Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

:grouphug:extra Lynn and extra prayers for both you, Don, and, of course, Summer! ITA that Summer needs to choose to be stronger advocate for herself and eek out further support. A patient liaison would be a fantastic idea!

I am so tired of the drama that has become both bowls. Seriously ready to donate them both with a smile and grateful heart, of course, too! Be done. I just may do that! Refraining from posting the drama not worth it, not me! I will just say be wary of any unknown to you online company and take caution before ordering. No complaints just thanks :)

Have a good afternoon everyone 🌼

I puttered around yesterday doing some cleaning of this and that. It was another of those days where I started doing one thing, found something else while doing that and had about 4 jobs going at once, lol
 I do that too!

PollyannaMom, how are the twins doing in school?
Very well, thanks. I saw them Wednesday and Friday this week, and they both seem to be enjoying second grade. - She's loving math this year, and he was excited about spelling and the book fair.

Good evening! I had a busy day today. Feeling better, finally. Still have that stuff in my head and throat but I guess it will take a while to go away. I tested negative (and my ten days is up) so I can go back to work this week.

DD and I treated ourselves to mani/pedis today. It’s not something we do often but we felt like it would be a nice thing. It was rainy and gloomy out and it was a long month with everyone stuck in the house. We actually had a lot of fun with the ladies who did our nails - there was even a dog in there! On the way home I ran in and grabbed myself a new Yankee Candle - my other had died out, and I bought a no-name brand but it wasn’t the same. 😕 I got Scents of the Fall or something like that. Everyone at home liked it. I will probably donate the others or save for a power outage.

Mona, I’m glad you are making progress with the bowl. Good to make a final decision! I‘m glad your Dad found your pancake mix, too! I’m not a big pancake person, but DH likes them. If we go out to bf, he always orders pancakes. If I get any, I like blueberry. But normally I have an English Muffin, toasted. I do like to keep some Eggo waffles on hand (blueberry) as every now and then I like one!

@Pea-n-Me You said--
She should insist on getting the scan, tell that Dr. to pound sand, she (summer) wants it now, as well as some answers - and a plan of action going forward. I know in some larger hospital settings (probably smaller ones as well) when a patient has multiple things going on at once they will have a meeting with the patient and all of the Dr's to make sure everyone is on same wavelength and make sure no one is missing anything, perhaps something like that can be arranged by the hospital/medical systems patient liaison?

I told her the same thing, but I will tell her again. It just seems like they keep sending her to one Dr after another, and she's not getting anywhere with any of them. She lives in WV, so she is going to WVU in Morgantown, so that's about the largest hospital around there. She texted me this morning to tell me she took the first done of Methotrexate, which I guess is an oral chemotherapy. She said they found lots of sclerosis and bone spurs and deterioration of the bone (I am assuming she means in her hands). So it's not just for arthritis. (she tells us this stuff in bits and pieces, so we never know quite what is going on with her). Now she's worried that she's going to lose her hair, or that she will be crippled in a year. :( I will mention to her about asking for the patient liason to set up a meeting with all Drs if possible. She goes back to Morgantown on Nov 2, so maybe they could set something up for that day.
Thank you!
Lol Lynn, I was trying to remember that conversation - then I read back and saw that it was Easy who gave you that advice. But I agree! I know it’s difficult to see so many different providers. I‘ll post a link on methotrexate.

Sorry to hear that some are feeling under the weather. I don’t have to tell you what is so prominent right now! 😬

We were craving Chinese food so we took a chance on going to an older place we haven’t been to since before the pandemic. (Not many places are open on Mondays.) Omg, was so sad to see how downhill it went! 😭 We probably should’ve just kept going when we realized but we stayed. Last time! I have a favorite place for Chinese, but DH and DD like a different place, and DS doesn’t like Chinese at all, so I thought maybe this place would be a compromise. Yuck!

