this is one of the reasons they have been on Forbes top 20 companies to work for for many years.

Good question. My son just finished his baseball career as a college senior, so I’ve been involved in that scene for the past seventeen years or so. And he’s been close to both situations on various teams over the years. Fortunately for him, being on the losing teams - and being one of the smallest - occurred when he was younger, and it did inspire him to fight to prove himself. (Unlike some of the kids when younger who were the “best” back then and weren’t as inspired to keep working and trying hard because they didn’t have to.) That experience helped give him staying power and taught him important things like how to be a good player and teammate, etc. Later, being on a winning team was very sweet! And I wouldn’t say he was the “worst” player then or that there was any “worst player”. They were a team. That was what it was all about and I believe what he will carry into his work-world team as he begins his career outside of school and sports, But what a great ride it was - truly experiences he will always treasure! :goodvibes

I enjoy your questions Tina.

If a team would have me I'm good with being the worst player. But honestly I belong in the stands. :rotfl:

We got some work done on our car today. Hubs noted our dealer will pick up and drop off our vehicle. He got it all arranged and it went great.

Thankful for:
The quiet time of online church.
How pretty the trees are when I take a walk
Friendship.

Tina, glad your friend is better.

I am too tired to think about that question. I am not competitive so it's a hard one.

Long, exciting day yesterday. Carter arrived at 11:34 am. Didn't hear his name until after 3 when we coordinated DD's recovery with DGD's nap. They Facetimed and I am not sure DGD knew what to think. Then we headed out to tell MIL, Carter was her father's name. Had a DQ stop and pizza for dinner. Can't wait to hold Carter but that could be a while. I should be able to see him when we take DGD home though.

Hope you all are well. I put this on the prayer chain at church and people were so glad to hear good news for a change. I'll be back when I can.

Gratitude:
Carter, healthy baby and healthy mom. And that's enough.
