Sounds like a fun trip to me :thumbsup2 Plus aren't you smart adding those days now you can use ME for both legs of your trip (if you're flying). I'm not sure how many days they would store luggage but I do know from checking into our split stay they will arrange to transfer luggage for you.

Sounds like you do as we do when we're going to more than one place, we organize our luggage so we have it packed for where we'll be. Biggest suitcase holds the lion share of the clothes we'll use for the resort we'll be at the longest, then for a 1-2 day resort, we'll use an overnight bag.

Thanks we sure are looking forward to our trip. The ME and how much we enjoyed POR was the deciding factor to add on the third part of out trip. Yep we are saving about $60 on a taxi from the convention center to the airport but are paying close to $1500 and staying an extra five days.

As far as Disney holding our luggage for a few days I'll just ask when I'm there, the worst they can say is no. If I only have a couple of small pieces of luggage we will take the bus but if we have to bring all our luggage then we will get a taxi.

Then I guess you would not like what we have planned. 5 nights at POP with free dinning then 3 nights at the Double Tree Hilton (near the convention center) for Star Wars Celebration. That was originally the end of our vacation but we enjoyed POR so much we added 5 nights at POR with free dinning for after SW Celebration. So three rooms in less then two weeks.

I wonder is it possible to send some of our luggage from POP to POR and have them store it for a few days for us?

Umm, I did mention the under 10 days thing I think ;) Over 10 days I do split stays. I think your trip is 13 days? Last Aug we did 6 nights POR with free DDP, 5 nights BC, then decided to come a day earlier so booked the DTD Doubletree for 1st night before POR package.

We're checking into POR on Sat May 5th! Whoohoo!!! I tried to do online check in and it is automatically applying the credit card I used to pay for the trip. I don't want that card or any card applied for charging privileges. Is there a way you can take that off? I couldn't see one. If not, I guess I'll just have to wait till we get there..

Ma! I'm too excited to sleep! :woohoo:

Thanks to all of you for your responses, I will plan a trip and see what happens - All of you have been so very helpful !
:thumbsup2

We will be going for 10 days..but now that I think about it packing up just to move to a different room is gonna be a PITA lol I told hubster about my idea and looked at me like I've lost all my marbles lol

Yeah same thoughts here. When you grasp the idea of repacking all that. It seems like too much. Even if they move it for you, you then have to unpack and setup all over again.

Hi Sue, I think you were at POR around the same time as us last year. I know you mentioned the under 10 days thing. What I was referring to was that we are doing two splits in only 13 days. I did not know you stayed at DTD Doubletree as well so in a way did the same thing we are doing.

I know that the DTD Doubletree is not the same as the Sea World Doubletree but, how did you find it?

I thought it was very nice. We had a 1 bedroom suite, very spacious. Nicely appointed. Along 1 wall in the dining area was a long counter with fridge, sink, and coffee service. They had the Cusinart pod coffee machine. We got a good deal from mousesavers coupon with free breakfast.

The only thing I really missed was the beautiful grounds that the WDW resorts have. The pool was just a pool- meh. No pretty landscapping. But the hotel itself was great. Under $100 a night for a 1 bdrm suite!!

Yes, we did pretty much the same thing you did!! I was in So. Fla anyway before WDW visiting family, and decided to come a day early, so decided to try DTD Doubletree. We still had our rental car, returned it after POR check in.

I've seen pics of the new regular mansion rooms and I am confused where the sinks are. On Andre's page on some pics that were posted by someone the sinks are shown with the toliet and shower, I thought the sinks were separated by a door from the toliets and the shower. HELP!!!!:confused3

That's weird I just did our 2 rooms a few days ago and had/wanted to put in cc info. I wonder if somewhere along way a CM checked box or whatever saying yes add card for room charges, I know I've been asked that in past when paying on room. I know you can take card off at check in but doing it prior i'm not sure, I'll dig and see if I can find way.