B&B I had a smile on my face reading your news about your son. ☺️ I’m glad he’s headed home. ❤️

Good morning! :sunny:

It's supposed to be 78 today but rain later tonight. I figured the sun is a good picture for now.

I was off this weekend so I definitely put my free time to use :dogdance:. Saturday I painted the shed and trimmed a couple of bushes back. Later that night I went to my great-niece's soccer game ⚽. Her team won in a sudden death shoot out, very exciting but man, did my heart rate go up. I picked up an open shift for Sunday night for bonus pay. I was able to watch the first half of the Bengals game 🏈 and then took a nap before going in to work.

Yesterday was a little rough. I left one job at 6 am, got home and clocked in for my other job by 6:30 am. I was able to get payroll done and then I took an hour nap. That was kind of how my day went, work - nap - work - nap, I finally got going at 4:00. I had a taste test to do at 5:00, tasted marinara sauce, easy $20. In bed and asleep by 8:30 last night.😴

I think we have a couple of Phillies fans in this group ⚾. Congrats on making it to the World Series and good luck! I'll be cheering with you. Happy the Astros also made it (I would have been happy with anyone making it except for the Yankees) but I'll cheer for the National League team.

Slow week ahead so that's good. I need to give the dogs some extra attention this week since yesterday was kind of a bust.🐶:dog:

Have a great day!

I am not a pancake fan either, but it has to be blueberry. And I am a toasted English muffin girl too..and if I have an Eggo, it must be blueberry!

Good morning all. Raining lightly now, it wasn't in the forecast though. They say it will be sunny and near 80 today. We better enjoy it while we can.

@Breezy_Carol Thank you for those 2 pictures. They immediately make me think of sitting there, staring at the water, and relaxing. I got to do it for a few minutes today by looking at your pictures. Hope you are having a great time!

Dave (handyman) showed up yesterday to put in the peephole and finish the door trim, but he brought the wrong size drill bit . That was after we had a 10 minute conversation about it the other day, when he kept insisting the door was fiberglass and not steel. Lowes hadn't had the right size front door I wanted in fiberglass, so we took the steel,,and he was the one with me when we bought them, lol! We don't have any bits for steel, so he's coming back today to do it. He also brought us samples of the floor that he put in his wife's house (they have separate houses, long story, lol ). We loved it. It came from Lowe's, so he will either take me today to see the other choices, and get we will get whichever I like, or I will stop tomorrow when we are out doing errands and grocery shopping. We fit the other boxes of flooring in our car when we bought them, but can't fit groceries at the same time, Dave has a truck and it's easier to just buy it and put it in there, plus I don't have to be lifting all the boxes! He says his neck is healed well enough to put down a floor whenever we want it down. I am NOT waiting a year like last time, then having someone else do it, and getting shoddy work (on top of a faulty floor). This floor is even thicker and nicer and it actually costs less than what we paid for the other, and we had gotten it at Ollies, after hearing good things about it from many people.

Summer says no side effects from the new med yet, but I say it might be a little too early to either have some, or not get them. But I am not a Dr, so who knows

Off to gather trash and make grocery list.--Have a nice morning

Good morning everyone. I got back late Friday night but the flight pattern took us over the Ballpark and I got to see the Phillies game from the air. I even managed a picture.

I came home with a sinus infection. I tested negative and I am prone to them. Hot, cold, rain and in and out of AC always does it to me. I was right back in the thick of things on Saturday. I love my vacations, but real life is always waiting for me when I return. Jim had his pre-admission testing yesterday so now I am waiting on the time of his surgery. I had to get the boys to school today and pick them up and then head straight to Ella's volleyball game for school. She is a starter so I have to be there, camera in hand.

Prayers, hugs and condolences to all who need them. I read while away but my I-Pad gives me a hard time posting comments. I'll do a mini trip report later. I am still sorting through the 3,000 or so pictures I took.

Have a great day.

