Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

I have so many favorite pictures I wouldn't even know where to start! As a hobby photographer I took a lot over the years! Most are of my family, dogs or some combination of the two. Some of our vacation memories are my favorites. I have one of our family hanging in my bedroom that was taken on one of the Disney ships. We were relaxed and dressed in dining casual with no shoes on. I look at that when I wake up every day. I always spend a lot of money on cruise photos because they usually come out really great!

Have also been to too many concerts to count over the years. DH and I are the kiss of death if we see someone as often they pass shortly afterward! This was the case for John Denver, Harry Chaplin, Bob Hope, Roy Orbison, Robin Williams, some of The Beach Boys (Dennis and Carl Wilson), and probably others that I can't think of right now. Ugh! Ironically I'm pretty sure the last concert I saw was at Flower and Garden last year, it was Yes. Which was also the very first concert I went to when I was 13! I love going to a small venue where the concert feels more intimate than at a big stadium. Favorites were David Crosby and Graham Nash performing barefoot on stools in a outdoor music theater, and more recently Paul McCartney at Fenway Park where we had amazing, comfortable seats in the Pavilion.

Question of the day: 5/16: Live music? Fan or not fan? Last concert you went to?

I love live music from big concerts or small dive bars to the kid outside practicing. I treated myself to tickets to George Strait with Chris Stapleton and Brothers Osborne for this summer. Unfortunately the concert was postponed until next summer. I don't know if we will get to a concert this summer or not. Last summer we saw Rascal Flatts, Heart, and Hottie and Blowfish. I hope something figures itself out but who knows.
I love live and recorded music of most any genre except Nashville and gangster rap; just doesn't touch my heart.
I think the last time I heard live music @ home was a performance of the Nutcracker at Lincoln Center during the winter holiday season. The last time we were at WDW (Christmas 2019) we heard an oompah band at Germany in Epcot- they were great!

Finished off the fried rice tonight. Had to add more rice, vegetables, and meat to serve the three of us but it was fun and fast since all the fine cutting had already been done the first time around. Added bok choy, the last of the tomato, frozen peas, cukes (we seem to like cucumbers a lot, raw and now cooked) silken tofu (a great texture substitute for eggs), and shrimps to the chicken, roast pork, baby corn, carrots, and broccoli. Oh and DGD liked tonight's version better since I dropped the oyster sauce and replaced it w/ soy and sesame sauces; everybody's a food critic in this household, LOL.

The "peoples" are still working on the Entenmann's chocolate cake and I wish they'd hurry up and finish it since I want to use up the last of the ricotta cheese in a dessert. Too many desserts in the house at the same time makes me weary just looking at them, LOL.

I hope the weather holds up tomorrow as I'd like the three of us to get some fresh air together.

Speaking of fresh air I booked a 4 night stay at a glamping site in Fire Island's National Seashore. We'll be there in August since by then I think this region's shutdown will end. Yes we have plenty of camping equipment but the "come hither" for the man is we wont have to set up the site or even bring much food and ice. Most everything is supplied for us and that makes the man happiest. This is where we are going:

Good Evening! Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

HAPPY GRADUATION TO MATT!

Weather permitting, we are going to do some yard work in the morning and I’m pretty excited about planting a few flowers.
Yes, love live concerts. We’ve been to too many to list from The Stones to Dave Matthews Band to Billy Joel and Elton John ( both together and separate) to all kinds of Jazz.

(STATION19 followers.... does a stay in jail enter your mind as part of mama’s story?)

I'm not a big fan of concerts, usually too crowded for me, but I've been to quite a few. My friends and I are players club members for a casino club at the California/Nevada stateline hotel casinos near us. We get free room offers with concert tickets all the time and we use them a lot of the time. We've seen Foreigner, Keith Sweat/Color Me Bad, Dolly Parton, Wynonna Judd, Kenny Rogers, Merle Haggard, Lonestar, Melissa Etheridge, Air Supply, Boys to Men....and I'm sure lots of others but those are who I remember. Hubby has been really lucky with winning concert tickets too we've seen Toby Keith twice and Tim McGraw for free. I think the last concert I went to was with friends to see Crystal Gayle...lol We see her every year around August/September at the South Point casino in Vegas. Another friend and I were supposed to go see Journey this month but of course that was canceled before we could even buy tickets.

Hubby and I like to go with our friends to concerts at the lake in a local mountain community every year and I much prefer those to a big concert in a major arena....they are usually cover bands but we've seen some great ones. Hubby just mentioned today that we'd usually be doing that already this year but of course they've been cancelled.

@NYCgrrl , that glamping looks interesting. They supply food?

I would like to see Billy Joel at some point.
I got to see Billy Joel in about 1976. It was at Loyola College in Baltimore, a small school. He was the warm up band for Hall and Oates. He was spectacular but Hall and Oates were so bad we left after the first song. At least that is was I remember from 45 years ago.

LOL, that is a fun memory. I'd prefer to see 70's Billy as opposed to older balder Billy but I'll take what I can get if the opportunity presents itself! And I am from Baltimore originally so I know exactly where you are talking about. :)

Okay DIS family, I am officially tired and quit for the day. Garden is all planted (by moi!) 36 tomatoes (varieties), 2 different kinds of pickling cukes, 5 kinds of squash (summer, zucchini, kuta, a medley, and acorn) and 3 teepees of kentucky wonder beans. Now all it needs it a little rain and then some sun. Will be back tonite to check for the question of the day, but wanted to say HI before I go and take a nap, lol! Have a great Sunday everyone!

They have an add on feature that will supply you with food, ice, juice, etc. I won't know how much it costs and if there's a choice of meals until I call them on Monday. I really hope I can supply some of my own food or at least get specific time of day meals (lunch and breakfast) because I've some beautiful meat cuts in the freezer that I bought with outdoor grilling in mind.

My last concert was 1974 with the Beach Boys. I was just a child! :rolleyes1 It was my one and only concert. I am not a fan of alot of people drinking and smoking like they were during this show. I will say I have been wanting to go to a Billy Joel concert at Fenway but they sell out too quickly. We were supposed to see Air Supply at the Garden Concert series at Epcot this month but that did not work out. Maybe next May.

Today is my wedding anniversary. We've been married 23 years today. ❤ We've done absolutely nothing today to celebrate.. We usually go somewhere for our anniversary but since we can't do that right now, we've enjoyed the day being home and doing nothing. ::yes:: We'll probably order something for dinner tonight, just haven't decided what yet.

Congrats on your anniversary!

We did...nothing much as all today! A little garden /yard work. A walk. A lot of lazing around.

Dinner this evening is leftover lamb/venison kabob and veggie kabobs from last night. Plus the little bit of crab mac & cheese. And tortilla chips and queso! A little bit of everything really....

Have a good week everyone -