That would have been an Accessible room, they are set out that way to allow better wheelchair access.

Regular guest rooms still have the bath/toilet in a room of their own, separated by a doorway from the sinks/etc:

Thank you Andre, I thought that was the case but I figured I'd better ask anyway. Don't like having a "fogged up" mirror when someone is taking a hot shower.

Do you know, do they have an aghaust fan in the tub/toliet area?

Every disney resort room i've ever been in has.

The Royal Rooms are in the Magnolia buildings which have elevators. Maybe you could request a ground floor room -OR- an upper floor room near the elevator. Would that work?

Yes I think he would be ok with that, he just doesn't want to rent a scooter, actually refuses to and after long days in the parks he wants on the ground but I think close to an elevator would be ok too.

Hi everyone - we returned yesterday from vacation. We did 4 nights at POR starting Apr 21 and then did a 5 night cruise on the Magic. Thought someone may be interested on this newbie's take.

I did not do online check in. When I arrived about 5pm Saturday the line for online check in was longer than regular.

I had faxed in advance with two requests - refurbed room for my party of 5 and connecting rooms with my parents. Both requests granted. We were in AB Blding 37 on the ground floor.

I found the grounds to be quite expansive, But what I liked about Bldg 37 was the very close proximity to the North Depot. For my parents, they parked right near 37 and we were on and off the buses in no time. What wasn't convenient was the walk to the main area. It would have been difficult if my parents had to do it regularly. Our first night we did take the boat to DTD. Not sure if it was just our boat or the boats in general, but it was very loud. We chose to take the bus home.

My 9 year old slept on the murphy. She is not super tall, but good size and her feet were to the end once her head was on the pillow. She was ok though. Housekeeping was good. We did leave a gratuity each day with a note for extra coffees since we didn't want to walk back to the food court. We would have the coffee in the room and then get a cup at one of the parks.

The weather was a bit cool, so it wasn't prime pool time but my 11 yo wanted to try it out and had fun for 45 minutes one day. We also did laundry before leaving for the cruise and that worked out well too.

Overall, I think I would prefer a resort that is a bit smaller. But it worked fine for us as we left every morning and were basically gone until bed time. We were only there 4 nights so didn't really have the time for lounging, the restaurants, etc. Just my thoughts.

Hi all :wave2:

We will be staying at POR this November for the first time and I had just a few questions. Forgive me if they've been asked already, but I got about 10 pages in of reading, and figured to heck with that, I'll just ask anyway!

First, we are booked for a standard room, which I have read is more often than not a parking lot view. I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of an actual view from standard so I can better judge whether it would be worth my while to upgrade.

Secondly, we are booked for an AB room with murphy bed and I was wondering where, if anywhere in particular, these rooms are. I am hoping to narrow down which building to request when the time comes, but am not sure if all have murphy beds, or even if all have standard rooms. (so basically with standard room with a murphy bed, what are my options as far as buildings go?)

Thanks so much! :)

So Excited!! Finally got 20% off my Royal Room for my August dates! :woohoo:

:woohoo: yeah for you! Were you having trouble getting them to apply the summer discount?

We added a 3 night Royal Room stay to our trip when they announced the summer discount :yay: After following this thread, I recently decided to change it to a garden view, with the 20% off it was only $9 more a night including the tax FYI incase you're interested :goodvibes

In November, the refurbishment will be complete so ALL Alligator Bayou rooms will then have Murphy beds. Please be aware that unless you have a group of five people in one room (or you upgrade to a Preferred Location booking) you are not guaranteed an Alligator Bayou room, it is only a request. You'll most likely get one, but just letting you know.

Parking lot views are not generally unpleasant, as there are plenty of trees and other foliage around, but some of them do look fairly directly out over the parking lots. It's up to you whether you feel the extra $10 per night for a Garden View (or $15 for a pool view) is worth it though.

The map in the first post should help you work out the locations.