Hellllooo everyone!!! I will try and play catch up later, we hit the ground running when we made it to Pigeon Forge and just taking a break now, because I am in the backseat while my son drives! LOL!!
How is everyone doing? We are doing the Smokies today with some hiking and exploring. I hope to catch up on the thread tonight when I am ready to just unwind and relax!

I am glad my first time back was with family. Jeff and I had adjoining rooms so the kids could come in to see me in the morning and it helped Jeff get ready without having to watch them all. I am not sure if I can go back by myself but it is a maybe at this point. Maybe starting with a 3 or 4 night trip may help and I don't even have to ride many rides, just look around.
Sounds like a great trip and the adjoining rooms were a great plan! Solo trips can be so much more fun than expected. I still have teenagers, so I am not fully solo but we winter for 3 months at a time in Florida and another state or 2 that we choose. (This year Florida, Tennessee and then a sliver back in the Midwest). My husband is a truck driver, so he is gone a lot and my kids have made friends all over the world...so with cars and jobs (they transfer to different Mcdonald's locations around the country depending on how long we will be in each place) I rarely see them....ANYWAY..to make a long story still long! LOL. I do the parks a lot alone and love it and spend so much time at the resorts walking, eating, sipping wine and just all around enjoying that I have learned to just enjoy my own company. Sometimes I will even just sit and read while I eat or drink in a park and others I will sit in the quick service dining areas and journal, crochet etc. I explore different resorts, try different places and always manage to stay occupied. I rarely go back to the resort bedroom/RV if at the Fort to just hang out, it's usually just when I am ready to go to bed and then I make phone calls, write out my plan for the next day and pop on the TV for a bit just for some white noise! There is also a SOLO DIS board here and it's a great way to meet up with other solo travelers, even if you just want to have a coffee, someone to split dinner with or if you do need a park companion.

Good morning. It is in the fifties here and cloudy now with rain expected to continue later. I hope to get a walk in before it rains. I started with a cold on Saturday. It isn't bad but annoying enough to be a nuisance and affect my sleep so I am tired today. At least it is a cold and nothing else. At Disney people were coughing all over the place.
80 today in Pigeon Forge but it always gets chilly at night and then gets progressively warmer!
Dh is not feeling well; he was up and down all night, and is now sleeping on my couch. He's not vomiting or anything; he says he feels off and is very tired.
Oh no, hope he feels better soon!!!

Still a bit grey and drizzly out here, but I have an online class in a few minutes to keep me occupied. Next week my new one starts - on the 1980s.

I got two new tires on my car yesterday, so I'm ready for the winter roads (but I hope we're not there just yet!!)

MIL is doing OK. Still a lot of bruising, but the swelling in her knee is going down.

Good Morning from chilly LA,

For me, it is real cool this Tuesday. Glad for dad it is cooler so reading his 📰in his car while waiting for the laundry cycles to complete will be more pleasant. No 📭mail yesterday. Did get one expected through the mail package. We are possibly expecting a second package via the PO to come today. Maybe today will also bring 💌

I have a smile on my face as I just gave God extra thanks for His added grace upon you dear Pea! So thankful to Him that you are feeling better. Hooray also that you and your DD enjoyed extra time together, too. Dad enjoys blueberry pancakes. Plain buttermilk for me with just a little Market Pantry (Target brand) syrup. No butter. Thank you so much again on the bowl. I will be sending the company back the bigger bowl for a full credit card refund. I have let them know my appreciation for taking time to give me options. Grateful this will be behind me. I will let you and everyone else know should I choose to order anything else from them. Dad will be using a Ralph’s scale on a lightweight bowl that he thinks is 4oz which is what the weight is to be of the narrow rim bowl. I will go from there. All good.

What a glorious sunset God created and let you see, Carol! Wow, that is beautiful! Prayers all of you are enjoying R&R while also making new memories. Stay safe and have fun, my friend:grouphug:

:cheer2: to your great niece and her ⚽ team, Footballmouse! Thank you for cheering them on. Tired just reading a recap of your Monday. Please get some added rest today! I believe we do have at least one if not two Phillies fans among us. Astros? I know years ago my cousin Steve liked them. These days not so much. Vague memory (no details just that I went) to the old Astrodome at least twice. I wish both teams well.

