Now, first of all, I'm not starting this as a bash thread....just wanted to pre-empt the accusations. Although I'm not a Bush supporter, I do not wish him ill will, and am glad he did not suffer any major injuries. I would hope that both sides of the fence can see the humor in the below.

What made me laugh is this line in the article I read about the incident online regarding John Kerry's response.

"I hope he's OK," said the 60-year-old Massachusetts senator, who took a bike ride in Boston on Saturday but managed to stay upright.

I just thought it was reallllly funny that the reporter felt compelled to mention that he managed to stay upright. LOL

Hmmm....my older son always manages to stay upright on his bicycle, while my younger tends to fall off quite a bit. Maybe they are both presidential candidate material?:scratchin

I am not a Bush supporter either but....that poor man, how embarassing.:o

John Kerry's bike cost? I heard it cost $5,000.00! Could be Bush's was a little cheaper, thats why he fell, or he heard how Much Kerry's cost and fell off! ::yes::

I can just hear the Kerry supporters saying President Bush fell off the bike becasue VP Cheyney wasn't there to do the pedaling for him. And the Bush supporters saying Senator Kerry would never fall off his bike because he flip-flops so much he doesn't know if he is coming or going.

Maybe he was eating a pretzel while he was riding....

 :rotfl:

Maybe the Secret Service guy who was riding with him pushed him off of his bike, WAhhhhhhh.......

Actually, I am glad he wasn't hurt, although taking most of the injuries to his face is really going to be interesting in is his next few speeches....:hyper:

I'm glad that President Bush wasn't seriously hurt. This just reminds me again why I am so thankful to live in anonymity. If falling off a bike is big news when you are president I'd hate to think of how busy I'd keep the media if I were president. Stuff like that is all in a day's work for me. The press would never be able to report on world events because they'd be busy covering my latest 'incident', lol.

I'm not a Bush supporter and I wish him no ill will, however...

I love the subtle humor.

Keli, I totally agree! They would have a total field day with the mishaps I seem to gather round me. LOL

I'm glad he's not hurt, but let's face it, it is pretty darn funny!!!:hyper:

How the heck does an adult fall off a bike? Glad he wasn't
hurt. BTW, racing bikes are really expensive. My husband has
two because he was a competitive racer. Lots of people around
here have them. $5000 bikes are not that rare although my
bike was only $350 and I'd never pay $5000.

The comments about both candidates and their "bike-riding" styles-Cheney...flip-flop -I am :rotfl:!

Bedknobbery , where's that article from?:)

Oh...and yes! The yuppified bikes around here are in the thousands. Many often have more than one of these...not to mention the outfits!

Wasn't this on an early episode of West Wing?

Was he wearing a helmet?????

If not, shame shame shame. He should be a role model after all!

In fairness to President Bush, he was mountain biking on his ranch in Crawford. Not quite the same as pedaling down the street. A few more obstacles in the way.

OK, back to the jokes...