 Lynn and continuing 🙏 for Summer. Extra thanks to you and Don for all the loving support you both give to her. She is blessed indeed. God Bless, handyman Dave. He definitely sounds like a good guy. Of course, I am so sorry about the hassles yesterday! Here’s to your new flooring soon to be installed.

Welcome 🏡 dear Taz! How cool to have gotten a picture of the Phillies ⚾ game from an airplane seat! I would love to see that. Look forward to seeing some of your other photos as well. Thanks extra to God that you are back in the swing of things. I well remember visiting my grandma in Houston years ago when she lived out there. I would always come home sick due to the in and out hot swampy weather to cold AC. Not a good combination! For Jim! And an extra :grouphug: for you.

 to you, Bobbiwoz! May you and Tom have a great Tuesday.

Enjoy your adventure, DisneyMommyMichelle!:hug:Truly sounds like an amazing family experience all-around. Cherish, as I am sure you do, this extra closer family time blessing from God. Be safe please!:car:

Enjoy your current and new to come online class, PollyannaMom. I really do think it’s so cool that you are taking them. Good for you! Wow the 80's was sure a lifetime ago. Both good and bad memories. Definitely a unique decade!

Wishing all of you a Tuesday of joy. Please also stay warm and well! I will check back later.

I took the 1970s class from the same teacher last year, and it was really good. I picked that one specifically because it was kind of a gap for me - later than we used to get to in my history classes back in high school, but too early in my life for me to really remember much! I think I'll be able to participate more in the 80s one.

I came across this yesterday, if anyone needs a fun challenge today:

80s quiz.png

I did pretty well on the quiz, @PollyannaMom, but I got tripped up on video games and some of the toys that came after my time with toys! The 80s were a blur for me - it was one of the busiest times of my life when I was in school full time and working at least two jobs most of the time, then starting my career and buying a house, etc. A lot of the culture of the 80s passed right by me! That’s why I’m stuck in the 70s, when life was at more of a lull! :lmao:

45/50. One I knew the answer to (controller for Nintendo), but my cat MJ didn't...she flicked her tail and hit the mouse (I have sensitivity up on it for the game I'm on), and clicked the incorrect answer. I missed the freaky gloves one (I don't even remember those); the CED (I wasn't sure, it was between that and CD, and I chose poorly); the Merlin (again, don't remember it); and the Power Wheels (didn't read the answers throughly, saw Wheels and clicked...except I clicked hot wheels). I was a teen in the 80s, hah; I remember using most of that stuff!

We have a new tv coming Saturday. We had to pay (well, chose to) $200 for the new extended warranty, which will be good for 5 years; that's all we had to cover! We didn't have them install it last time, so they aren't doing it again this time; only unboxing and then DH will come home (he has appointments that morning) and he can fix things up.

DH is still home sick; he had a fever part of the day yesterday and last night, and now a 'sour tummy'. I ended up getting Chili's last night, because he thought he could handle it better than posole; so we both had burgers and some really good fries. I am making the posole broth today, without the hominy; and then I'll cool it overnight and freeze it in batches tomorrow. The pork had to be cooked, but we can eat it another day. I'll have a hot dog and mac n cheese and veggies tonight, and DH can have some soup. He's working from home, so he's not using any PTO.

Got the house cleaned: bathrooms scrubbed; kitchen all wiped down; everywhere swept and mopped (except DH's office, since he's in there working, and DS's old room, which is packed with stuff right now). I still need to vacuum the living room rug, but I couldn't yesterday with DH laying on the couch, napping on and off, all day; so I'll get to that when he gets done tonight. I still need to dust, but I think I'll do that Friday.

That's all she wrote today, folks! Have a good day!
